1. Siniora is a wimp
Ibrahim ,   S. Arabia   (07.20.06)
He is such a p-ssy....it is embarassing to read what he says. He is in a difficult position, but, seeing what a weakling he is, no wonder Hezbullah is holding Lebanon hostage...... I would venture to say the world leaders are secretly laughing at him. HE SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE STRANGLEHOLD HEZBULLAH HAS OVER LEBANON, AND ASK FOR HELP TO GET RID OF IT-THAT'S THE ONLY THING THE WORLD WOULD RESPECT.
2. Siniora, what are you a prophet now?
Jeremiah ,   Israel, Jewish Land   (07.20.06)
The Lebanon and the Shites are getting what amounts to an old fashion ass whipping. When they get enough of them they'll behave differently. Unfortunately, Israel has been unsuccessfully practicing the modern method of child rearing that relies on the politically correct "time-out" for behavior modification. Well, back to basics. Old school is now in session. Stop your crying before we give you something to really cry about.
3. COWARDLY SINIORA
DEBRA ,   USA   (07.20.06)
WHY DOESN'T SINIORA MOBLIZE THE LEBANESE ARMY AGAINST HIZBULLAH---BECAUSE HE IS A COWARD IN THE FACE OF TERRORISM.
4. Can both sides learn from this?
Blues ,   Portland, USA   (07.20.06)
Sadly, Siniora is accurate in one part: "what is happening in Lebanon has been unprecedented in Lebanese history." Israel's lesson may be that they should have done this long ago. The lesson for Lebanon? Help Israel get Hizbullah out of Lebanon, then keep them out.
5. Mobilize his army ???
Robert Tilden ,   Sheridan, WY   (07.20.06)
"......if Israel sends in ground troops the Lebanese army would be mobilized. " Let me get this straigt the Lebanese are not able to take on Hizbollah, but will be mobilized against the IDF? So much for the 'weak Lebense government' . It seems like perhaps Hizbollah IS running the government, not only a Jr partner in it.
6. siniora
steven ,   france   (07.20.06)
The fact that this traitor is still in power,just goes to show that the syriens are still living high and mighty in Lebanon.and that their "Leaving" after they murdered Hariri,was only a smoke screen..As far as Lebanese prisioners are concerened ,this puppet ,siniora,knows that the only lebenese in Israel jail is the very one that Murdered a whole family on the beach,while they were HAVING A PICNIC,Some years ago.. So getting back to siniora,its about time he decided which camp he is in;but then again,most of the Lebanese,politiciens,are shit scared of saying anything out of line against the syrien Nazi regime,for fear of being assasinated..;

what we are doing is a big shame and it will stick to us forever. We should have learned from what happened to us 60 years ago and we should not repeat it on other humans.. Shame on our governemnt

I am afraid this will lead to World War III
13. Lets first recognise what started this..
C.S ,   London   (07.20.06)
Hezbollah are a raging cancer completely out of control. In effect they have like a cancer overwhelmed Lebanons sovereignity for the benefit of the gangster regimes in Iran and Syria whilst innocent Lebanese and Israeli civilians suffer. Its clear to everyone that its in the interest of both Lebanon and Israel that the cancer of Hezbollah needs to obliterated and they need to work together to ensure this never happens again.
14. #11 well said
Rustum ,   London, UK   (07.20.06)
Well said. It takes a brave person to say what you did in the current war-hysterical climate. Now how do you convince your fellow-citizens that destroying a neighbouring country is not a way to win friends and gain peace?
15. Israel/Lebanese conflict
Mary Dickins ,   Trinidad   (07.20.06)
Lenanon that's what you get for habouring terrorists
16. "no one speaks about Lebanese prisoners in Israeli jails."
sam   (07.20.06)
Hello the people who are in Israeli jails are terrorist trying to kill innocent civilians while the two kidnap soldiers were trying to protect civilians from those terrorists who are not in Israeli jails yet!
17. Remember Germany?
Amanda ,   Minneapolis. Mn   (07.20.06)
My Note to Israel Is to Remember Who Is on your side! There are more who are with you than against you. You have no need to fear. All I have to say is Remember Egypt!
18. TO ALL YOU CEASE FIRE PEOPLE
Lane ,   USA   (07.21.06)
How can you implement a cease fire with a terrorist entity? How do you enforce it? To what end does the cease fire serve, when it really doesn't solve the root cause of the conflict? The root cause MUST BE UPROOTED! A cease fire doesn't remove Hizbullah from Lebanon! A cease fire doesn't "defeat" the terrorists! A cease fire doesn't destroy all of Hizbullah's weapons caches. A cease fire is not the same thing as a peace treaty, where all sides sign it as a promise that the hostilities are resolved and ended. The harsh reality is that the only thing that brings forth a lasting peace is to utterly destroy the enemy's ability to wage war against you and secure an unconditional surrender. A cease fire will never achieve anything close to that!
19. A Cease Fire?
Lane ,   USA   (07.21.06)
A cease fire with the terrorists is what WILL BACKFIRE! NOT what Israel is doing now will backfire!
