1. WELL SAID
Sanjay ,   New Delhi   (08.01.06)
We are impressed by this talk of Mr Peres. He indeed put all the issues in right perspective.Syria needs to clear its position in the fight against Terrorists. Lastly, the words that Israel is the country now directly fighting the terrorists should be a model to other countries as well. We support Israel and any country who fights the terror in a meaningful way. Sanjay India

Syria should know that it does NOT have any supporters in the muslim brotherhood.

Truly heartwarming. I wish every person and government in the free world would feel like you do. Terrorism would have been eradicated long ago. Bless you!
4. Mr. Peres
Pat ,   USA   (08.02.06)
Is a great speaker for Israel, and the rest of the Western world. If Syria does get involved, it would be a futile action as their military doesn't have the ability to defeat the overwhelmingly superior Jewish forces of Israel. Babyface Assad needs to decide whether he is with the terrorists, or with the civilised world in our fight against them. Egypt and Jordan are content to remain on the sidelines, with an occasional outburst from Mubarak so it doesn't look like he is too pro-Israel.
5. Will the rat take the bait?
Rocco ,   USA   (08.02.06)
Peres' comments are clearly intended to bait Syria into attacking. Hold on to your hat - this is far from over.
6. Peres the navi of Oslo
Yonatan ,   Los Angeles   (08.02.06)
The man who gave Arafat guns. Does anyone even care what he says anymore?
7. Mr. Peres
steve ,   Reno, Nevada, USA   (08.02.06)
I always admired the straightforward Mr. Peres. What was implicit in his statements is that Israel is committed to continuing to make Hezbollah and all terrorists groups aware that the world has another opinion than thiose easy PR victories they seem to equate with relevance. The real relevance is on the ground as we speak. As bad as any war is, this one should not end just yet. I hope Israel presses their advantage over the fanatics who have so far attempted to wreck every legitimate institution they have touched for their own selfish and misguided reasons.
8. they pretend that they're unified... it's matter of time
(08.02.06)
they all will collapse togother in any day now
9. Egypt and Jordan
Ga'ash ,   Florida   (08.02.06)
They only don't get involved becuase they cannot win. Egypt has an achilles heel called 'Aswan Dam' and both Egypt and Jordan do not want any part of the Palestinians ... who will all be kicked out of Israel and into those countries if Egypt and Jordan go to war with Israel.
10. Peres is a wise man..should teach Bush's puppet Olmart

8 "But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, 9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 11 "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. 12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. 13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. 14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you," declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41 Israel will never be defeated.
12. Is Syria Serious
Ricky Bobby ,   Taledega, USA   (08.02.06)
putting their military on high alert? The last time Syria's Airforce tangled with the IAF the score was Israel 107/Syria 0. Isreal cleaned out the Syrian airforce like they were fighting a bunch of first time solo pilots. Bring it on! It would be good to see Syria reduced to the paper tiger that it is. The only weapon that Syria has is all the WMD's that Saddam was able to truck to there before the US invaded Iraq. Those WMD's are another thing that we can thank Kofi and company for. Had the US not been stalled for a year before invading Iraq, the WMDs would have been destroyed by US forces. Because of the United Nothings they still exist in Syria. If I were Israel I would nuke Damascus the minute they launch anything at S. Lebanon or Israel. That is the only way they won't use Saddams WMD's. If Syria acts against Israel they have NBC weapons from Saddam. They would not take the chance otherwise.
13. don't celebrate yet
Mick ,   Australia   (08.02.06)
I heard that Rice in her trip to Lebanon asked if she can get the name and the address of the people who tought Hizbollah how to fight they want use him to tech their army how to be courageous so if this is true. watch out Israel the US might replace you and try to replace you with Hizbollah.
14. Mr. Perez Comments
American Citizen ,   USA   (08.02.06)
Shimmon Perez is a war criminal and should be stripped of the Nobel Prize. He is a child killer and disgrace as a human being.

What on earth are you talking about?
17. #9
Pat ,   USA   (08.02.06)
Kicking "palestinians" into Jordan and Egypt sounds good to me. Why? Because that's where these arabs belong. Arafart himself was Egyptian. It is time for them to return to their homeland. It is also time to stop claiming there is an actual people called "palestinians" because as all of us know, such a people never existed in history.
18. Yes, Peres we hear you, but the only thing I don't get is...
Evgeniy ,   NYC   (08.02.06)
why Israeli establishment wouldn't say that Qana wasn't Israeli mistake but another example of terrorists' propaganda without any human limits? Everyone knows by now what has happened in Qana and still I hear excuses from Israel politicians when they have every opportunity to start the information war which will be the last nail in a hezbollah coffin. By the way it’d safe many lives, too. Yeah, Israeli propaganda is in a bad shape. But it will be fixed soon, I guarantee.
19. DON'T COUNT EGYPT OUT !
VA. USA   (08.02.06)
ZECHARIAH 10:10,11 "I will bring them AGAIN also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of LEBANON; and place shall not be found for them. Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away." CH 11:1 "Open thy doors, O LEBANON, that the fire may devour thy cedars." The longest inhabited city in history will soon be destroyed. ISAIAH 17:1 "Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Cairo gets it also. ISAIAH 19:1 "The burden of Egypt . Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift (mushroom) cloud, and shall come into Egypt, and the heart of Egypt shall MELT in the midst of it." The thing that would make Israel use the nuke is Syria to use chemical and biological weapons. This battle sets up EZEKIEL 38,39. In the list of nations that come against Israel, the thing to notice is Syria and Egypt are not there, Iran (Persia) is. Hold on to your seats girls and boys we are seeing the start of WWIII.

O Mark tell to this eager listening forum: Do You also have some of this O so comforting psalms for Your american soldiers in Iraq, who, after more than 3 years, with the help of F 16 fighters and B-1 bombers, and shooting and raping women at ransom, are still keep searching for WMD??? Or does your soul solemnly belongs to "Eretz Israel"?

22. #21 Wouldn't worry pops..
Pat ,   USA   (08.02.06)
If he is wrong and Syria, Egypt, and Jordan all get involved the outcome will be the same as in 1948, 1967, and 1973. Arik performed well in these wouldn't you say?
23. HaHa, Isn't it the Same Peres?
Maxine Jolie ,   Dallas, USA   (08.02.06)
Peres and Dayan also said Egypt and Syria wouldn't dare attack Israel in 73. They said the Egyptians would need more than 24 hours to cross the canal, they said Syrian commandos wouldn't know how to storm Mount Hermon, they said the Barlev line couldn't be breached, they said the IAF would operate with impunity, while the iAF suffrered the loss of almost a 100% of its fleet, they said... Then they said to Nixon if you don't help save Israel this minute, we've no choice but to nuke the enemy because Israel will be no more in 24 hours. Peres and your cabinet say a lot, that's all they know how to do. Believe Peres, the undisputed world champion of the world in lying and miscalculaiton at your own peril.
24.  First war of a nation against terrorists?

Why is the US in Afghanistan and Iraq?
25. 14
(08.02.06)
You made a mistake. You meant Arafat should have been stripped of his Nobel prize, being a terrorist and a killer. Peres is no killer. You are an Americn citizen? I bet I know where you came from.
