There are major changes afoot to Canadian immigration and citizenship laws. Not a moment too soon. Too many moments too late, unfortunately.

If he's guilty - Hang him.

The sooner Israel stops fooling herself that: 1. "Israeli Arabs" and 2. Bedouins are as pro-Israel as the rest of our citizens, the better. These groups have no reason to feel patriotic towards Israel (the benefits of being an Israeli citizen are not always sufficient!) and a great percentage of them are only in for the ride. Although Israel has done much to improve the plight of the bedouins in the Negev desert, we consistently misjudge and misread other cultures and what motivates the people. This is to our detriment. This being said : any kind of treason, as Talula puts it, is deplorable. If you don't like the country, get out. Or, find some other, more constructive way of building our multi-cultured country together.

Let's see now, 20% of Israelis are not Jews; 16% of them are Muslims. Yes, there's discrimination at ground level, as there is in every country, but they otherwise have more rights than they do in most Arabic countries (Palestinians are third-class citizens in Jordan and elsewhere). So maybe you could let us know of a Muslim country with 20% non-Muslims, the majority of them Jews, who have full rights of citizenship. You're the ones with the apartheid and racist countries. Don't kid yourselves. It's not open societies you're fighting for here. It's islamofascist, closed ones.

Another example of biased reporting on this site. They make it seems as if this guy was some sort of undercover agent in diguise. Here's the real story: "A Canadian-Israeli professor has been held by Israeli authorities for 18 days without access to a lawyer, on suspicion of spying for Hezbollah and Iranian intelligence agents. A gag order on the case was lifted Wednesday after Haaretz appealed to Nazareth Magistrates Court. Professor Ghazi Falah was arrested while touring the Rosh Hanikra area, on July 8, four days before the outbreak of the current conflict in Lebanon. He was approached by individuals who identified themselves as security officials, and who instructed him to stop photographing. Falah refused, and after an argument, was arrested. Falah, a professor of geography at the University of Akron, said he had taken the pictures as part of his acadmic research." http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/743154.html

Indeed and it's surprising your comment got through, mine keep getting censored. I wonder what these apologists and ultra biased comment posters were saying when it was the Mossad caught operating throughout Europe and Asia with Canadian passports.

This doesn't seem any more "the real story," it just has a few other details and a different spin. We still have no idea whether there's any truth to the suspicion he was spying.

Ghazi Falah's actions sound more suspicious in the Haaretz rendition than YNet's. What kind of geography professor would not understand the danger inherit in photographing active military sites esp after being asked not to. If it were for academic research you'd think he'd ask the appropriate officials for permission prior. Possibly you have a filter of contempt through which you want to view Israel
