31. G-d bless IDF soldiers
SR ,   USA   (08.09.06)
I just hope it is the last and correct decision finally taken by the inert leadership and not another half measure. Israel can't afford making half-step forward and look back for the next direction, just can't afford. Broad, final, executive decision was needed a long time ago, and not just half-measures we've seen so far. Please don't stop! Keep moving forward.
32. to Hizbollah lovers

33. graves of defeated
Paul Filler ,   Ada MI USA   (08.09.06)
Please do not believe all the business about fighting (our) war. We as Americans are hoping you fight your war for real sustained peace. It is your world that is being tarnished by the people that cannot even grow anteing, or export anything from the land you gave them except war. The only good Arab at this point is a DEAD Arab. Do not let the media be heard as if they are on your side..they are not. Take no prisoners kill all in you way for peace. The only way to have peace is when one side is sitting besides the graves of the defeated.

37. Shameful Grandpa #30 ...
yoel ,   Switzerland   (08.09.06)
while reading you, it sounds as a record of death toll to be beaten. I just wanted to remind you thi is a period of war, and soldiers need to be encouraged / morally supported. I don't think you're a real granfather, and nore you are israeli. Any israeli should be concerned by having a patriotic behavior or because he should have some family members involved at the front, or even because of having some family potentialy hit by Katiushas. As you don't seem matching to any of those criteria, please stop annoying me with your posts. In few terms, Go Away !
38. #14 The Lebanese PM is incompetent.
Mark ,   US   (08.09.06)
The Lebanese are incapable of having a secure border. They have a useless Lebanese army that will help Hizballah. Lebanon should have welcomed NATO forces. You seem to enjoy getting bombed. A normal country would be grateful for help. Instead you enjoy destruction.
39. to Drew

40. #35 - China is no threat to ME
Ryan ,   Calgary, Canada   (08.09.06)
I do not believe China will partake in any activities other than moral support for the ME. If they do more, the US will pressure Japan for preemptive strikes on N. Korea, which will tie the hands of China, cause they will support N. Korea, while S. Korea sits the fence for a while. The US will back Japan, with some troops, logistics and funding. The only thing to watch is Russia. But seeing how Russia don't like China, and would feel threatened by a big Chinese win, I think Russia will actually side with the US on this one. So with fighting in the orient, and in the ME, you will see, Euro nations getting involved, as well as a Canadian expansion to the orient. Hence WW3. The US will get involved militarily in the ME, but not until another one or two ME countries, join against Israel. The biggest threat to the US would be, S. America, believe it or not, cause with American forces fighting two fronts, southern countries, will see a chance to attack. My predictions.
41. To the Proud Granpa #30
Tal ,   Israel   (08.09.06)
You say this war is futile, hah? What, we should lay down and die? What we should crawl into a hole and forget it? What, we should march to our deaths like good little Jews just like the world has wanted us to for time immemorial? The instability to the 'region' you 'espouse' is unstable to begin with. They all hate Israel. They will continue to hate us until Israel is no more. So WE WILL FIGHT! WE WILL FIGHT EVEN TO OUR DEATHS, grandpa. Grandpa, if we lose so do you. This I can guarentee. Hey Grandpa, I dare you to watch the following: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2967276362246845611&q All of it! Report back. I am watching your comments.
42. to #18 pardon me to add to your comment:
Haddas ,   Jerusalem   (08.09.06)
here we go again. Ever wonder why the moment civilian's die (not Jews, we don't count) the world shakes their finger in disgust??? Bush said:'You are either with us or against us' - November 6, 2001. So what is it? You want us to continue to do your job to keep the world safe or what? As bombs drop in Iraq and Afghanistan, should the US have exercised caution? I rest my case. In the mean time however Syria continues to support Hezbollah with the aid of Iran, China, Pakistan and every other rouge nation...... and get away with it. As for IRAN, well we see the world has little will or appetite to confront them. And to those ready to jump down by back for the above comments, do not say how lucky Israel is for having the support of the US as if to say the US does not have the moral obligation to support us!!! Israel has been under fire from terrorists too long. We have dishonestly been turned from the victims of slaughter to the victimizers! We have been made into the pariah of the world while real pariahs get away with murder!! Stand tall and stand with us but do not tell us how to fight. We are the ones who mourn our fallen son's, brothers and husbands while having to mourn those we lost to needless ruthless terror attacks.
43. THIS IS PATHETIC! NASRALLAH IS GIVING A SPEECH ON AL-MANAR
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (08.09.06)
TV soon, how the helll does this terrorist still manage to give speeches when we have flattened his TV building since day one!?
44. This what HEzbollah wants...
StopIt ,   PA USA   (08.09.06)
They want all the IDF. Get ready for a slaughter from both sides. Did anyone hear about 11 IDF soldiers getting killed today?
45. No surprise-Peres votes with aRabids against Jewish State
Arie ,   Afula   (08.09.06)
46. #38
Mable ,   round the table   (08.09.06)
The Lebanese are incapable of having a secure border you say? They are incapalbe because they lack the will. Period. They were NOT incapable however to scream and yell when Hezbollah was turning a terror state into their state. hmm. And there lies the rub #38. A little history. In 48 when hostile armies from all over the ME attacked Israel, Israel lacked a large army, heavy equiptment, few planes and armaments. The majority of their solders had little if any experience holding a weapon let alone fighting a war. Worse, they were worn down from having lost their entire families in the Shoah. So #38 how did they beat off all those armies vowing to kill them. FOUR LETTERS. ---->WILL. This is the problem with the whole of the ME. They lack the will to move toward democracy, to change from the inside out and fight terror as it should be. Sadly, in the mean time the west continues to be thier co- dependants simply because of this pipe dream of democracy. The west can dump billions and billions of dollars in their laps, continue to falsely legitimize them and when push comes to shove they lack the will for true enduring freedom and peace. They refuse to take the steps to walk toward democracy because they CHOOSE to not shrug the past and they CHOOSE TO STAY THE SAME. Let them get bombed. You are right "enjoy your destruction.'
47. TAKE THE RIVER- AND KEEP IT!
kurt ,   san diego ca usa   (08.09.06)
Rule of war - Do not pay for the same piece of real estate twice. Fighting for it, then giving it back to Hezbullah is nonsense. Once Israel has the buffer zone to the Litani River, it now becomes ISRAEL property. Period. The End. After the death of Nasrallah, review the property rights again to determine permanent closure.
48. that means more troops...geez

