61. Not a Massacare
Dino ,   USA   (08.01.06)
For those you who don't know the meaning of "massacre", here is a dictionary defition: "The act or an instance of killing a large number of humans indiscriminately and cruelly" The IAF uses precision bombs in an attempt to hit only a specific target, so it wasn't indiscriminately, nor cuelly. Hezbollah on the other hand is launching unguided rockets into Israeli cities in an attempt to indiscriminately kill people, as well as cruelly: those rockets contain a very large number of metalic balls, so a person near a hit-zone would be hit by a barage of them, as if he was instantly shot by dozens of bullets. Furthermore, video evidence clearly shows Hezbollah launching outside of Qana, and then retreating into the village to hide their launching gear. So in conclusion, don't be coy about this whole issue -- it was Hezbollah's fault, and now they are indeed milking it for all it worth with that body parade.

This war is very important to Hizbullah-and they are losing it. I think they would not hesitate to do ANYTHING to improve their position.

This is for the skeptic which posted #57. I recommend you watch two videos regarding Pallywood: http://www.seconddraft.org/movies.php Also, check the other links available in the post on the top of this page: http://michellemalkin.com/archives/2006_07.htm After you've done your homework, then come back and make some sensible comments.

(08.01.06)
Oh wow... you got me there. I mean what further proof do I than Michelle Malkin and some other right wing website? After all them and the Israeli FM are God's given truth! If you want I could link you to some convincing sites by some left-wing wackos who think Sept. 11th was a staged demolition. You see this falls under the same category as saying Sept. 11th was an inside job. It classifies you as a wacko and deminishes your credibility to nearly zero. I mean this is the problem with the Middle East, everyone always blames the other side no matter what they do. Just because some right-wing blogs say the photos were staged does not make it true!
66. To the Anonymous Coward #65
Dino ,   USA   (08.01.06)
First of all, how about not posting as an anonymous? Are you afraid of something? Second thing, I'm far away from the right-wing crowd you wish to associate me with. I would just say I'm someone capable independent thinking. (There is nothing really to be read in leftist-blogs, except for apologetic nonsense, and a lot of bickering about children, etc.) The fact that the video made available by the IAF is available on Hotair does not label it a fake. If you'd like to argue that it's not the Hezbollah firing rockets, and then quickly hiding in the village, in that video, then please provide some real arguments. Also, if that raw footage of the events at Nezarim -- along with the supposed death of Mohamed al Durah -- did not convince you that there is something really suspicious about (at least) some of the video clips coming from Gaza and Lebanon, then I'm afraid I am one time machine short of accomodating you a front row seat at Netzarim. To reiterate: give us something tangible, instead of discounting other evidence since it was linked to by some "right-wing wackos".
67. How will you feel then?
Jesus ,   SF, USA   (08.01.06)
When there might be possible doubt with certainity...would you not question it? Or would you be blind to the possibility of the truth and accept what you are told to accept? It is not that it's a conspiracy...it's rather the fact that Hizbullah has been caught staging such autracities before. There isn't any UFO's or Loch Ness monsters here...there are photographs. That's why an investigation is being brought forth. Photographs that capture things that people might miss. {hotographs that might be telling a different side of the story. It is a sad thing to see, but you need to question and ask, "Why were they there? Why were people charging money to use their cars to leave the area? Why did Hizbullah fire rockets from that area knowing very well Israel would target them? Moments like these is when you must let go of your emotions and start questioning objectively. If you involve emotions into your thought, you won't be in control and will only be blinded by what you feel. How then, if this is proven that Hizbullah did stage this, would you feel about it? Would you continue supporting Hizbullah? Or would you then reconsider that you might have been wrong. If you are wrong, what will you do to make it not wrong? Don't always swallow what is fed to you...it might be poison. Question it if you have any doubts otherwise...you just might be eating lies.

I'm reading those asking "don't you think the Israelis EVER do anything wrong? Well, yeah. The issue is whether they ALWAYS do EVERYTHING wrong, which is what you haters of Israel always say.

72. Hezbullah is the one that violates Intl. Law
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (08.01.06)
Hezbollah's treatment of both Israeli and Lebanese civilians violates international law. Article 51 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention states that: "The civilian population as such, as well as individual civilians, shall not be the subject of attack." Moreover, by using Lebanese civilians as human shields, Hezbollah violates Article 58 of Protocol 1, which requires parties to a conflict to "Avoid locating military objectives within or near densely populated areas." Article 28 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: "The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations."

