Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (08.13.06)
It's actually kind of fascinating to read the verbal gymnastics and convolutions that these guys engage in when in essence they're boycotting the "Juden". Europe hasn't changed and cannot change, it's what they are and always have been. It must be interesting to be part of the Israeli film community. Which leans to the left. To know that your no longer a "good Israeli". Pro-palestinain, coexistence, anti occupation and all the rest of it. That when push comes to shove in the eyes of your friends in the salons of Europe your just a kike, a yid. Like the rest of us.
2. who cares the israeli films are all pro islamofascist anyway

3. Boycott France
GaDo ,   USA   (08.13.06)
I think it's high time we start boycotting the French. Who's with me? Anyone for some Freedom Fries?
4. Enlightened?
Daniel ,   Atlanta USA   (08.13.06)
Someone should make a film about enlightenment in present-day France. It would have to be a short-subject film, of course.
5. No Jews or dogs
bhm ,   new york   (08.13.06)
That an organization has found an excuse to reject something Israeli (read Jewish) is hardly surprising. The real tragedy is the self-hating Jews who, in another era, would have tried to discuss Wagner with the Nazis as the gas chamber doors closed on them.
6. anti jews due to the war
Bill Campbell ,   Columbia, SC USA   (08.13.06)
What's the beef about Israel finally kicking some butt after being shelled constantly by the Hezbalah and having people kidnapped/ They did it right and should be praised. We responded to 911 and haven't done anything right yet, but gotten ourselves deeper in excrement and hated by everyone. Israel. Mazeltov!
7. to #2. you are absolutely right.
aaron ,   ra'anana   (08.14.06)
boycott these crappy films in tel aviv also
8. French Impartiality
Laura ,   London   (08.15.06)
With this overt lack of impartiality in the Arts, what hope can there be for similar impartiality as part of the UN peace-keeping force. Its a French farce. #3 I have boycotted French goods for over 5 years - we Brits make chips! We also have some great cheeses and an award winning 'Champagne'. Israeli goods are always top of my shopping list too.
9. Art and war don't mix well
David ,   New York   (08.16.06)
It is good to see some people standing against war. There are several talkbacks ridiculing this move. I think it is bald and well intentioned It is a message against the embodiment of hate, i.e. war. What's wrong with that? How does this relate to WWII as some have suggested if not an attempt to thwart a repeat?
