1. Looking after us???
miklatim ,   northern israel   (08.11.06)
They went into this war and none of could have been more unprepared for what was to happen. Miklatim not used were overloaded with dwellers rubbish and furniture..I had to go downstairs and move everything away, and sweep up the rat droppings that were there..in order to keep my family safe..better there in a rat infested environment then in apartment in potential harms way. They allow for fortified rooms that you cudnt swing a cat in...try putting ur whole family in one for 30 days..forget it..I have been to hell and back..but this is definately one of the worst experiences of my life. We need to finish this war..all those who were polled were from telaviv and the south..Poll the people in the north your results will differ drastically. ENUF ALREADY..

D.Cook   (08.11.06)
that the miluimnikim are starving, and all the Golan ladies in every Moshav , are cooking food for them and sending it up. What a disgrace. VIP's wife want to join in sending food up? Oops, forgot, occupied territory. Silly me. I presume Machsom Watch gorillas are up there watching we don't abuse the murderers?
6. Lies, damned lies & statistics
Dias ,   USA   (08.11.06)
In a survey published by the Haaretz daily, 73 percent of respondents said Israel could not claim to have won the war against the Lebanese militant group if the fighting stopped now. Only 48 percent of those polled said they were satisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, while 40 percent said they were not. In Lebanon, more than 1,000 civilians -- some 30 percent of them children under 12 -- have been killed by Israeli attacks and nearly a million have fled their homes, sparking what relief agencies described as a humanitarian crisis.

I have been running back and forth from haifa daily since this was began for radiation therapy. It is scary on the roads between here and there as ther are not that many places for shelter along the way. When I return home I spend the rest of the day running down and back from the shelter, this is no way to live, so get on with it and get rid of Hezbollah already!

A few pointers on this man that looks the spitting image of Laurel from 'Laurel and Hardy' aith all the antics. He was the worst Mayor of Jerusalem. His wife, Aliza, is a well-known leftist activist, who, according to the 'wikipedia' is rumored to have been a founding member of "Women in Black." His daughter Dana, a lesbian, is active in the left-wing organization "Machsom Watch." His son Shaul, lives in New York. His son Ariel studies in France and did not serve in the IDF. 13. Why Do Katyushas Have Free Rides?
Fredman ,   Sweden   (08.11.06)
"The stifling of a promising defense. As thousands of artillery rockets fall on Israel, all too few people know that an excellent device for intercepting them has been available for about seven years, but that Israeli and American officials, who should have known better, decided not to deploy it." See more of the article in NOR- National Reviw Online, by Angelo M. Codevilla, Aug. 10, 2006 Link: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=NmU5ZWRjYmYzMjA3ZWZjMDcxY2VhOTk4YzRjY2RlNDc= "Katyusha rockets from Lebanon have been falling on Kyriat Shemona and in the neighboring vicinity for more than two decades. They are Soviet-army surplus from World War II, when they were known as the “Stalin Organ” because their organ-like launchers used to disgorge them by the thousands. Though not terribly effective against armies, they can make normalcy impossible for civilians. Serious military people have long recognized that protecting northern Israel against them is essential to the country’s survival. The technical problem in defending against them is simply that their flight time — and especially the time from their appearance over the horizon to their impact — is too short for any normal interceptor to get to them. Moreover, the Katyushas are so cheap and numerous, and individually so ineffective, that even if it were possible to build an interceptor, it wouldn’t be worth deploying it for each rocket. The only force that could destroy the Katyushas in flight would be multi shot, directed energy weapons. In the 1990s, the makings of such weapons were very much in hand. By 1998, the prototype THEL (Theater High Energy Laser) was blowing up Katyushas in flight at White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico, by exploding their warheads with heat. By the following year it was ready to go to Israel...... .....And yet it should escape no one that Iran, Syria, and North Korea — not to mention China and Russia — have learned from what has been happening in Israel that a Western country can be hit by ballistic missiles, parts of it can be made uninhabitable, and the West’s retaliation will not aim at undoing those who are responsible for launching the missiles. In short, they have learned that American (never mind European) officials who refuse to build missile defenses are also likely to respond ineffectively to missile attacks. How different would the Middle East look today if several THEL units were in Israel? How different would the world look if, when Iran has its nuclear-tipped Shahab -4 missiles, the U.S. also had a fleet of space lasers?" A new option?
14. this govt. got to go!
oded   (08.11.06)
it failed miserbly in conducting this war, and achieiving real wins, it zigzaged thru the whole ordeal, making false cliams just to empower itself ,and failed miserably in taking care of the northern border citizens. this govt. must be dismantled and voted out of office. VOTE BUGI YAALONN TO P.M!!!!

Adam ,   Stamford, CT, USA   (08.11.06)
Kick Olmert out of office along with his stupid sham of a defense minister Peretz and replace them with Netanyahu and Mofaz they are strong leaders are excellent tacticians and reformers of Israel's economy!! If Israel is to survive then they must be elected!!!
18. no plan for victory, no cry!!
moe ,   montreal, Canada   (08.11.06)
it was obvious from the first day, this way had no meaning, target, or reason. if Israel was targeting Hizbollah, they should went only for hizbollah, and when you leave crazy generals lead you and tell you what to do, then you know that the war will never be won. Only politians can win, cause when they face a dead end in the war affair, they move to diplomacy. and there is always always Plan B. Olmert had nothing to offer. his generals start attacking civilians, blood make then generals happy, everyone knows that. and in one front Hizbollah found an excuse to hit civilans back, they made it clear, you hit civilians we hit back, but no one listened. Now, the only way to get out is to bring the soldiers back, and to stop all the war affairs, cause it's useless, and when get out of lebanon just finish all the affairs with them, soldiers/prisoners swept, deal on land especially Chibaa farms, and when you know where are the borders draw a line, build a wall, do something so no one can see the other side, never, ever. and if you have lebanese friends and you want to see them, go and meet in turkey or cyprus. but pls, no more nasty plans, assasinations, or interfering on their affairs. if you do this, it means the madness round will start all over again. from point zero.
19. Why do people have to complain so much?
In Karmiel ,   Karmiel, Israel   (08.11.06)
The government, the IDF, the Home Front Comand, all have been doing their best for us and all people can do is gripe and complain! Why do people have such a bad habit of criticising when thank-yous and encouragement go so much farther? Why do people think they deserve so much? Why not be grateful for what we have? Why so much ingratitude? I don't understand.
20. Sack Olmert and win the war
Al ,   Canada   (08.11.06)
The guy is unqualified for the job. He only knows how to pull Jews from their homes and bulldose them. How can Israelies have the will to win when Olmert has already said he plans to give Judea and Samaria back to the Arabs? Just what country or World Order is he working for?

26. #11 robyn I know exacty how u feel
mother ,   haifa   (08.11.06)
firstly let me wish you a speedy recovery - i think u are suffering enuf and dont need Hizbola as an added incentive. Those people in the south who want to go ahead and fight dont understand the North was not prepared, they didnt warn us of their plans. People could have stocked up food, etc., made plans to get away..instead we have been left here running up and down. I was caugh on Kvish Hahof today, where are u supposed to hide on the main road..no miklat just grass and sea..I have had enough if they want to play war games, I will gladly give them a Disc but for god sakes, next time consult the nation before u dig a hole so deep we cant get out of, and the people in the north are stuck with their kids, under attack day in/out and just want this nightmare to end!!
