Jumblatt knows the situation and is a shrewed observer. He won't ally with Israel and would rather be a "hostage" in Lebanon rather that form peace alliance with Israel. Lebanon would be smart to sign mutual defense pact with Israel, then help Israel smash Syria. Lebanon not smart.

Let me get one thing straight! Regardless of my support for hizbullah, which i do not need to justify for anyone, IF SYRIA TRIES TO COME BACK INTO LEBANON AGAIN, I WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO TAKE UP ARMS AND FIGHT AGAINST IT!!!

KS, I can tell you support Hizbollah but they arent for Lebanon, they are with Syria and Iran. Which is foreign domination by their means. Its a shame as Lebanon and Israel could be such friends and show the middle east that peace CAN be acheived. I just wish Hizbollah would realise this, but they wont and especially Nasrallah.. He is a puppet of Iran and Syria. But i do agree with Mr Jumblatt, that Syria will try to get back in to Lebanon and that would be a disaster for everyone.

I'm a lebanese christians and i can assure everybody who are reading this artilce that 75% of lebanese have the same opinion with Jumblat. We don't want to pay the price for Syrian and Iranians. Jumblatt sold the blood of his father when syria was in Lebanon. And now he is selling his own country for Israel and USA. This attack over Lebanon is a trap for syria and Iran but these country are much smarter to fall into it. When Hizbullah wins Jumblat will turn to ask them to ally with him. He has been always like this.

Unfortunately I should agree with you. Israel turned down their allies, and unfortunately, not just in Lebanon. Too much Israeli politicians prefer to be "wise" instead of been "right". And I say: "be right, this is the strategic wisdom". Your "wise" brings maximum tactical advantage. You can win the battle, but you will loose the war. However, there is hope: it makes difference to take side in civil war or to ally with government. If Lebanon will ally with US, EU, Israel to get rid of Iran and Syria - this will work. It is decision of Lebanese people and they should make their choice. It is impossible to sit on two chairs. If you try you get the worst of both ....

Good Iran may be testing Israelis military might, but l know that the glove IDF has for Hamas is not the glove it has for Hizbullah and the glove for Syria is different from that of Hizbullah and in it all ,IDF has reserved very hard glove for Iran.
