1. Who REALLY owns the world media?
Arie ,   Afula   (08.14.06)
It was proven during the war that it isn't the Jews! In fact, one need only look at the lineage of most of the world's newspapers and you will notice an eerie familial relationship with the leaders of the nazis:from reuters doctoring images to newspapers skewing reporting to that woman that kept showing up EVERYWHERE in lebanon superimposed on bombed buildings to french news reports about the little girl who died in Gaza that was blamed on "Israeli special-ops" but actually died in a freak accident when she fell off a swing (no retraction of course as per adolf chirac). The list goes on:the BBC;reuters, the Guardian; the frog papers;of course the aRabids; and our own self-hating kapos at the NY Times
2. Who f---ing cares what the world media thinks
Talula ,   Israel   (08.14.06)
We Israelis know exactly what was going on in Haifa. We do not need to justify ourselves or our actions to any media from any country at any time. Just because it's not in the news, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
3. How does Olmert, Peres and the Left Feel About this?
H ,   Jerusalem   (08.14.06)
Perhaps this will cause Olmert, Peres, Peretz, Meretz, and all the Left idiots to realize that the foreign anti-Semitic media will NEVER, EVER accept Israel.
4. Where is ADL and Israeli government?
Bernard Ross ,   St. Anns Bay Jamaica   (08.14.06)
Why isn't ADL and Israeli government able to bring attention to this? Why is it that individual bloggers like little green footballs are able to do more?
5. So what else is new? Where are Israeli countermeasures?
Karen R ,   USA   (08.14.06)
WE already know about the BBC. And the media in general have been down on us ever since we had the hutzpah to win in 1967. But what is the Israeli government doing? There should be howls of outrage and angry press releases. Instead, we get "go it alone" braggadocio. Has the Israeli government sued Reuters over its doctored photos? Maybe what we need is a blogger uprising against the BBC and its friends. Check out what proportion is held by Arabs, etc. Good old investigative journalism joined with some citizen outrage like coordinated letter writing. Who will take the lead?
6. Foreign media
Miriam ,   Netivot   (08.14.06)
Fox News gave excellent Israeli coverage. They showed the whole Israeli picture. There were many interviews with army officials and they obeyed the censure guidlines. In many ways their coverage was better than Israeli T.V.
7. AS ALWAYS ,ISRAEL INTELLIGENCE FORCES 1ST PREVENT JOURNALIST
Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (08.14.06)
they prevent journalists to take photos & even to say where did bombs fall & how much casualties & they bother them from working ,arrest them etc....& after that you complain why world media don't show destructions & casualties in israel.can you explain pls.?
8. Hezbolla only "responds"
sandra ,   madrid   (08.14.06)
El Pais from Madrid uses this kind of languagge to refers to Hezbollá attacks to Israel. Is a "response". This is propaganda for Hezbollá.
9. A really good documentary
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (08.14.06)
Somewhere in the western world a really good director is looking for a really good documentary. Here it is. What happens when the world media is so bent on getting the gore? Fair and balanced reporting goes out the window. Photographers who can get the blood and the dead and the children become propagandist tools of terrorist regimes and end up owning the story. Death and destruction in Israel was not the headline news. Photographers here couldn't haul around dead bodies for photo shoots, or stage heart wrenching rescue operations. So Israel was ignored. Done right, this could be one of the top news documentarys of the decade.
10. Foreign media
meggie ,   Israel   (08.14.06)
WATCH FOX NEWS, they seem to care what happens here.

13. To No. 7
(08.14.06)
I see you conveniently omit the fact that Hebollah thugs take copies of reporters' passports before they'll allow them access and then they orchestrate what they want them to see and even threaten them with physical harm if they don't toe the Hezbollah line.
14. The all hate us
Ilan ,   The Netherlands   (08.14.06)
Why do we even give this a thought. We know that the world loves to hate us, even if they don't even know us. Who cares - let's move on, we know and that is all that counts. I am more concerned about the well being of my fellow Jews and what he or she has to say.
