Time for Israel to bomb those buildings in Syria where the rockets hitting Israel are made and stored.
32. Why Iran's actions are foolish
Bill ,   LONDON, UK   (07.25.06)
Ever heard of the saying "barking dogs seldom bite". This is definitely true of both Iran and Syria. Lets not forget that Syria have never beaten Israel in war. Also lets not forget that Israel has the strongest military in the Middle East and presently has nuclear capabilities, whilst both Syria and Iran do not. Irans recent "barkings" only prove that it has decided to make a big noise in order to give the false impression of superior might. One only needs to look at the previous Arab - Israeli wars to notice that Israel's Arab neighbours always made similar rants (while actually having greater strength) and always lost. On the other hand Israel remains quiet and seems to have been able to crush enemies far greater than them. If Syria is foolish enough to attack Israel, it would probably be disastrous for them. I think Israel's possesion of the Golan Height's will give them a greater advantage. Ahmadinejad has always boasted about how Iran is out of Israel's reach. I think he forgot to realise that there are American troops on two of his borders (Afghanistan and Iraq). If ahmadinejad decides to follow in the footsteps of Sadaam by firing scuds at civilians in Israel, I think he would be making a huge mistake. Because lets not forget Israel has nukes and in a time of stress would more probably use them if they were worried of losing. Also the idea of an American - Israeli ground invasion of Iran would be crippling to Iran. The Americans could intervene because they are worried of Iran giving a nuke to terrorists like al quaeda.
33. "Me" at #4
Me too ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.25.06)
You so sure the U.S. will back Israel if we take on Iran??? Where was the U.S. during Yom Kipur war? And who's been pressuring Israel to make consessions for peace? The U.S. will ONLY and I repeat ONLY support those who give her the oil she needs to maintain her life style. Period. Israel has no oil. The U.S. will sell out Israel before she will her oil friends. I promise you. You watch!

35. #5, couldn't agree more with you
M ,   Belgium   (07.25.06)
They all remind me of that Iraqi Information Minister (talk about a ministry!), what was his name again? Remember, that fool was on TV saying that the US had sustained another heavy defeat and that they weren't even close to reaching Bagdad and you could american tanks rolling over bagdad in the background! Pathetic!
36. attrition
CC ,   NC, USA   (07.25.06)
the hizbollah are greatly over-rated. they make such claims that they have so many missiles and troops, yet they have little more than ineffective katyusha rockets and holes in the ground. when there are 1000 hezbollah left they will claim there is 10,000 and many surprise weapons. when there are 100 hezbollah left, the same will be said. when there are 10 hezbollah, and then only 1 hezbollah, he will still make these big threats, until the cruise missile leaves a 5 meter hole where he was hiding. and then we bring out the good wine.
37. Iran threatens Israel
Christian ,   Charlotte, USA   (07.25.06)
The kook foreign minister says Israel cannot deal w/ Iran; can Iran deal with the USA? We'll see.....
38. Iran-Syria
jpladson ,   Long Beach USA   (07.25.06)
I think these two countries should re-think their thought that, "No place in Israel will be safe." They should speak with Egypt if they really believe "This war will be remembered as the beginning of the end of Israel."
39. Re: Iran will vanish with syria.
Rich ,   NJ, USA   (07.25.06)
Syria will not vanish. They will attempt to change sides before they get toasted. Iran, on the other hand, will become toast within the next couple of years. Bush will address Iran before his term is over.
40. Iranian Threats
Anthony Sanchez ,   Austin Texas USA   (07.25.06)
Iran is like a bully always making threats. Israel is not scared. What can Iran really do? It knows full well that if they attacked Israel, the US will not allow it. One poseidan submarine can destroy Iran in a few minutes. Why do their leaders put their people in danger? I don't know why these Islamic countries are always stirring up trouble, why can't they live in peace with their neighbor. It's a global problem, not just Israel's.
41. Syria fate revealed.
R Washburn ,   Arlington Texas   (07.25.06)
Ezekeal 32 "Assyria is there with her whole army; she is surrounded by the graves of all her slain, all who have fallen by the sword. Their graves are in the depths of the pit and her army lies around her grave. All who had spread terror in the land of the living are slain, fallen by the sword.
42. Genocide statements by Iran govt.
Joaquin Carlos A. ,   Fairfax,CA USA   (07.25.06)
Dear Security Council of U.N.: Who monitors compliance with resolutions that you pass? Why is a government who spews genocidal venom allowed to not only be a member but to exist? The answer will be provided by the Angel of Death 2.0. coming to certain countries.
43. This Guy Has Got To Be Joking
California Bear ,   Berkeley, USA   (07.25.06)
Wow, at first I thought it was just for domestic consumption but I honestly think the Iranian leadership is really buying into its own propaganda that Israel can not retaliate against it. Well when the Jerichos start hitting Teheran the charade will be up.
44. To Karmiel, #33
Howard ,   Chicago USA   (07.25.06)
Just a friendly correction to your statement... Although USA did not diretcly participate in the Yom Kippur War. it sent planeload after planeload of war materiel to Israel around the clock. I saw a number of these planes take off from an air force base in Ohio. For this reason, I always give credit to Richard Nixon, despite his other adventures.