The Lebanese prisoners in Israel are criminals, and Israel has a right to treat them as such. Shebaa Farms is, according to teh UN, Syrian land. And the mines maps have already been given to you; this, too, has been verified by the UN. As one Israeli already said, "We'd be glad to give them to you again, with an appropriate photo-op."
76. Stacie's madness
Richard Bronstein ,   Calgary, Canada   (08.03.06)
As the death toll in Qana falls, one is reminded of the "Jenin Massacre." PLA spokesman Saeb Erkat said hundreds were killed. The PLA rep at the UN called it "the massacre of the 21 century." Turns out in the end 56 Palestinians, mostly gunmen, and 23 Israeli soldiers died in that clash. While I think Qana was a tragic mistake, it was about the same number of people killed by the Netanya suicide bomber. One of the first elements of human dignity is to try and speak the truth to power. Hezbollah, a private army with 10,000 missiles, started this war and many Lebanese are paying for it. That is the madness.
77. RE: Conspiracy Theories
Bill ,   Dayton, OH USA   (08.06.06)
Whether the deaths are staged or real, caused by Israel or Hizbollah, civilians are unfortunately going to be killed during war. I'm not happy by that fact, but Israel is, whether you believe it or not, taking care as to not target civilians. Hizbollah is not taking these same precautions. I am not trying to write off anyone's suffering, but many more civilians are going to die before the Radical Islamists finally decide to accept the fact that Israel is going to defend it's land, and it's right to exist.
78. Who's to blame....
James ,   Dallas, Texas   (08.06.06)
According to the Geneva convention, if you are placing military infrastructure in a civilian area, YOU are to blame when your enemies attack it. Not to mention, Hezbolluh started the war.
79. Hizbullah 'milked' Qana attack
Stepwolf   (08.07.06)
To ALL Who are concerned! Please, never ever forget that it was muslim tactic to kill their own people if this will help to demonize their enemies. Remeber catastrophy in the cinema in Tehran during Homeini`s way to trone. And one more: the same pattern was used in Qana as once used in Kosovo village RACHAK * (in Janury 1999). In Rachak, then part of Serbia terrorists were attacked by law forces and mostly killed. However, international monitors stopped police to photo and investigate bodies for one night. The day after: totally diffrerent picture which helped UCK to demonize Serbs authorities and consequently the Nato started its air raids in March 1999. Never believe that what You see is the same what really is to e seen, especially NOT if doing anything with Muslims especially Fundamentalists and mostly of terrorists linked on one way or anotjer with Al-Kaida. Oh, forgot to tell: during event in Rachak many UCK terrorists seized by police claimed that Usama Bin Laden was there once after he ran out from Bosnia in 1995, 1996, 1998. So, in a word: I feel sorry for ANY deadly wounded creature, even little cat slept from tree but in THIS case, Qana is just another Rachak like event cooked in the same kitchen, whose Master is dedicated to destroy Israel and US. EU would rather not forget the words from Bin Laden, given to the journalist in 1996: " My personal aim is to block US , to destroy Israel and to settle into conqurred beautiful Spain and France Azurre Coast!"

we in america have a lot of different countries that sell us things, like cars. do we blame the germans or the japanese when someone gets drunk and kills an american in their automobiles? guns don't kill people people kill people. when you blame an object for people's action you need to rethink what is the problem?

82. Conspiracies?
J ,   Nevada, USA   (08.09.06)
It's fascinating to me how this terrorist group, whose stated objective is to annihilate Israel (and the rest of the western world, in due time) can stage events to make Israel look bad over and over and over again, and every time the media picks up on it and runs with it. Then the rest of the media-watching world eats it like candy. You liberals need to understand that Hizbollah is a group of thugs that will sell you any story that portrays Israel in a negative light. They will make up the most outrageous stories, take pictures, videos, and use your willingness to believe them to use you against Israel. We see it now with all this talk of a cease-fire. Cease-fire should not be an option. But with all these pictures and reports of all the poor Lebanese civilians, it's probably going to happen. Hizbollah sets itself up in areas that will attract attention when action is taken against them. What better way to turn the world against Israel! Hide in a civilian village, in a crowded building, and wait for a bomb to fall on it! Of course the focus will be on the civilians, not the Hizbollah thugs that were using it to lob rockets into Israel civilian areas. Israel should continue to bomb and do WHATEVER IT TAKES to annihilate Hizbollah so this does not happen again. A cease-fire will only stop the problem for a small period of time. The next time Hizbollah decides to attack, it will be with bigger weapons, which will result in a bigger response. And for you strange ones out there that believe 9/11 was the result/cause/plan/order of Bush, there have been multiple studies to disprove every point on it. Common sense will shroud it with question marks. What the hell do you expect to happen to a building that is impacted by a jet airliner that EXPLODES when it hits the building and catches everything on fire? I can disprove the "there was a bomb blast because of the dust shooting out of the window" in my back yard with sand and a piece of cardboard or plywood. To compare 9/11 and this staged event put on by infamous stagers, liars, and manipulators is ridiculous. The 9/11 conspiracy is already dead, the reason the towers fell has been proven to be the jets and massive weight of the stories above the jets when it came down. On the other hand, a terrorist group known for staging and plotting events to further their cause by discrediting their enemy, should be looked at with suspicion. It's refreshing to see how far some of you have to reach, though.

This photo is probably a fake or being used in the wrong context. I recognize the man from a photo in Time magazine's coverage of IRAQ last year or earlier.
