1. What????
jaybird06 ,   Dubai, UAE   (08.14.06)
“So it is clear that its operational and political status has been damaged, at least for now” Blah blah blah blah!!!! What??? Are you kidding me!! Do you live on the same planet like the rest of us!!!! Please give me a break and talk straight! Hezbollah came out stronger than ever. Their support base extending now throughout the Arab world. A new ideology immerged and new ideas of how easy it would be to beat and destroy the “mythical and fairy-tale” army that proved to be nothing but a paper tiger! Please, don’t mess around with people’s heads…the small lies presented as a political analysis does not work any more!!!! Declare it out loud…your army is incompetent and your war in Lebanon is nothing more than a failure!!!
2. Be ready when the ceasefire ends!
Blues ,   Portland, USA   (08.14.06)
Have all 40,000 ready to crash the border next week, when Hizbullah decides it cannot abide by the terms of the ceasefire. That should give Israel another month to clean up the rest of Lebanon.
3. we all lost
john john ,   lebanon   (08.14.06)

In next war Kadima party will not exist any more.
5. To # 1 What????
e.m ,   s.f   (08.14.06)
Hezbollah came out stronger than ever. Their support base extending now throughout the Arab world. A new ideology immerged and new ideas of how easy it would be to beat and destroy the “mythical and fairy-tale” army that proved to be nothing but a paper tiger! This is what exactlly Israeli wanted it was their goal to bring the great hero to nations of Islam, like Abdul naser.Saddum Hossin.Moamar ghdafi.Yaser Arafat.bin ladin, and this time Shikh nasrollah but he Shiite, and if you are littel smart you should know why? Or wait you will see it in future.
6. jaybird06 - Saudi clerics call Hezbollah "Army of the Devil"
Richard James ,   NY, USA   (08.14.06)
Hezbollah is Iran. Hezbollah is Shi'ite. Do you really think the Arab world wants to be ruled by non-Arabs again (as they were ruled by Muslim Turks for 400 years?) Persians aren't Arabs. Iran's attempt to rule the Arab world isn't appreciated. Saudi clerics have issued fatwas against Hezbollah (who is being called the "Army of the Devil" by these clerics rather than the "Army of God.") Lebanon is pretty much destroyed. This is Iran's doing. I think losers on the Arab street get excited when people (even those they would like to see killed otherwise) are fighting with Israel. Hezbollah isn't "strong" or "weak" based on what Arabs think. Hezbollah is Iran. If they don't have the things Iran gave them anymore, they're weaker. They've lost quite a bit. The Arab world isn't a democracy where the Arab street can elect anyone. They can't even elect their own leaders in most Arab nations. Hezbollah's dangerous game can't go on anymore and I think Nasrallah knows it more than anyone else right now.
7. Chickens and Eggs
Chris ,   LA   (08.14.06)
You don't count your chickens before they hatch. Huzb Allah suffered casualties, Dahieh was flattened and it used part of its rocket arsenal. These are only cosmetic damage, because the leadership is alive, the popular support (Shia) are alive and well. Hariri and Jumblatt will bring up their past concerns again, but it can only be the same as before a debate. In the end no one can force Huzb Allah to do anything, not even Israel. I think Israeli analysts are jumping way to quickly to conclude that Huzb Allah has been weakened. In fact, the Aoun-Huzb Allah-Amal alliance is fully intact despite the war meaning that Aoun will probably become president and the next parliamentary elections are gonna be good for the Huzb Allah...
8. Ashamful loss
Chris antonio ,   Canada   (08.14.06)
the simple fact that more than 30000 Isrealy solders with unlimited support from USA and the superiorities in air and quantities and deployment of fires, fighting against 2500-3000 hizbollah fighter and have this result .excuse me this is a humelating result for Israel. Yes with the add of more than one thousand civilian more than half of them are children ,and infrastucture distruction Isreal should be asham about this war.
9. # 6 jaybird
Mohammed ,   Saudi Arabia   (08.14.06)
I will tell you somthing that you never heard about, do you no that those wahabis who cll Hizbulla " party od Divil" are the second face of the coincalled "zionism"? the prove are those explosives and suicoid bombs happennig in the warld daily. Zionism also is doing the same in Lebanon and Palastine. Those people in Saudi Arabia you're talking about don't represent Islam.
