1. Unacceptable?
Evgeniy ,   NYC, US   (07.26.06)
Wow, Iran demanding? Iran issuing statements? It doesn't sound like a war cry anymore, rather a begging to have their lives be spared. They are really scared, aren't they? Everyone who promised hard days for Israel, can you smell the smell? Yep, it doesn't smell good for you. Don't think so? Ask Ahmadinejad, he knows what I'm talking about.
2. This is proof

This guy is a whack job ... and Hezbollah must be losing really bad.
3. Add Khizb-Allah to Iran's Plea for a cease-fire
(07.26.06)
Now's the time to put it to them until we put them out of business and kill Nasrallah. It is already a New Middle East because our enemies realize that we're not going to be docile victims anymore. Don't even think about a cease-fire until Gilad Shalit, Eldad Regev, Ehud Goldwasser, Zacharia Baumel, Yehuda Katz, Tzvi Feldman, Ron Arad and Guy Haver are home. Shoshana Rubin ,   Nokem   (07.26.06)
That's the only way to translate mullah Ahmadinejad.....what should Israel do? Keep going, Yesha....you're beating the said Islamic killers......Yesha is the only power in the world brave enough to get out the broom and sweep out the hornet's nest. Brave Yesha!
5. jealousy - he theinks HE should carve up the middle east
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (07.26.06)
after all, he is the 'chosen one'.
6. Guess who just blinked...
Greg ,   Dallas TX USA   (07.26.06)
Looks like the Mad Dog of Tehran is having second thoughts about the wisdom of taking on the Israelis. He's only interested in a ceasefire because his dogs are losing. Forget about it. Keep the pressure on until Hezbollah is either wiped out or severely crippled.
7. Oh, Iranian fool...

...your mouth continues to sow the wind. Are you prepared for what you will reap?
8. If he wants a ceasefire he could get a ceasefire!
Chris ,   Washington, DC   (07.26.06)
All he needs to do is pick up the phone call Nasrallah and tell him to free the the captive soldiers, stop firing on Israel and agree to lay down his weapons within a fixed amount of time. Within moments of a statement to that effect, the cessation of the Katyushas and the hostages being freed Israel will stop firing. Also, while we all feel for Mr. Siniora, why is he demanding that in order settle this conflict Israel must "return" shebaa farms? It is only since 2000 that Lebanon started claiming, that Shebaa farms is part of Lebanon. If he is so interested in ending this conflict and the destruction of his country why is he making such unrealistic demands. He also asked that 3 lebanese citizens be freed from Israeli prisons and that Israel give Lebanon a map of the location of all landmines in southern Lebanon. He is asking Israel to give Hezbollah more than what it had before it attacked Israel. He is asking Israel to reward Hezbollah for its unprovoked, barbaric and criminal acts. And finally he should know that these demands are completely unrealistic. Israel would never do all of that. Again, if he really cared for his country he would not make such impossible requests. It is tragic that the leaders of the Arab act in such a way that is completely contrary to the interests of their population.
9. Ahmadinejad knows his is about to be ousted.
sk ,   USA   (07.26.06)
Yup, he has probably already figured out that he has lost. Via Lebanon, he has finally given Bush an opportunity to defang Iran. It is hard to see how any likely result of this war could save him or the Guardian Council for that matter. With 90+% of the population absolutely loathing the regime, this is no time for the regime to look weak, but that is exactly what it will increasingly look like.
10. Ireland worker finds ancient psalms in bog
Evgeniy ,   NYC, US   (07.26.06)
Quote from the article: "The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel." and link http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3281564,00.html Isn't it an amazing "coincidence"?
11. projection
BS meter ,   Canada   (07.26.06)
Looks to me more like it's Iran that wants to recarve power in teh Middle East. He is a pathological liar, besides being a plain psychopath.
12. Satan speaks out
Talula ,   Israel   (07.26.06)
Ahmadinejad is for SURE a crazy schizophrenic sociopath. One day he threatens, the next he wants a ceasefire???????
13. All are playing with Israel and lebonan
Faisal ,   Hyderabad India   (07.26.06)
All wants to play their games in here and want to show that they are important players from some where. This war might have ended very fast i think in one week only but every one wants to make it longer, some in the name of freedom , some in the name of resistance. So all revenges and hate is coming out in this war. Hizbullah is fighting for its pride in front of all arabs and whole world and Israel to show its power and prove that its still a regional power in middle east . But from all sides humanity is paying the price and peoples from both sides are dieing. May God give power to all those who have lost beloved in this war ... Amen
14. If the genocidal madman wants a ceasefire........
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (07.26.06)
..........then it would seem that the tide of the Hizbullah terror war is turning in Israel's favour. Large numbers of Iranians have been aiding Hizbullah and perhaps Ahmadinejad is getting concerned about the increasing death toll.

23. What a scum-bag punk
Sheikh yer Bu'Tay ,   USA   (07.26.06)
Ahmadinejad has talked war with Israel from before he became Iran's president. Now that the war he wanted so badly has started he cries like a baby for a cease fire. Why? Not because he wants peace, but because his side was caught off guard. They miscalculated. Now they want more time to prepare, to resupply, to jocky for a better position. There is a two state peace solution: Israel and the Palestinian state of Jordan! That is how it was originally set up before WWII in the British mandate. That is how it should be. Learn how to get along, people! There will be no victors at the end of WWIII, only survivors.
24. #23
Sheik Abdul Reboundr ,   USA   (07.26.06)
Didn't we both play for the Lakers back in the 80's? What we are witnessing in Lebanon is a microcosim of the global war that has been building for the last 25years or so. Israel is not fighting Hizbullah, it is an Iranian and Syrian war against the West. Islamofacism is spreading like a wildfire through the world. Much like the facism of Germany, Italy and Japan in the 1930s and 1940's. The world leaders back then tried to appease and make peace to no avail. When it was all said and done, the free world had to stand in the face of evil and defeat it at the cost of millions of lives. This is not WW3 it is WW1. It is the original war of mankind that started when Isaac, not Ishmael, was given the birthright by Abraham. Mohammad had his venemous dreams in the desert and WW1 has raged ever since. The final sides in this war are about to be chosen. The armies of peace and freedom will have to face the armies of oppression and murder. It will be bloody and stretch across the entire globe. G-D save us.

Michael A. Thomas ,   Gaithersburg MD   (07.27.06)
What if Isreal continues to take out Hizbullah until Syria and Iran feel compelled to get in? Then, can Israel finally go in and take out Iran's Nukes since the "peace seekers' are so imcompetent to do anything about it?
29. Ahmadinejad cannot walk the talk
Warrior ,   Gainesville, USA   (07.27.06)
Ahmadinejad cannot walk the talk. He is using psychological operations warfare techniques to threat people. They use terrorist to demean people but it is not working. Lebannon and Israelites shall work together to make peace and get rid of all the cockroaches.
30. To #29
Deborah ,   Boston, USA   (07.27.06)
Not to be overly pc, but cockroaches was the term used in Rwanda to massacre 1m innocent people...makes me shiver when I read it, particularly since that is what so many in the world would *love* to believe Israel wants to do. Aside from that, can't agree more with you -- hopefully the day will come when this psychopath has been overturned and reasonable leaders run Iran.
