Psalm 83's coincidence with current events should be a warning to Israel's enemies. I'm not religious or superstitious, but there is something very extaordinary about this find.

Interesting since in time when eretz yisrael is in danger, you are supposed to recite tehilim (psalms) 83, 130, 142. As Israel is in danger now many people have been reciting these. Now a book of ancient tehilim is found and exactly open to 83!

Psalm 83 is the one Jews read in times of trouble. Nowadays, in almost all synagogues, after the morning prayer, the prayers stay to recite together this psalm. "Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre" (8) In the original Holy Language: "Pleshet im yoshvei Tzor". The current Palestinians are named after the region called "Pleshet", or "Eretz Pelishtim". The Ishmaelites are the current Arabs. Naseralla. He launched the last aggresion against the Jews in the pretext of helping the Palestinians. He controlls Southern Lebanon, which Tzor (Tyre} is its main city. From Tzor are launched the missiles that hit daily the citizens of Haifa and Western Galilee.

Wonderful news -- both the discovery of the psalms and the finding that it was open to Psalm 83. I'm Catholic and am praying the rosary daily for Israel.

As mentioned in talkback #10, the psalm in newadvent is not the same as the psalm 83. In the numbering used in the newadvent psalm 83 is psalm 82. I think the difference in number arose in the Douay-Rheims translation. (I have a book at home explaining it, but don't have it with me).

The new advent does use the Catholic bibles numbering. the website explains the differences in numbering between it and the Hebrew Bible (the psalms are the same, but with different numbers). Here's a snippet. The printed Hebrew Bible lists 150 psalms. Fewer are given by some Massoretic MSS. The older Septuagint MSS. (Codd. Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, and Alexandrinus) give 151, but expressly state that the last psalm is not canonical: "This psalm was written by David with his own hand and is outside the number", exothen tou arithmou. The Vulgate follows the numeration of the Septuagint but omits Ps. cli. I have been reading this Psalm for the past several days. Last evening I talked with some other folk who have also had this Psalm jump out at them, seeing the prophetic relevance of it for this present time of trouble for the Jewish people......and then I go online and see the news article of the Psalms found in Irish bog and stuck opened to Psalm 83 nonetheless! My spirit jumped in me let me tell you! The Lord will proclaim His Word in this hour, even without human voice! The Lord of Hosts is the Salvation of His People.

Viewing the postbacks, which hold to a decidedly premillenial, Judeo-Christian view, let's not forget that the peoples comprising Sythians and Cimmerians trace their lineage to Jacob - with historical evidences such as the Behistun stones, the Assyrian tablets as well as Irish lore and etymology. This is devine intervention and a reminder that despite all the suffering and the hardships that his People of Israel are enduring, The All-Mighty is watching over them and they will prevail!

I am familiar with Psalm 83. It's amongst the ones that were traditionally by read Jewish people at time of trouble. It's a Miracle as far as I am concerned. It's a reminder that The Lord had not forgotten Israel.