15. The Media
George ,   Lebanon   (08.14.06)
The reason behind this is that the media are used to the israeli crimes in all their wars and they know that israel will target civilians and commit crimes as usual. Crimes against humanity always occured in Lebanon and Palestine by the Israeli aggression. Since the founding of Israel in 1948 and they commit massacres.... Compared to what happened to Lebanon, Haifa bombing is a child play.....
16. WAKE UP! IT'S THE NEW BLOOD LIBLE
YOU ARE ASLEEP   (08.14.06)
http://michellemalkin.com/archives/005687.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_B1H-1opys http://newsbusters.org/node/6574 http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/2006/08/qana-directors-cut.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vPAkc5CLgc&eurl= http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/ Why hasn't Danny Gilerman protest to the Lebanese FM in the UN lie about 1100 civilians killed by Israel??? This IS NOT minnor details! these figures are all over the world, not mentioning once they are Hezbullah's casualties (550) included, and some 850 all togther with civilians. The war is not in Lebanon! it's around the world! you are demonized, and you're the last to notice the amount of hatred, that takes away every ability for to defend your self! and therefore is worth more than tanks and F-16!
17. Jews are doing a bad job in controlling the media!
Suzanne   (08.14.06)
;)
18. #15 are you nuts ?!!
jack ,   usa   (08.14.06)
israel aims its missles at terrorists after first warning all the civilians in the area beforehand. Any civilian who chooses not to leave is considered as abetting the terrorists. Hezbollah deliberately aims its missles at civilians. Have you forgotten the facts ?? Oh yeah, dont forget the hezbollah missles packed with ball bearing which is a war crime.
19. Just the Begining...
malcolm ,   NYC   (08.14.06)
What we saw up until now is just the beginning so fasten your seatbelts. Beirut will be swarming with fauxtojournalists working with Hizbollah “escorts”. The BBC will show endless footage for months on end of a wailing “Fatimah” and her 10 starving children in torn clothing , picking through garbage, fruitlessly digging through the rubble of their bombed out home searching for their dead 10 year old brother. She will defiantly thrust Jihad her youngest in front of the cameras saying “Look what Israel did , someday he will join Hizbollah and fight Israel”
20. TO #12
Aaron ,   OZ   (08.14.06)
Surely the various interest groups around the planet could come up with a way to make the news less biased, perhaps by introducing competition to AP? Although, given the current crop of journalists, the journalism professors seem to enjoy churning out masses of ill-educated, minority loving, left-wing ratbags, so I suspect it would be a little difficult to staff a media outlet that reported the truth. (oops, I may have pushed some of the buttons that will stop this being published? Go on, I dare ya, publish it, c'mon, please?)
21. No way to compare
julia   (08.14.06)
First, in order to cover the loses and keep misleading the Israels, IDF forbid media from covering what was going on. Second, the mass destruction practiced by the army make the international media shy to cover the slight destruction in the North. Finally, the misplaced people in Lebanon are more than 1 million, while 22,000 in Israel. The most important issue is the admiration of the international media of the courage of the Lebanese people, their love to their land. They don't care whether their houses are ruined or not, only what matters for them is the land. they will live in tents in the front of their houses or where they were untill they rebuild them. They own that land. It belonged to their ancestors. They were not paid to come and live there. They were not promised a luxuruous life. They know that their life is not easy, but they are strong more than you can understand.
22. no 3
(08.14.06)
Maybe you should understand that all the civilizied world won't accept you unless you change your behaviour and attitude toward the world. Stop being arrogant and learn that your are not so strong but your enemies are weak. I think that you have learned a good lesson this time. You are no more the irresistable army.
23. #7 don't talk bull shit
Suzanne   (08.14.06)
I've seen enough press photos of damage in Israel (only not shown in the "international media").
24. To 15
Erik   (08.14.06)
If Israel's "crimes" are to the degree you mention, why did: a) the news agencies feel obliged to rely on local Arab writers and photographers? b)these photographers have to doctor photos in order to maximize the appearance of Lebanese victimhood (a role you guys play very well) c) they avoid showing Israeli citizen victims of Arab terror? The answer is obvious-these agencies willfully serve as a propaganda unit for the Arabo/Islamofascists. They should be dealt with accordingly.
