31. The BBC is even worse then CNN
S Judah ,   london   (08.15.06)
ITV, BBC and CNN all the same. Any one seen the TV news satire show " Drop the Dead Donkey" Reporter Damien Day used to plant evidence to dramatise conflict. Childrens shoes, dolls, prams, people paid to act injured and homeless. Well thats how the this confilct was reported. Good news, despite all that ,most of the people in the UK hate the Islamist fanatics much more then they have doubts on Israel's conduct. In the end the over kill bythe media ended up in boredom and apathy by the masses of the UK public. Israel could have flattened all of Beruit and only the media would have shouted. Despite all the efforts of the media, genuine support for Hezbollah even in the Arab world has been minimal. There has been no mass protest in support of them anywhere.
32. CNN
harissa ,   Israel   (08.15.06)
CNN and BBC are very biased. I thnk the best is Sky news. An idea is why dont you also right to CNN?
33. media sensacionalisms or journalism
harissa ,   israel   (08.15.06)
To me is more than obvious that unless media gets paid or blocked by any local power, it will go with the tide and show as much horror as possible. No one noticed that in the meanwhile there was a cruel battle in Africa and that there was another Tsunami going on. This does not mean that they were less real or less important. Not even Gaza got any press. Media in TV wants to put people to feel. They deal with emotions. That is their bussines. Israel was not bloody enough or destroyed enough for them to make a good bouffet. It is yes, rather disgusting, but are the rules of the game. Has nothing to do with intelligent journalism, except for certain programs like hard talk in the bbc for example...so there you are...Is good to denounce it but a bit naive at the same time to get carried away by this things... Is terrible but you know...money makes the world go round...quite simple I would say.
34. RYAN
SAM ,   NEW YORK   (08.15.06)
You stupid and blind, i wish to see you among hezbollah, to see live on cnn, what you would say to blitzer
35. Its called freedom of expression. Or should it be censored?
Lebanese   (08.15.06)
36. have you noticed not 1 interview was made with Hez. opponets
in Lebanon?   (08.15.06)
throughout the entire war they never intervied even one! completely ignored Lebanese public voices such as this: http://hodja.wordpress.com/2006/08/11/brev-fra-beirut-the-most-hypocritical-people-on-earth-by-michael-behe-in-beirut/ and had literally formed a false picture about the life in beirut, by not reporting even once about normal peacefull life in non Hezbulla governed parts of Beirut, where population was absolutely certain it won't get hurt. I can't understand how CNN & BBC folks can sleep at night, with their loaded consciences.
37. They should be "snubbed!"
Khalid   (08.15.06)
Anyone who believes civillians from each side should be given 50% of the attention is making a rediculous demand! 1000 dead Lebanese civillians and 39 dead Israeli civillians. So when 96.2% of the victims are Lebanese then why should they not enjoy 96.2% of the media light??
38. statistics
eio ,   CT   (08.15.06)
Lets', for the sake of the argument, say it was biased. Statistically speaking there were about 50 civilians killed inIsrael as opposed to 1040 in Lebanon. That is about 200 times more. This means the Lebanese should get 200 X more coverage about their sufferings as opposed to the Israelis. This is just statistics. And by the way, if you think CNN is biased, I totally agree with you. The only point we might disagree upon is that I see CNN is totally biased for Israel and not Lebanon.
39. CNN, BBC
Bebe Attar ,   Monroe, NJ, USA   (08.15.06)
These news "giants" are of the same ilk - biased & anti-semitic - and have been for years. People put on CNN because they know it, never thinking to get news from other, fair\honest sources. Talk radio like WOR or WABC are excellent sources where thoughts & opinions are heard but where truth reigns!
40. boycott CNN - FOX onlyyyy!!!
o ,   usa   (08.15.06)
41. CNN COVERAGE
wilbur ,   canton usa   (08.15.06)
LEBANON PERMITTED MASSIVE ARMS/BUNKERS AND HEZBOLLAH..BUT FOR KIDNAPPING OF IDF SOLDIERS ON ISREALI SOIL CNN WOULD STILL BE CLUELESS.....IN TIME THE ISRAELIS SHOW PHOTOS ALLOW INTERVIEWS/AND ENGAGE IN DEMOCRATIC CRITICS OF THEMSELVES W/O HELP FROM CNN/ABC/CBS/TBS/ABC/BBC/ETC......THAT IS WHAT DEMOCRATIC NATIONS DO IN THE "DAYS AFTER!"
42. Liberal press: minority becomes majority...propaganda
David ,   Boston, USA   (08.15.06)
From what I have seen in the liberal press for the past decade at least, they prefer to focus on the minority of what is happening and not the majority, presenting warped sense of reality. Its so bad that in some cases that minority can become the majority because the press is influencing people so much that they are essentially making up reality and gullible masses end up following the inaccurate picture. Well, its better to be right than popular. Hmm, mainstream media is neither right or popular these days though. I wonder if blogs will eventually overtake the media because they are just as accurate these days, maybe more than some media.
