Ehud you are saying what are "we" doing... I see you are in Japan. If you are so concerned about your fellow people and family, leave Japan and help the people who have lost their homes. Have you forgotten about all the suicide bombers and the terror threats we live with in Israel each day. The most heroic thing Israel can do Is DISARM both Hizbollah and HAMAS. It seems to me that you have been in too many parties at mount fuji!

49. Define Success?
Jay ,   USA   (08.05.06)
For an operation to be successful, it first must have clearly stated goals. Next, it must achieve those goals with a minimum (and predefined) level of damage. So, what were those goals? Were they achieved? From what I read, the only goals are to show the Israeli people that the IDF is heroic. This is a much needed image, especially after the consecutive failures the IDF are facing in regards of the orginally stated goals of the global operation, which are disarming Hezbollah and stopping the rain of rockets on North Israel. So far, Israel has achieved the following goals: 1 - Killing over one thousands civilians 2 - Destruction of the Lebanese civilian infrastructure. 3 - Destruction of entire Lebanese civilian neighborhoods 4 - raising the level of support of Hezbollah in Lebanon 5 - Raising the level of animosity towards Israel in the world 6 - killing between 50 and 400 Hezbollah (depending who you listen to) 7 - killing between 50 and 300 or 400 IDF troops (depending who you listen to) 8 - Destruction of a few dozens of MIRKAVA tanks 9 - Destruction of one or two Israeli battle ships 10 - Destruction of few Israeli vehicles and homes and institutions 11 - changing the image of Israel as an unbeatable country in the Middle East in the general and the arab world in particular. Success? you be the judge....
50. You have not seen anything yet!
Maurice ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.05.06)
IDF will find all these coward rats hiding behind civilians and decimate them all one by one. It is all starting now, you have not seen anything yet! Entering into the midst of the enemy to achieve such dangerous missions is nothing but true heroism. IDF, you are the admiration of the world, even those who hate you and publicly despise you, are in awe in front of what you are able to do.
51. To Aharon # 19
Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (08.05.06)
Just a breif comment man. Ur barbaric army have been dealing with Hezbollah for the last 18 years before leaving Lebanon, and they didn't manage with these determined guys...and now they want to finish them in one month !!! so calm down man and wake up and ask ur dump and arrogant Olmert to look for a political solution that ends this useless war.
52. To the Lebanese # 26

56. Sad End of this state
Johnny   (08.05.06)
Is the IDF that desparate to call this stupid operation heroic? What about the massacres in Qana, Baalback, El Qaa, Taibeh, ... What about killing over 400 children? If the Lebanese forgive for you, GOD will not. Are there any reasonable people in this state to stop the massacre. This state is definitely destined to a very sad end!!!
57. ANALYSIS
EZRAH ,   ISRAEL   (08.05.06)
1- If the purpose of the raid was to kill those operating the rockets launchers then it was bad military action because instead of sending in "elite" commandos and suffer casualities, waste time and effort and expose your tactics an IAF plane would have done it easily with better results. 2- If the purpose was to capture Hizballah operatives then it was a big failure. I think the purpose was #2. IN BOTH CASES IT WAS A FIASCO.
58. To #2 +#27 and the others(heroics)
Tony   (08.05.06)
Mon cher Francois, you say that IDF are the bravest of the world, if they are so, why they don't combat Hizbullah on the ground in south Lebanon. What IDF are doing,is playing with this electronic hi-tech airplanes given to IDF by the USA.IDF are not facing Hizbullah on the ground. The times IDF faced Hizbullah on the ground, IDF suffered from many casualties.Too many soldiers were killed by Hizbullah.IDF didn't even control one Km from Lebanon. They are just passing by villages without fighting Hizbullah. You call them(IDF) brave. They are nothing but " une machine a tuer" .They bombard buildings, bridges roads and civilians only. They are afraid to face Hizbullah on the ground. IDF faced and is still facing a real failure in Lebanon.Olmert, Halutz and Peretz are hiding their failure by lying to their people.Tyre raid is nothing but another Failure added to Ba'albek raid.IDF killed only civilians. They attack hospitals, animals, fishing boats, and even trees. You call this heroic.Arretes mon pot, ne soit pas dupe.soit logique.Regardes les choses en face.
59. SHET MEDIA!!!
HILON ,   RAMAT GAN/ISRAEL   (08.05.06)
SHET MEDIA , ARE YOU SURE THAT TYRE TRAP IS AVICTORY FOR ISRAEL???????? HOW IS THE LOST BE?!!! , IF THIS ABSULTLY LOOSING IS A VICTORY , HOW WILL BE THE COMPLETE LOOSE? ENOUGH , WE ARE BOORING OF THIS MEDIA , SAY THE TRUTH , WE ARE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL NEED TO KNOW THE FACT...COMPLETE FACTS ON GROUND...
60. the raid
vour   (08.05.06)
That building should definitely have been destroyed by bombs. Anyone who lives near or at a building that fires weapons after everything that has happened to other rocket sites in Lebanon deserves to die. The moral high ground propaganda value of the raid is useless anyway.
