David ,   St Louis, USA   (08.02.06)
Wrong again. Prior to 1948 the only people calling themselves Palestinians were Jews not Muslims or Christians. Your link is crap.
32. what happened with other rockets?
Frankfurt/Germany   (08.02.06)
Where were landed other 230 rockets? Also in Palestine? In Syria? Oh, may be in Lebanon??? I fear these 230 rockets did a new massacre in Lebanon. Should we wait for new pictures with this "green helmet" guy?
33. LOL Ynet changed the article!
Khalid   (08.02.06)
When I read it this morning, it said rockets landed in the "Judea and Samaria" area. Now it says the "West Bank area." I guess Yediot checked a UN map instead of looking at ancient Biblical ones. As for you retards that claim Palestine is nowhere to be found, I KNOW! I never said that Palestine exists because right now it doesn't! It's as apparent on legal maps as ... JUDEA AND SAMARIA! Only difference is that Palestine existed 60 years ago, Judea and Samaria existed 2000 years ago. Oh yeah, one more difference: Palestine is going to exist within 10 years according to ... Olmert and Bush, who claim to be pushing for a Palestine. BUT Judea and Samaria will surely not exist in 10 more years, it'll be called Palestine - your leaders say this, not me.
34. Stupid refugees
Adam ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.02.06)
The jordanian refugees are happy to cheer even when the rockets are comign down on them. Just proves what and ignorant bunch of blood thirsty fools the world is dealing with. We will attain peace when Islam is taught in a way that life is more valuable and rewarding than death. Otherwise Jihad will continue forever.
35. Your raunch side
(08.02.06)
Maybe dropping that side would be a good start towards "saving Israel"?! I have stood on the Golan and giving it or anything else of land He gave His People is a bad idea, if only from a strategic standpoint. And it would just get trashed.

You will. One day.

(08.02.06)
Just a name. Not more than that. That does What does that prove? I have the answer for you. one big fat ZERO. Before that for over 3000 years it was the kingdom of ISRAEL. An actual kingdom with kings and subjects. Heard of King Salomon? King David? Just trying to enlighten you a bit.
38. #1 Good Joke
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (08.02.06)
I think Khalid was trying to be humerous
39. Olmert must speak of God
David ,   Paris, France   (08.02.06)
Mr Olmert should speak of God in his speech. Because all this war is decided by God. Perhaps because some people wanted gay pride in Jerusalem. Fortunately israeli citizens, soldiers, and jews like me are praying. May god protect Israel
40. # 10 re: #1 Khalid
Kathy ,   U.K   (08.02.06)
Holms I have many times pointed out as you did. Who are the Paestinians? Us the Jews are the real Palestinians ever since the British Mandate and the rest were merely called Arabs. Apart from that. 1] Who was their king? 2] what was their currency? 3}What culture? 4} they are just a remnant of the ones that stayed in Israel when Israel beat the blazes out of the Arabs in all wars. They are now benfitting from Israel's largess. THEY ARE JUST SQUATTERS.That is it... e

James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (08.02.06)
What the writer does not tell, whether by design and deception, is that many so-called Palestinians didn't arrive in the area until during the British Mandate. Arab leaders under the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem encouraged immigration from other Arab countries to counter the Jews that were returning home. Sadly the British did nothing to stop the Arabs while obstructing many Jews thus increasing the volume of so-called Palestinians.
42. If this is true, it is too funny
Sharon ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.02.06)
43. Comments to # 1 Khalid
Lauren ,   Israel   (08.02.06)
Why are you all bothering to answer this guys arrogant comments? He's getting exactly what he wants; a rise out of everyone, and lots and lots of attention. He should be busy elsewhere now anyway, getting his bags packed.
44. A wolf in wolf's clothing
jewish mother ,   jerusalem   (08.02.06)
Khalid is the dark lord of Talkbacks, he is an Al-Jazeera journo that doesn't seem to have anything better to do than stalk Jewish websites leaving a filthy trail of lies behind. Look him up on Ha'aretz, where he lurks with his lefty friends. They know their true history, but after years of brainwashing will believe anything. Judea and Samaria stood as centers in the vast Israelite kingdom a thousand years before Mohammed even took a second look at his landlady. While you are on the internet Khalid, look up some REAL history sites, I guess you don't have much work these days, the BBC is doing it all for you!
45. RE 25. Where's Judea and Samaria??
Michael O Brien ,   Dublin   (08.02.06)
Hmm - Judea and Samaria are these not historical terms? Historical geographical terms for the lands located west of the Jordan River in a territory, now occupied by Israel since 1967, but known unto the International Community as the West Bank. - they are not towns Kathy

