5. Livni is a good foreign minister! a woman, very good!
schulz ,   bad germany   (08.13.06)
I think, she makes her job very good! And her english? I can smile, than Livni would pleased, she could have a translator! But when Livni speaks in english of herself, it is enough to understand! A foreign minister is not defense minister and not general. She is a woman at state to relation for other states. And she can not go other ways as with Olmert, Peretz, Halutz! At every time need Israel woman between other ministers!
6. If Livni would speak against her nation, she would not work!
schulz ,   bad germany   (08.13.06)
If she would work against her PM Olmert, against her DM Peretz, against General Halutz, against her nations security, against freedom of Israel, she would be not foreign minister! And if she would have, if she want to have a translator, she would take her! But she can speak for herself!
7. SHE SHOULD GO BACK PRACTICING LAW!
HaDaR ,   Israel   (08.13.06)
SHE SHOULD GO BACK PRACTICING LAW! She is just politically NON-EXISTENT, A FEATHER WEIGHT!
8. FOREIGN MINISTERS SUMMIT
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (08.13.06)
I note how close the US and Uk are in support of Israel. I note that all 3 countries have female foreign ministers, Condoleezza Rice, Margaret Bechett, and Tzipi Livni, . Will the 3 hold a summit? That will be the opening scene from Shakespeare's "Macbeth" ----- "When shall we three meet again?" http://www-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/macbeth/full.html
9. Tell her to stop playing with her hair
Ben ,   NY   (08.13.06)
10. Livni Is An Incompetent Fool
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (08.13.06)
She was power hungry and left Likud to join this defeatist government of shame. She is also incompetent. She only got the job because she is a woman who left Likud to join this goverment. She is a disgrace to Israel and the Jewish people. She voted against fighting back. She is weak and she must NEVER be allowed to serve in the government again.
11. LIVNI, RESIGN NOW!!
ODED   (08.13.06)
WITH THE REST OF THIS SHAMEFULL GOVT. YOU ARE A DISGRACE AND BROUGHT SHAME AND DISSATER TO US ALL. LIKT THE REST OF THE FOREIGN MINISTRY LOSERS!!!

14. Two key questions about Ms Livni
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (08.13.06)
1. What on earth does she mean by "I was no vegetarian"? 2. Does she ever wear a skirt?
15. The total failure of Livni
Kenneth Besig ,   Kiryat Arba Israel   (08.13.06)
Tzipi Livni has been a complete and utter failure as Israel's Foreign Minister. She speaks a lousy English, her Hebrew is incomprehensible, and her grasp of our diplomatic situation is deplorable. No one will cry when she, Olmert, and Peretz are thrown out of office, indeed, we will all breathe a deep sigh of relief.
16. LIVNI FOR PM
Jacquot   (08.13.06)
17. T. Livni is a NUT with NO experience
YDB ,   NJ   (08.13.06)
Stop the nonsense and admit her appalling decisions, as far as we are concerned she is stupid and dangerous for the country...........
18. at least she looks better than condi. but both need makeover
,     (08.13.06)
19. Don't need to be heard to get results
Yehuda ,   USA   (08.13.06)
The fact of the matter is that Israel experienced more foreign support in this conflict than any other that I can remember. Israel also got the result it needed - an international agreement that disarms Hizbollah and forces the Lebanese to control their terrorists. There was no need to argue with the European Left or other pro-Arab groups in public. We never win doing so. With regards to having a spokes person, Israel had Dan Gillerman. His comprehension, communication style and arguments at the UN were brilliant. Livni was smart to let him do his job. I may be giving her too much credit and she may have just been inadequate and lucky. But as far as I'm concerned our foreign policies were executed very well in this conflict.
20. Who cares? she's a fiasco as big as Olmert
Ignacio ,   Zaragoza, Spain   (08.13.06)
How can0't a FM speak english? What is she doing since her arrival to the office? is there any difference wether if she oges or if she stays? Leave her at home, paying by staying there is the same as paying her to go to work, yhou get nothing from your money. I can already hear the noise coming out of her house: "My-tailor-is-rich, his house is beautiful".
21. Nightline
Ari   (08.13.06)
Livni was on nightline when she first became FM and she did a horrendous job. I think it was Jon Donvant who intereviewed her and he asked her to define terrorism and she basically condeded that acts of violence against Israeli soldiers does not fall under the definition of terrorism. Later, she corrected her mistake when an aid told her that the comment would reflect poorly and be very politically unpopular at home. You'd figure a FM would know not to say such stupid things. Then again she has no experience so I am not suprised. p.s. Remeber why Livni got the job. She was appointed FM by sharon after she supported his destruction of all the shtachim in aza and destroying/splitting the likud. She is nothing more than a political hack, like all the rest of them in kadima, including olmert himself.
22. Tsipi Livni's credentials
peter ,   amsterdam, NL   (08.13.06)
I agree with #19, Dan Gillerman did an excellent job at the UN. Delegating jobs that others can do better is wise, of course. I understand that she comes from a influential family , that helped her get unto the political ladder. The only time I saw her on tv before she took the foreign office was in an interview on hardtalk on the BBC when she was a minister in Sharon's cabinet-she came across very inarticulate(in English). I don't know if she's got what it takes-a good Israƫli FM should have a vision and be able to communicate it in English, she seems to have neither. Being legalistic in covering your ass isn't a good sign either.
23. to 9

to play with her hair is not a problem ... good she don't play somewhere else ....lol
24. By the way ... where is Gabrielle Goldwater ? ... smile

25. Heads Must Roll
dave ,   nyc   (08.14.06)
Aren't there at least 80 MKs that that will remove Olmert from the throne? The people of Israel must start the ball rolling before they do more damage.
26. SHE IS HIDING BEHIND PEREZ (END)
Yacov Israel Asher ,   NY, USA   (08.14.06)
27. FOX NEWS
Joseph ,   USA   (08.14.06)
It is so embarrasing that yesterday in Fox news they were showing the press conference of the Israeli Foreign Minister and the anchor thougt the FM was the guy introducing the press conference, she hasn't appear once in U.S news casts, STOP HIDING Tzipi.
28. She would make a good bushie
Bryant ,   Presidio, TX, USA   (08.23.06)
She has that whole air of mediocrity that one sees with Bush administration people and with, say, FOX news folks. She would mix in very well, though, I think, with those American bible thumpers who are so enamored of Sharon and his legacy. She could take a little junket down to San Antonio at the expense of that fat American preacher who likes to sell all of those imitation prayer shawls to his faithful. I bet that between the two of them they could raise a pretty hefty chunk of cash. Would that be a breach of protocol for her to do that?
29. one had to pay his failure.
ahuvameisells ,   jerusalem, Israel   (08.24.06)