10. #1 explanation to jaybird06
Kenny Hicks ,   N.O. La   (08.14.06)
nasrallah mave have won the battle, but he will lose the war!! Israel has learned everything they needed to learn from this battle. But when they start the war if hisbolah decided to get stupid again, it will be harsh and brutal... one does not want to mess with IDF, when intellegence is there, which now there will be plenty of gathered. If US attacks Iran then Hisb will not be able to attack Israel in retaliation later, brilliant!!! It does not look to me like Israel lost this war yet, and the battle is a draw. and yes mostly the big looser is Lebanon and the natives.
11. Good point Chris #7
Tom ,   US   (08.14.06)
You have a very good point there Chris, I think the author of this article was either in a cave somewhere or he doesn't read the news!
12. SCREW THE 2 DONKEYS!!
Lorenzo ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.14.06)
Hezbollah quote”We will honor the cease fire” Hezbollah has NO idea of the word ‘honor’ or its meaning! just another one of their many, many lies. Hezbollah is the reason Lebanon has been seriously wounded and is now sinking into the abyss of extinction. If the so called ‘government’ does not stand up now then all is lost!!! The Lebanese government is now and always been a JOKE! They cancel a meeting, possibly one of the most important in the history of our country because they don’t want to upset the 2 Hezbollah ministers? I say, and most Lebanese say SCREW THE 2 DONKEYS!! along with the other Syrian donkey Nabih Berri. Stand up and be men! Save Lebanon! Or will you sell your souls to Iran just like you did Syria?
13. Lebanon lost, we lost
Sher   (08.14.06)
Hizballah, if it calls what happened to his country collateral damage, won.
14. wish you luck, Lorenzo
(08.14.06)
but I have doubts
15. Jaybird please don't speak as if you're the official .....
(08.14.06)
spokeperson from Dubai. There happen to be some finer people there who will disagree with you and your terror-supporting ideas. And I have a friendly relationship with them based on trust and goodwill, which your poisoned tongue cannot ruin. PS - change your name to Jailbird.
16. Jaybird6 - who remembers Nasser?
Guido ,   Milano Italy   (08.14.06)
I doubt any young arab under twenty has ever heard of Gamal Abdel Nasser and the crowds cheering him, and yet he was hundreds of times more popular in the arab world than Nasrallah. I doubt any arab under forty knows much about him. And yet only less than fifty years have passed since he died. How long, dear Jaybird6, you think the memory of Nasrallah will last? (Or maybe he will last for some time as the devil who sold himself to the Iranians and destroyed Lebanon. The qualification 'devil' is not mine, it appears in the Fatwa recently issued against Nasrallah by a major Saudi Cleric.
17. The most hypocritical people on earth
Lu ,   OK, US   (08.14.06)

18. To Richard, a destined to fail hidden agenda
jaybird06 ,   Dubai, UAE   (08.14.06)
Richard, I have lived in this region for many years. I believe and it is proven all over the Arab world that alliances and support of political visions and theories are always born out of desperation. The “hidden agendas” that made the U.S. and Israel trigger this war created a long lasting and sustainable model for national Arab struggle success. Today, and after this war is temporarily halted, like it or not, Hezbollah enjoys a position of unparalleled strength and a great political influence. Hezbollah will use and work to translate this moment of influence and opportunity to extend its message across the Arab world. They will actively work to bring the hope of victory to every corner of the Arab world. This desperation will make Arabs highly emotional and out of control. In the end, these negative U.S./Israeli tactics will backfire.
19. The waiting game...
Jesus ,   SF, USA   (08.14.06)
To all those that believe Hizbullah won. I suggest you step back and reconsider. The day Hizbullah wins will be the day that freedom is lost. Let me explain.... Yes, Hizbullah attacked Israel and Israel defended herself. Like everyone knows Hizbullah started to coward within the innocents of Lebanon. Hizbullah firing rockets and missles from within the civilian buildings and towns...knowing fully well that Israel would target them. When this happened...those innocents died. I hate to say it, but there will be casualties during war. When these civilians died people started to cry and yell to the world to stop the killings of innocent people. Hizbullah loved it and did it some more...knowing that people would cry more and more and then start to focus on the attention to Israel. Of course, Israel being the most powerful and democratic of the two, Israel limited its firepower and hence the ceasefire...which is good for now. Israel has decided to give the people's cry of diplomacy a chance...since Israel being the good one. Of course people are now focusing on Hizbullah and Hamas...both being terrorist groups. The moment she is attacked, NO ONE in the world will have the right to cry about Israel not defending herself...and that's when Israel will let her true power be seen! So...you see...Hizbullah are probably crapping their pants and counting their blessings...but you better believe that those terrorist groups will not be able to operate as they once did and will be walking on eggshells. So please...give Israel a reason to finish these terrorist groups off...The WORLD will be waiting on that precious moment!
