Leo ,   Canada   (07.31.06)
I can't get it - why give to Iran a time for something that they already reject??
2. Nuke Iran
Mike Rice ,   Idaho,Usa   (07.31.06)
Before it has a chance to nuke us. This will put a stop to a lot of the problems that Israel is now facing. Without all those rockets and funding, Hizbullah will run out of gas real quick. To hell with world opinion.....
3. The UNSC has a sense of humour
Arie   (07.31.06)
Given the history of the UN complicity in muHAMedan genocide, I presume this is just another act in the Shakespearian tregedy known as the UN
4. Iran's Intentions are to be fully operational
Mary   (07.31.06)
and ready to hit US, ISRAEL AND WHOEVER DISAGREES WITH THEIR INSANE IDIOLOGY. TIME WILL GIVE THEM THE ABILITY TO GAIN LEVERAGE OVER THE MIDDLE EAST AND WEST. ANY DUMBASS CAN SEE THIS.
5. we need iranian nuclear
Michel ,   Paris   (07.31.06)
the world need the nuclear power of iran to stabilize all the midle east this is a "necessary" balance
6. Irans intentions. Whats the betting...
C H ,   London   (07.31.06)
Whats the betting that Iran test fires a nuclear device by the third week of August 06 to 'cock a snoop' to the rest of the world. Once that happens it will announce to the world a set of demands or else....
7. spineless UN as always.
Jim ,   NYC   (07.31.06)
Dont worry Iran..the UN is feckless. They have no teeth, you can continue to do whatever you want and the world knows it , but are too lazy and too stupid to end the UNs fiasco like existence. My dream: to see Kofi Annan and his son dragged naked through the streets to their executions for being peace criminals.

9. No Nukes in the Middle East
Rahn W. ,   Vancouver, BC   (07.31.06)
It must be a condition of the UN that Israel is stripped of it's nuclear weapons, if it is too apply to Iran. Case closed. How can the UN and world not demand that Israel dismantle it's nukes, who is also a similar threat, and uses threats of weapons of mass destruction as it's final threat, so it can bully it's way around the middle east. Shame on Israel!!! Wouldn't it be easier for Israel to get the world involved in a final peace in the region and then if the Arabs wreck it, then at least Israel can claim it tried to the bitter end? And without the lying, cheating and thievery involved by all sides..

12. #5 Need Iran to be nuclear???
Billie ,   Florida, USA   (07.31.06)
An unimaginable declaration: nuclear Iran would provide balance in the Middle East. Are you devoid of rational thought? To achieve any lasting peace in that region of the world, Iran must be destroyed. The only nuke for Iran should be incoming from US or Israel. Sooner rather than later.
13. Nuke Iran
Mike Rice ,   Idaho,Usa   (07.31.06)
Iran needs to be dealt with in such a way that it can never again be a threat to anyone or the cause of so much bloodshed in the middle east or elsewhere. If this does not happen they will get nukes and use them on Israel and/or the USA. Rest assured that they have no peaceful or harmless intentions. Their entire goal is the destruction of Israel and the USA. To H*LL with world opinion.
14. if Bolton is on IsraĆ«ls's side

15. Aug. 22 Looms Large
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (07.31.06)
All of this UN blather will come to naught. Chances are that on Aug 22 the Iranian regime will announce that it has completed the uranium enrichment cycle. This will not phase the Chinese, Russians and some Euros one iota. They are counting on Iran nuking Israel & the US through direct hits or through proxies. That is why they are not stopping them. The financial considerations are just part of their considerations.

Jesus ,   SF, USA   (07.31.06)
Rahn...first off...Israel already tried your idea of giving the world and peace a chance. It pulled out of the territories, gave back lands, and tried to live in peace. What did that get them...nothing but strife. They continued to get bombarded and where even told to give up more. Do you see what I'm getting at? Second...Unlike Iran...Israel is not saying she's going to wipe anyone off the face of the earth, or take over the world with her beliefs. Third...Israel does have nuclear capabaility...yes we all know that. When was the last time she used her nuclear weapons? My point made...she has not used them and I highly doubt Israel is dumb enough to use them...unless she's threatened by the same. The whole thing about Iran is the fact that you have a crazy president over there that is throwing out words of wiping peoples off the face of the earth, taking over the world with its belief system, taking over Europe. If it was only for energy purposes, why then would they not allow on the spot inspection. What are they hiding? They want trust...show you can be trusted first. Let me ask you...If I told you that I wanted to irradicate you, your family, loved ones, friends, people you know. Then I told the world that I'm enriching uranium, but it's only for energy purposes. Would you trust me and allow me to continue to enrich the uranium...even after I denied spot inspections? I hope that puts things in perspective for ya? Cheers!
18. Meaningless Resolution
alan ,   frisco   (07.31.06)
Giving Iran one more month to stock pile more plutonium makes as much sense as giving Hitler the Sudentenland. Our weakness toward Iran will result in a terror state possessing the ultimate weapon. Demand your politicians threaten to turn Iran to glass unless it opens its facilities to massive US inspection now and vows never to try to develop nukes again.

21.  Response To Jesus #9
Rahn W. ,   Vancouver, BC   (08.01.06)
Thanks J for your reasonable and rational reply. The best hope for the entire region was a peaceful and prosperous 'Palestinian' state along side Israel. A semi secular vibrant successful Palestinian state would have set the Arab mid east on fire with a desire for justice and equality. Bombing Lebanon into the 19th century will actually have the reverse effect of what Israel really needs and it will only create more hatred and strife for everyone involved, including Israel. The solution is of course what was mandated in The Balfour Declaration in 1917, and what the UN mandated in 1948. This was a two state solution that would address the needs of the global Jewish issues after WW2 and the 'Palestinian' Arab issue at the end of the Turkish-British mandate. A return to that two state plan is the only viable option that will have any traction for an enduring peace, since it is sown into the fabric of history. Of course, as history recalls, the Arabs declined the offer and declared war in '48. So yes, you are fighting an uphill battle against a mindset that is not accepting of that. But there is no other choices, other than a continuation of the status quo, forever if no attempt at peace is made. And sooner or later, a a desperate enemy will do what it can, and it may not be pleasant in a future Israel. If Lebanon and Palestine were now successful states, Israel would have it's long term security, and the Arab world would now be evolving into the examples of successful states such as what Palestine and Lebanon could have been. Unfortunately, sinister forces have prevailed on all sides, defeating this peace and Israel has taken the bait, and ensured a longer deeper conflict. However, it does now clear the way for a global imposed peace, upon which all sides should strive to endure. I trust you will make one last attempt at a lasting peace that ensures everyone's long term safety?

Another worthless document from an infidel organization the criminal government of Iran will simply ignore to buy more time to develop its weapons program. Like I always say, take the puppet masters in Iran, send them to Allah, and let him sort them out.

It is a shame that your country's leadership is the way it is. The fact is that if Iran gets nukes, they will shoot them all over the place because that president is crazy, and he has sworn destruction of Israel and the US, then he turns around and says "we only want nukes for peaceful purposes." It's like the guy talks out of both sides of his mouth. He wants us to believe his promises without basing our judgement on all the other stuff he says. You can't have your cake and eat it too, know wut I mean Vern? I'm sure there are very good people in every country, but their lives are ruined by the poor leadership of their country's leaders. That is truly a shame. The best thing that could happen is for an Iranian to assassinate that guy.