Sir, It is you who is the dummy. Palestine was a regional name for administrative purposes under Roman rule, but even they acknowledged that this was the Land of the Jews. Perhaps reading Gibbons Decline and Fall would set you right. But then seeing your article leaves me wondering at the point of whether anything will suffice to make you see sense.
47. #1 Judea and Samaria was formally
Michael   (08.02.06)
occupied by Jordan which was formerly, Eastern Israel until the British split Israel betwen Jews and arabs in 1948 . Glad to answer your question
48. to "smart" 15
Leo ,   Canada   (08.02.06)
Actually, so called Palestine was Israel more than 5000 years ago, arabs came to that land much later. So, try to learn more before you write someting
49. Prove of God?
(08.02.06)
The Palis have been yelling for more Israeli deaths, but what they got in return was a rocket in their own territory. Coincidence?
50. BTW Qana Deathtoll now down to 28 Chalk it up to Arab Multpl
RA   (08.02.06)
Talk about the Arab multiplier huh. I guess they took a number and doubled it, then told the world it was 56. Way better than the previous Arab multiplier of 10 seen in Jenin, but still equally as pathetic. Its a shame after all these years, the Europeans are too entrenched in their anti-semitic views to see how deceitful Arabs are. That will all change though. Just give it time.
51. Why stop at the West Bank?
Rubicon ,   NY, NY   (08.02.06)
Genesis 15:18 describes their god as making a covenant with Abraham, saying: To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. http://www.fsmitha.com/h1/ch04.htm
52. #33
Tony ,   NY, USA   (08.02.06)
Khalid you moron, you're not supposed to admit that Judea and Samaria existed 2000 years ago. Now the Israel's know it really belonged to them. You fool!
53. Are the "Palestinians" retarded?
Wes ,   Greenville, USA   (08.02.06)
"Even if it were to fall on our heads, it wouldn’t have spoiled our joy." Hello, Hizbollah just dropped a bomb on your land, and you're happy? nice... real nice...
54. nice aiming Hezzbians! You truly suck!
(08.02.06)
55. Hezbollah Rockets
StClair Tweedie ,   Broomes Island, MD,   (08.02.06)
It seems that Hezbollah is employing indiscriminate rocket launches at the civilian population of Israel. These rockets are armed so as to cause the greatest amount of death and injury to civilians - women, children and men - jews, christians and arabs. Why aren't we hearing more about these despicable and cowardly tactics???
56. to 15
tFighterPilot   (08.02.06)
You are simply ignoring historical facts. It's not a matter of opinion. It's a fact that the name was changed from Judea to Palestine by the Romans after the revolt.
57. #44 You forgot "bored"
(08.02.06)
I've noticed he hasn't been published in a while - or perhaps he is using a pen name.
58. Good Work YNET
houssam hamdan ,   beirut   (08.02.06)
No one can accuse YNET cause its a free media ( Democracy )
59. Wish-granting
The Raccoon   (08.02.06)
I think that maybe Israel and IDF should start granting wishes. Just go around and ask people whether they want to die as martyrs. If they do, grant them their wish. If would be very nice for the Shaheed-wannabes, wouldn't it? I personally have always wanted my wishes to come true. And when all the suicidal-homicidal maniacs are officially and happily martyred, we can finally have some peace. Whaddaya recon?
60. #15 dum dum