49. Drew - China? Israel can fight ANYONE with their mega nukes

50. to hanna
ben ,   jerusalem   (08.09.06)
in all places of contact with hizbullah the idf eventually won the battle and took control, despite the casualties we've suffered. it would seem that the death of a few israelis for countless arab deaths is always enough to capture the imaginations of arabs all over the world, and inspire them to jihad, despite the tremendous suffering they endure in the process. since hizbullah number all of about two thousand fighters, and have lost about four hundred since the start of hostilities, i am confidant of our ability to fight and destroy their fighting capability. there is no alternative to ground forces taking out the launchers however far north they may be. cheer up hanna. we've been beating arab armies for over half a century. with the help of god, we'll do it this time as well.
51. #45.........wait aminute.
Hank ,   NYC   (08.09.06)
While some of the Israeli left slammed Israel, at the very same time George Bush 'once again' told Israel to exercise restraint. I think you need to read posts 18 and 42. Anyone notice why there has been little said about Condi and George with France and the UN on conservative blogs? Like #45 the right is too busy looking at the left while at the mean time very important matters such as the UN cease fire is all but being ignored. Furthermore, all the conservatives who hate the UN are now saying it is ok to negotiate with them on this matter. Still laughing. We need real friends. Friends that are not moutpieces for either party and who are willing enough to stick their necks out beyond their party lines.
52. Let's Roll!
John ,   Pittsburgh, USA   (08.09.06)
I wish the IDF g-dspeed in this campaign against hezbollah a terrorist organization which is the embodiment of pure evil! This is a battle in the Global War on Terror which some call World War III. Civilization hangs in the balance.
53. What Took So Long?
dave ,   NYC   (08.09.06)
Olmert pinpointed and tap danced his way around his responsibilities. It's time for him to step down before he endangers Israel even further.

55. # 18
JOSH ,   TEXAN   (08.09.06)
How can you say that what ISRAEL is doing is TERROR. Hezbollah and his crew, and the Terrorists that Lebanon harbor are at falt for the "terror" that ISRAEL is reigning on Lebanon. If the PM would grow a pair and make the Terrorists get out of their country then we would not be having this conversation. Far too long has everyone stood back and ran from this '"Terrorists" issue. It is about time someone stood up for their country and fight back. I garantee that if the US and the rest of the world was one big land mass, there would not be too many terrorists right now. We would have killed the majority of them; if not earlier, then after 9-11. So anyone who thinks this WAR is unfair, please go get a gun, put it to your head and well..... you know the drill
56. Level everything
richard ,   new york, usa   (08.09.06)
i dont understand why are we sending troops to fight because we dont want to many civilians dead, no matter whta they codemmn us and criticize so at least its better to throw a hydrogen bomb and level all of lebanon and than really get criticized..we are trying to fix a completely demolished house by rennovation, we have to destroy the house to the groung and build a new one...