25. You are brought into a silent Nation...
Norway ,   Wilderness   (08.14.06)
The world will bring you into silence... - into an non-existing Nation... If we believe the world will react on Israels behalf - we are wrong - During WWII - the Holocaust - the world - including the USA - didn't react until the damage was done. We want to believe - we're in the "safe hands of America" - a Christian - "born-again" - American President... You - Israel is fighting your own war against Islam. But you are not allowed to defend yourself. The rest of the West are also fighting a war against Islam – led by the USA - but you Israel are unfortunately one of the nations that may have to be sacrificed - at the altar of oil. USA have their own way of appeasement, surrending of land... One should have believed that the democracies would liken the Israeli and their own struggle against terrorism – since we’re fighting the same enemy. USA and the rest of the civilized world should – long ago- have given thanks to the Israeli people for their courage – to sit alone in the frontline for all the western democracies – all these years - in the struggle against islamic terrorism. But no, instead the pressure is increasing at Israel, so your not mismanaging USAs policy in the MidEast. What they all are doing is to condemn Israels struggle for survival, condemn you for defending yourself against the Moslems conquering of land - and at the same time they are promoting anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism through media. To continue the "diplomatic" process - because nobody wants war - is waisting time and effort. We can not rely on the radical, anti-Semitic UN – they will never do anything. USA is to “weak” and can no longer both ride “an ass and a colt” – it spells TROUBLE - USA will soon have to choose – by showing their true colours. The rest of the world doesn’t care – driven by an insatiable appetite for wealth and political power – done best without the Jewish Nation – who are reducing their economical and political profit. Israel - you need to stand firm - united - if the Jews don't stand – if the Jews don’t act - we all will fall. Stand up and fight for your rights... Speak out for your Land your Torah your G*d... Put actions behind your words... Who brought Hamas upon you..? Who gave victory and pride to Immadinthehead..? Do something - revolutionary !
26. Could it be something to do with the scale of casualties and
blowback ,   london, england   (08.14.06)
How many Israeli civilians were killed? How many Lebanese civilians were killed? How many tons of explosives did Hezbollah unload on Israel? How many tons of explosives did Israel onload on Lebanon?
27. Response to George
Kenny G ,   Michigan   (08.14.06)
"Crimes, aggression, massacres." As usual, the Arab mouth reflects his own intentions. Your lies have no credibility here coming, as they do, from people who deny the Holocaust even as they try to commit the next one; and who deny any Jewish connection to Israel while fabricating "facts" to support the claim that the "Palestinians" - a made up nationality if there ever was one - have a better claim to the land. Keep lying, "George," it only strengthens our commitment to defend our rights.
28. Akko report was BBC's only honest moment
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (08.14.06)
The BBC has largely told of a war that didn't exist - the "war on Lebanon" rather than the war on Israel. And ITV has been just as bad. But I've already talkbacked (yes, I know it's not a real verb) enough about this. The only honest BBC report on television I can think of came a few weeks ago, immediately after a cascade of stinging criticism of the BBC for its unbalanced reporting and ignoring of the situation in northern Israel. On this occasion a BBC reporter visited Akko and gave a very fair picture of the devastation caused by rocket attacks. The reporter was Richard Bilton, not a Middle East correspondent at all, and probably unknown in Israel, but well known in the UK for his expert coverage of a disastrous epidemic in British cattle some years ago. Curiously, he hasn't as far as I am aware reported again from Israel and I wonder if the Akko report was simply intended as an answer to accusations of bias. To return to the article's heading, the foreign media sidelined Haifa - and everywhere else in northern Israel - because that wasn't the story they wanted. The story they wanted, of course, was wicked Israel bombing innocent Lebanon.
29. malvern14@msn.com
sylvan carr ,   new york, USA   (08.14.06)
It seemed as if CNN and the BBC were cheering the Hezbolla on. They could not have been more partisan relishing the predicament of Israel while ignoring its suffering. CNN as well as the BBC should be banned from Israel. I watched it all!
30. #26 wise question, but...
Suzanne   (08.14.06)
that does not mean that there should be a complete lack of reporting from areas devastated in Israel as well.
