Benjamin Fleischmann ,   New York, New York   (07.27.06)
I really do not understand why the IDF need this propaganda so much. Just go out there and fight, like I did in the 67 war en the Yom Kippur war. We didn't rely on propaganda then, we just fought hard. The IDF have become very weak and Hizbullah have become very strong. It will be impossible to defat them. Just negotiate with them, because on the ground they are far more superior than we are. Benjamin Fleishmann.

3. IDF ,fight nice ,you lose !
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.27.06)
Israel's political leaders are more concerned about having permission and gree light's to semi-defeat hezbollah, and this is recipie for disaster. This new and degraded IDF is not permitted to crush the enemy ,but the mission is to keep the U.S. President who holds the red light over Israel's head happy. The first thing the IDF needs to do is blow up the green/red light and get er done completely defeating Hezbollah and not listen to the propaganda which says it cannot be done !
4. Enough "goodie two-shoes"...
Earl Mann ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.27.06)
Having already issued warnings to the [Shia] population in South Lebanon to get out -- why do we continue to risk the lives of our brave soldiers by going "door to door" and allowing them to be ambushed. This is lunacy. I remind you, this a war zone. Blast the bastards, and level the homes and hiding places of Hizbollah wherever you find them. Let's start fighting smarter...Kofi and his crew will complain, regardless.
5. My condolences
Ana ,   Spain   (07.27.06)
My condolences to the families of the brave soldiers who died defending their people and their country. They are heroes. G-d bless you

RA   (07.27.06)
Why not just go live in Syria where you clearly would feel at home. Your pathetic defeatist appeasing type is the reason we are at war in Lebanon right now.
9. Benjamin Fleischmann,
AK   (07.27.06)
You're having a heat stroke and talking nonsense. You don't negotiate with terrorists -- you kill them. " ...[on] the ground they (Hezbollah) are far more superior than we are. " Hee, hee...hee...hee, you've truly lost your mind.
10. #1 YOU are the propagandist
Haifa, Israel   (07.27.06)
11. So Even soldiers Captured in Battle in Lebanon Are
World Citizen ,   the world   (07.27.06)
considered kidnapped? Sorry captured in battle is POW status pure and simple. Ynet your propaganda filters are right there glaring at us. Do you expect us to fall for it?

13. US WWII Casualties Were Highest When Winning
Bozoer Rebbe ,   Motown, USA   (07.27.06)
One of the successes of the US antiwar left during Vietnam was painting the Tet Offensive of 1968 as a US defeat. Factually, the VC was eliminated as an effective fighting force and the North Vietnamese lost 20,000 troops. However, this came at the cost of 400-500 US soldiers a week, so the media was able to paint this as a defeat. For some perspectve, during WWII, from Pearl Harbor to V-J day, the US lost an average of over 400 men a day. US casualties in WWII were hightest when we were unarguably "winning" the war, island hopping in the South Pacific. I believe we lost 12,000 men in three months on Okinawa. Clearing out bunkers amidst a hostile civilian population is a necessary, terribly costly operation. Hezbollah is in fortified bunkers. "“Fixed fortifications are monuments to man's stupidity.” Geo. Patton
14. IT SEEMS MORE JEWS ARE CALLING FOR WAR !
Ryan ,   Chicago, IL, USA   (07.27.06)
It is unfortunate to see how many people write talkbacks that ask for war, killing, and more suffering. The people of the Middle East have endured long years of war and suffering, especially in Palestine, Israel, and Lebanon. The Lebanese people do not deserve what is happening to them now. Isreal is using collective punishmnet tactics and killing innocent civilans daily. Israel thinks that it will be able to crush Hizballah and turn the Lebanese people against them. This is just an illusion. Instead of calling for war and destruction, people should call for cease-fire, peace, and justice in the middle east. STOP THE WAR, STOP THE HATE, ENOUGH PEOPLE KILLED !

Hillel ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.27.06)
Fool, when POW's are treated like POW's by militant groups according to the Geneva Conventions, then we may consider them POWs. They are kidnapped and likely to be tortured and/or murdered. Get a clue.
16. Other World Citizen is Confused
Real World Citizen   (07.27.06)
World Citizen, if soldiers captured in battle are POWs, please tell us why the soldiers who were "taken prisoner" in the initial Hizbullah attack have not been seen or heard from and have not had the Red Cross visit them?
17. The soliders success...

19. 1. Not Quite The Story
S Judah ,   London   (07.27.06)
I would venture to suggest that Hizbullah have been hit a lot harder then is reported in the International Media, where Lebenon only appears to report civilian casualties. That it self is questionable as Hizbullah fight and hide amongst civilians . It will take longer as Israel for various reasons are only committing minimal ground forces at present. The end result is not in doubt.
20. Fllaten south of Lebanon and safe passage to ground troops
e.m ,   s.f   (07.27.06)
IDF knew the Hezbollah are in that areas but they went inside of building .Why the air force did not bomb the building? Use the air force and destroys all the building and save the life of our soldiers. Why it is ok to destroy the buildings in south of. Beirut and not there? What kind of strategist is that? Flattens the entire South of Lebanon by bombs and clears all ambush and traps for the ground groups By the way IDF has sophisticated x-ray camera that can check all the movement inside of building, What is going on? Colonel Boukharis 100%wright. Everyone needs to understand that this is really war between a state that wants to exist and a blood-thirsty terror group that wants to kill
21. Conclusions from Facts
Lionel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.27.06)
An army that fights with excellent forces and tanks with the assistance of an air force cannot go into a village directly on the border except after a battle that has continued for days with great losses against a number of opposition fighters is a failed and defeated army. Conclusion: Israeli people will live with continuos fear, our life is permanently destabilized. Israel has no safe future under Olmert, Peretz and Halutz leadership.
22. Golani Brigade
Paul I.Adams ,   Concord, USA   (07.27.06)

23. #11 needs to wake up
Reason ,   Canada   (07.27.06)
Here is the difference between a kidnapped soldier and a POW. A POW will be returned after a war in decent shape. A kidnapped soldier will be most likely be beheaded and dragged through the streets by G-dless monsters like Hezbollah. Get it straight man.
24. It's time to finish Hezbullah.
Ken ,   Arizona, USA   (07.27.06)
Follow this through and finish it. You have more support than you think. When is the Iranian embassy going to blow?

The mighty Israeli army can no longer go on after getting a bloody nose in Bint Jbeil.I suggest they stick to easy targets like Gaza.
30. #21 Lionel thank you | #23 Reason
diala ,   Beirut Lebanon   (07.28.06)
#21 Lionel , what you are saying is the truth, do u think we are happy about what is happening, the best thing to do is leave israel and go back to your mother country, live in peace with yourself and the world ;) believe me muslims have no problem with any kind of relegion, but the problem in the middle east is Israel specifically only not jews, Jews and christians are 2 of the 3 relegions sent by god, first jeudaism then christianity and after that islam... #23 Reason, you've been missinformed my friend, Hizbullah took war isreali prisioners (only soldiers or officers) just to swap with our prisioners, those prisioners were treated very well, not like israel prisioners who suffered to death in israeli prisons .... sitting in canada and talking about Hizbullah (i don't know if you know who they are in the first place lol) is mean lol stupid
