2. Cease-fire???
Paul ,   Concord,USA   (08.14.06)
The cease-fire has not even been initiated, and Hizballah has already torpedoed the meeting with the Lebanese gov't regarding disarmament! I don't expect this agreement to live for 48 hours. If Israel's response to cont'd rockets will only be to destroy launchers, that's pitiful! At least take out the embassy where Nasrallah sleeps! Don't pussyfoot with tigers! All who love Israel want a just peace! But, not the price of status quo for "Hiz-ballistic Ah-MAD-dijini-dud's proxy"! Rockets should bring fierce and broad response! Or, start looking west and south for a lot more of the same! How many UN agreements do you want to sign?
3. A more positive outcome for Israel out of this war!
keren ,   sao paulo   (08.14.06)
At least ,start using enemies' agressivity on your behalf ,Israel: FOR EVERY ROQUET SENT TO ISRAEL,50 ISRAELI MUSLIMS WILL LOSE THEIR CITIZENSHIP AND MUST LEAVE THE COUNTRY WITHIN 30 DAYS! Let's see the results of this new tactics. At least Israel will have practical advantages in fighting terror! I am very serious!!!!Think about this, and implement this. Israel must change its attitute ,in order to get practical results out of everything-good and bad! At least all damages will be payed in clearing Israel for a wonderful future ,without enemies inside the country! STOP ONLY REACTING ! USE THE SITUATION ON YOUR BEHALF!!!

rodomontade ,   carnac in world   (08.14.06)
israel : deliberate collective punishments, deliberate massacres of civilians, extra-judiciar murderings, anihilations of civil useful plants ... ordered by government leaders, driven up by army... international court in the Hague is for you soon. Very soon, because, Israel, u are not even anymore a strategic place in the next middle east (as Irak is now the democracy which leads)
6. i can't understand
mody ,   cairo,egypt   (08.14.06)
How a cease fire will be effective 7 am in the time that the IDF troops still in Lebanon territories, maybe Hezbollah will stop rocket attack on Israel but surly Hezbollah forces will engage with IDF troops in Lebanon cause it is an occupation and the IDF will fight back and war will continue in the meantime how will the Lebanese army deploy in the south while there is a war going on there I can't understand !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

really screwed alot of people up in 2003. i waited for over 6 months for my aliyah to be approved and finally said to heck with it and came back here. privately, Israelis are the most generous caring people around but as gov't workers, a lot is to be desired.