20. Spokeperson?
jaybird06 ,   Dubai   (08.14.06)
Why do you accuse me of terror and supporting terror? Exchanging view and expressing what people think does not give you the right to accuse anybody. My heart goes out seeing both nations suffering because of political plans driven by invisible hands. We don’t want any bloodshed anymore…not Arabs and not Israeli blood…enough is enough! Disagreeing with one political view does not automatically make the other party a terrorist. Have the willingness to understand and accept ideas and views. If Hezbollah or anybody else, will bring disasters to Lebanon, then the hell with them! There is one looser here, people of Lebanon suffering because of a decision made on their behalf and without their consent, and the people of Israel for a war I bet they did not want becuase they had enough of this.
21. your experts ... experts of unintelligence?
daniel ,   France   (08.14.06)
22. Lorenzo - about the donkeys
Sumayah   (08.14.06)
Hezbollah must be defeated at all costs. This is not for Israel’s security alone but for the entire world. The problems caused by Islamic terrorism will not go away with kindness and love. Those who advocate this childish thesis are fools and have no understanding of Islam and the Muslim mind. Muslims interpret kindness as weakness; they become emboldened and increase their aggression. America committed a grave mistake not to retaliate the bombing of 1983 in Lebanon. This was a clear message to the Jihadists that America is weak, that it will cut and run when attacked, and that the Americans have no guts to fight. This brought more attacks on U.S. Had the U.S. destroyed Hezbollah at that time, killing hundreds of them then, we would not be facing this problem today and certainly Osama Bin Laden would not have dared to attack America in September 11, 2001. Islamic terrorism will only be stopped if defeated. Killing the terrorists is kindness to masses of Muslims. Muslim mind works in a peculiar way. They go where the power is. If we let the terrorists win, the masses of Muslims will side with them. Jihad is an obligation for every Muslim. But Jihad can be postponed until Muslims are strong enough to win it. If we let the terrorists win, we are sending the message to the masses of Muslims that we are weak and the time of jihad has come. So rise and kill us. The Muslim terrorists know that. That is why they are bombing and killing so indiscriminately. They have to prove to the masses of Muslims that they are winning. They know that if they can show that they are winning, they will have millions of Muslims joining them and Jihad will be unleashed.
23. Hezbollah won but not loosing
a Lebanese   (08.14.06)
24. what a Mullah do when he armed
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.14.06)
This conflict is a stunning example to the "Free World" , what a Mullah will do when he is armed ...... Taliban shown the sample.....Hizbollah confirmed it....Now world is waiting for the Iranian Khomeni clan. They(Mullahs) simply don't value the life of their own people.....people dying means nothing to them.....buzz world Jihad takes care of death issue....they maintain leadership by merciless killing of their opponent. for them:- -Twisted medieval ideology comes first. -Personal ego and false pride comes second. -Lives of their own people is not an issue at all. ...not even few protested against Hizbollah in south Lebanon....Hizbollah never even discussed to stop firing rockets.... sadly there is a world of hate out there...... Nasrallah & Hizbollah still hiding in dens but claim victory... whatever, Poor & Decent Lebanese paid their life as price to keep mad-mullahs going.
25. you are the liars
(08.14.06)
26. Is he alive? Then like the cockroach, he won!
Aaron ,   OZ   (08.14.06)
Did he manage to save a single life in Lebanon? Did he manage to prevent a single raid? Did he even manage to save his people? Yet he defended Lebanon? What a freak, If the lebs believe this shit they deserve him. However, unless the IDF is prepared to destroy Lebanon, or his entire power base, which they were not in this instance, there is no point in a larger war. Please, prior to the next installment, come up with some concrete objectives, and make them attainable.
27. To Lebanese Lorenzo

30. Hizbullah
Michael Abel ,   Zichrn Yaakov Israel   (08.14.06)
I don't think this was a victory for either side. But It was definetly a sign of the future. From this confrontation both sides know's there competition. For Israel we need to find some technology that will retard this action. Because now that it started it will never go away.