45. Isaiah 17 may be coming to fulfillment
mdeck ,   Langley, USA   (07.25.06)
The prohets words may indicate the following scenario: Syria fires a chem/bio wmd on southwest Jerusalem(Valley of Rephaim). Israel responds with nukes and wipes out Damascus. Mass exodus from Ammon (Aroer) Jordan.
46. Me Too at #33
jpladson ,   long beach usa   (07.25.06)
The U.S will NOT sell out Israel for an oil issue of any kind. Geez we can go off the coast of California for oil or tap Alaska for oil resources that FAR exceed anyone in the middle east.
47. iranian & syrian threats

to me too in post 33. how soon the people of the world forget world war II! every single jew in europe would have been killed by hitler if it werent for the US and its allies. we've been by your side since day one. you need the americans much more than the americans need you. show some respect.
49. "Me too" at #33
Mike ,   South Carolina, USA   (07.25.06)
Me too in Karmiel, the USA will NEVER abandon Israel. We get no oil from her now, never have and never will. Yet, Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid. She has been for decades. The US understands that Israel is surrounded by enemies who seek her destruction. As long as we are able, the US will never allow that to happen. Israel enjoys tremendous support among the American people. Please refrain from making such ludicrous statements.
50. Skip Syria, Go straight to Tehran
Dave ,   USA   (07.25.06)
I think we should go straight to the head of the snake: Iran. Use McArthurs strategy of island hopping to isolate and strand Syria, it's nothing without Iran and will then fall of its's own weight. PS: If Carter hadn't been such a pussy 27 years ago, none of this would have happened. Instead they treat him as a great diplomat!
51. Iran threatens response if Syria attacked
Hans-Joerg Marby ,   Markdorf, Germany   (07.25.06)
Criminals need a strong hand. Wait and see who His wrath will hit next. "Ahmadin das Schaf" is already shivering in his shoes.
52. Isaiah 17 Verse 1
michael ,   Seattle. USA   (07.25.06)
" Damascus will be a ruiness heap " You will see this 2500 year old prophecy come to pass very soon.
53. F the appeasers
James ,   USA   (07.25.06)
What cracks me up is all of the cease fire talk that many European counties are demanding from Israel, where if they were getting attacked they’d protect their sovereign rights and do the same thing. Israel is protecting their right to exist, and I support them 100%. Israel has beaten the odds in 48, 67, 72, etc. and I have faith that this proud country will do it again. I have the utmost respect for Israel and appreciate their policy of restraint unless backed into a corner. Forget world condemnation, they are simply appeasers and cowards. You cannot negotiate with radical Islam, you only need to wipe it out. While I would love to see the Iranian government wiped out, I do not want to see the Iranian people harmed. They show so much promise in countering the mad ideology that the current regime practices. If Iran or Syria do something stupid, I fear they won’t exist. That’s too bad, with all of the barking extremists grabbing the headlines, there are moderates afraid to speak out for fear of their life or jail. I have faith in those moderates to stand up…but when will they do it?
54. Same old Arab talk
DJ ,   Texas, USA   (07.25.06)
These guys all talk the same, and in end they fold like a soggy deck of cards. 1 look at Al-Din does indeed say it all. He looks like Arabic Downs-syndrome case. Tell Corky to STFU realize he and his way of life are coming to an end....soon.
55. UN
DJ ,   TX, USA   (07.25.06)
Don't even waste time trying to appeal to the UN. That corrupt organization needs to be abolished on an international level.
56. # 18 lol
Jacob ,   DC   (07.25.06)
57. # 33.... # 44 is absolutley correct..show respect
Charlie ,   Upset with Zionists   (07.25.06)
Nixon hooked up Israel just when the Arabs took a huge bite out of them. Planeload after planeload came in just when you were about to get hurt, real bad. America supports you, and I do to. Don't be a spoiled child and not appreciate what my Country does for you. You owe us big.
58. Just a bully trying to gain respect on the playground.
Shawn ,   Arlington, Texas   (07.25.06)
When one is scared or is out-matched by an opponent, he/she will do or say whatever possible to maximize an inferior threat. Once the battle begins, a bully will become submissive in a short time. Iran stands no chance to match forces. The sad truth is the mentality of hiding like the cowards they are behind civilians who has no choice but to be caught in the middle.
59. Don't Mess with the Infidels
MC ,   Texas, USA   (07.25.06)
Syria and Iran are about to learn how just how mean the Infidels can get. We put up with only so much, then the feces hits the fan. Better use those evil pea brains of yours and back off, or you'll regret it.
60. Who do you think you are??
Steven ,   Tucson USA   (07.25.06)
Ok great.. so Iran protects Syria and who protects Iran??? I can't believe they had the balls to say the following: "Sheybani added that he thought (Key word THOUGHT)"Israel did not have the ability to deal with Iran's capabilities." Iran, Syria, and all other muslim countries out there that think they can take Israel, let us not forget. They have Nuclear Bombs and if it comes down to losing their country or lauching a nuke, I know they will launch the nukes without hesitation. Then Iran, Syria, and all you other countries who think they are bad enough to take Israel out, you will see their true destructive power and your own demise! You must pay for the 3000 + years the jews have been oppressed. Israel will take no more, but will hand out your free ass whoopin.