14. Question for all Lebanese and Arabs
Jake Katz ,   America   (08.14.06)
Dear sirs, when you look at the results of the last five weeks, do you feel that the Hizballah operation of 12 July 2006 was worth it? No one lives in your beloved 'Cheba Farms"... is this little piece of SYRIAN territory really worth all the destruction? Do you think that the presence of Hizballah in Lebanon is really an asset, or a liability? Are you happy with your weak states and your instability? And by what metric do you claim to have "won" this war? And lastly, how many such wars do you think that Lebanon can afford to "win". Oh, and finally, if this is victory, then what is defeat?
15. #6 - what part of "you lost" don't you understand?
seeker of truth ,   Cleveland, USA   (08.14.06)
Under the terms of the ceasefire, hizbullah is recognized as the aggressor and instigator of this conflict. It is recognized that Israel acted in self defense. There is no "occupation". Israel has the right to remain in Lebanon until they can be replaced by a UN sponsored force. Hezbullah is not allowed to be south of the Litani and is not allowed to be reinforced. If Hezbullah does not abide by these ceasefire conditions they will be destroyed. Again, what part of "you lost" don't you understand?
16. Based on our recent performance, Hizbullah's not to worried.
Jay N. ,   Jerusalem   (08.14.06)
Olmert and the Kadima party are utter failures. Absolutely pathetic. Not since biblical times has Israel lost a war. Yes, we have lost based on the objectives set by Olmert. The pompous jerk has to be replaced asap. Now we must count on the French for monitoring Hizbullah. The French, the country who thinks Monkey Boy in Iran is such a wonderful leader. Olmert must not be allowed to continually disgrace Israel.
17. Where Was the Napalm?
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (08.14.06)
Hezbollah hid in homes behind the skirts of women and bibs of babies, when lauching thousands of rockets into Israel. As in the movie "Judgement at Nuremberg", when one innocent Jew was killed...". The first rocket fired by Hezbollah was, in fact, a criminal attack on a sovereign (Israel) country. The UNSC resolution, which guaranteed the integrity of both Lebanon and Israel, was a fair one, a resolution that Hezbollah, and the Lebanese gov't ignored, leading to the crisis. Israel fought Hezbollah's war, sorrowfully. It had the means to end this conflict within a few days, and didn't. It begged the US for cluster bombs too late, to stop the Katy launches. In the future, if Israel is still attacked, it must use napalm, cluster bombs and white phosphorus to bomb Hezbollah hide-outs and launch sites. It should have a -0- sum policy vis a vie it's own troop deaths. It can do it, it's a question of will, not means. I would also send 12 F15s in a fly-over the mad Pres. of Iran's palace, as a warning of things to come. Iran and Syria have gotten away with murder in this engagement.
18. Seize Fire = We Have Lost
Steve ,   Israel   (08.14.06)
All our poor soldiers who gave their all to fight this war, did it for nothing. all that is happening now is we allowing Hizbullah to reload. Then whats going to Happen? we will have to start over again. Peretz and Olmert should leave office and let real ppl in to do the job for once and for all. disarm and get rid of Hizbullah!
19. Politics stole you victory
JOE ,   LEBANON   (08.14.06)
The IDF image as the best in the world was severly damaged due to you stupid politicians. Israel showed weakness and unfortunetly no longer safe.
20. Oh Yeah
Fadi ,   Miami, Fl   (08.14.06)
Then they will attack the Hezbollah, and the Hezbollah will retaliate. Through the magical media, it will all be blamed on Hezbollah, and the cease-fire will collapse.
21. Stuff Napalm, this is the answer
Aaron ,   OZ   (08.14.06)
Israel needs to develop these warheads for issue to the infantry platoon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermobaric_weapon In the US the current proposal is to modify the existing M72 LAW to carry this warhead: http://www.defensetech.org/archives/001944.html while the russians have added this warhead to its obselete RPG-7 armoury: http://www.answers.com/topic/rpg-7 These warheads turn tunnels and houses into death traps, they cause enormous blast damage, but those unnaffected by the blast, suffocate in the vacuum caused by the burning of the available oxygen. These are the answer, especially in the hands of an expanded infantry force.
22. This fight is not over
Betty ,   Tucson USA   (08.14.06)
The Hezbodemons will not disarm. They will not leave(they said so). They will continue to kill Jews...it's what they do.In 30 minutes this so-called ceasefire is to commence. If one hair on the head of one Israeli is touched by these freaks, I pray to God that Israel will hit them HARD and FAST...no return...no surrender!

alex ,   lebanon   (08.14.06)
The short answer is NO. It's not about the farms it's the Iranian and Syrian who gave the order to their pupet nasrallah. Maybe Lebanon should give back the south to Syria and this way our national intelligence average will triple as Nasrallah and his followers are the most stupid people on earth.
28. To # 14
WAEL ,   palestine and kuwait   (08.14.06)
Hi Dear Jake, well am really happy because few people ask in polite way such as a good person you are. Well you are right its not worh it and its not worth killing all those people for small peice of land like sheba'a .i beleave it can be solved easily by negotiations. BUt here is what we think: lets say husballah did what they did and they kidnapped those 2 soldiers, DO u think the israely respond was right? do u think the lives of those 2 soldiers worth to kill 1000 lebanese civilians? is that it? for every 1 israely 500 arabs should be killed? ....i mean rememebr husbaullah killed and kidnapped soldiers only !! but israel respond by killing civilans, why? and dont tell me they are hiding in civilians houses,u could easily use ur setallite and locate them ! what is ur technology for?? u asked if we think this is vectory , well yah its vectory for us, because for the 1st time in history we stopped israel from completing its mission that is taking husbullah out ..they are brave men who stopped ur tanks and ur soldiers.and you have the right to think the opposite . after all i hope they stop and husbullah turn into politics side , or let them give hassan nasralah a military rank ..and control the south by the name of lebanese army ,
29. Getr out of lebanon............

Live in pease and Give back the Land you occupy.
30. Hizbullah: New Lebanese Ruling Party
Ryan ,   San Francisco, CA   (08.14.06)
As Hizbullah's popularity in Lebanon soars by stopping the Israeli juggernaut in its tracks they will be increasingly elected into government positions across Lebanon. This will necessitate that all facets of Hizbullah be normalized. The step that should be taken now is the inclusion of all Hizbullah guerillas and militias into the legitimate Lebanese government. The Hizbullah military wing should become an official wing of the Lebanese military so that the group will become solely a political party.
