I think it is pretty clear that the only peaceful solution is also the very next step in the war after Iraq: change of regime in Syria. All Saddam's chemical weapons, and everything that was worthed to baath Iraq was taken to Syria with the consent of the US before the Iraq war. This prevented the US from getting hit with these weapons but it also kept them in baath hands. If the Hezbollah built this in Lebanon, what could have Iran built in Syria? The regime change in Syria is the only way for even a short term peace. Need it done with whatever means!!!