43. questioning this article
Gillious ,   Canada   (08.15.06)
First of all I would like to start of by saying that I am a patriot of Israel and have long fought media bias. When it comes to CNN though, I was if anything surprised by their professionality, and did see quite abit of coverage regarding Israeli civilians and victims. CNN isnt perfect, but it had far better coverage than say BBC or some of the other European networks. Watching CNN I just dont see what the fuss over coverage is about, they did their jobs as a news station.
44. Fox news?
sdfdsf ,   Alabama   (08.15.06)
I didn't realize that there are israeli rednex!
45. CNN
W CHURCHILL ,   NEW YORK   (08.15.06)
JUST ASK YR CABLE PROVIDERS TO DROP CNN. AS A MINIMUM STOP WATCHING CNN. WATCH FOX.
46. #4 and #5 - it looks that way because
Kate ,   Jerusalem   (08.15.06)
Every person outside the war zone is completely dependant on media reports. The world has seen little of Israel's suffering because the media chose not to show it. It wasn't sexy enough. No parent was willing to allow the body of their child to be paraded in a photo shoot. But northern Israel was hit - and hit hard. We don't lightly send our young men and women to war and to danger. Over 3000 missiles hit homes, people died, houses and buildings are in ruins. Thousands fled to the south of Israel. We know the Lebanese people have suffered - and my heart goes out to them - BECAUSE I know from personal experience how devastating war losses can be. Ryan and NYer - Either you are heartless or foolish - but you are certainly misinformed. Unfortunately - world media is more to blame for that than you are.
47. BBC ALSO SHOWS LEBANESE HARDSHIP, IGNORES ISRAELI SUFFERING
Nannette ,   London, UK   (08.15.06)
What can anyone expect from an anti-Israel, anti-Jewish media agenda. CNN and BBC, they're the same, terrorist hugging, anti-western, orgnisations.
48. You are for laughing guys
(08.15.06)
You want everybody to support you by force ... where is the democracy you speake about all the time .... now you will accuse the CNN with anti-simitism ...... looooooool
49. cnn
joceline ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.15.06)
We need an English news channel made by Israelis and Jews around the world. I don't understand what are we waiting for? How can it be that with all the talent and the power we have, we don't seem to create an international channel that can portray our point of view to show it to the global world.
50. 2000-2006 blood libel with the help of world media

51. JEWS COME IN HERE
(08.15.06)
15 years I've been protesting, volunteering with Palestinian kids, active in left wing Meretz for Oslo agreements, and later for the withdrawal from gaza. I think it's safe to say we never stood a chance. Palestinians are depressed al right. but after having seen the most consistent refusal to use any chance for a new future on their part, or even to spend one penny on start building a state, or even just building cities instead of refugee camps, I can safely say: Their depression is a deliberated policy of their leaders. 15 years of our lives wasted on that, in the joke is on us. while we were engaging in peace process, they were ingaging in this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YM-XeaIn06g http://youtube.com/watch?v=Em-MnAYiEWk http://youtube.com/watch?v=5AiYIhdZcOg http://youtube.com/watch?v=WmnpMXOpaM4 http://memritv.org/Search.asp?ACT=S1# http://youtube.com/watch? v=kL5RKtwr7f0&mode=related&search= http://youtube.com/watch?v=VywyaQ12waw we never stood a chance. there was never any chance. but worse, while we were busy being surprised at the Palestinian's consistent refusal to give up hatred and move on to independence, a new blood libel emerged. with the help of global press, the Palestinians felt the have a wining card they can't give up. Israel as child murderer. It's too full of potential to forsake it for prosperity. they were right. its so successful Nasrallah had adopted it too. building bunkers beneath schools and houses. targeting from with in population. it doesn't matter how many Hez. we killed. we lost the war because the war is about setting the platform for non-legitimacy of our self defense. it is about setting the public platform for Iran's plan to wipe us out. We have been asleep. It is now 3:00 am in Israel and I can't sleep. Because I just realized what it is about. I look around me, and I see people having no clue what they're up against. http://youtube.com/watch?v=G5lE28JKxJM http://youtube.com/watch?v=QeZq9qQ7Nwk What shall we do? I haven't got a clue.
52. Bias
SusannainChicago ,   Chicago, USA   (08.15.06)
Ryan, you're a fool and an ignorant dope. Almost all the media is highly biased against Israel and has been for decades. They hate America and its friend, Israel. Anderson Cooper is so ignorant that he was shocked to learn that Nasrallah is anti-semitic. Go figure. I'm kind of guessing you hate Jews too.
53. oh poor israeli citizen
jerry ,   USA   (08.15.06)
poor poor israeli citizen. Look at what you guys did to the lebanese citizen. To their CHILDREN. I want to see israelis swing from the gallows in front of the hague
54. Lappin on CNN
Leonard Fein ,   Boston, USA   (08.15.06)
Is it not remarkable that Mr. Lappin describes a CNN report in the course of which the correspondent, reprting fon a rocket attack on Haifa, notes that "three people died, and all of them were Arab Israelis," and then himself goes on, in the very next paragraph, to say "The report did not mention any Israeli casualties." Ergo: "Arab Israelis" are not "Israelis." And we wonder why Israeli Arabs feel alienated?
55. #4 Ryan: it's a different CNN you watch!
jvdn70 ,   Amsterdam   (08.15.06)
Ryan you don't watch CNN International from Londonistan, UK but you see the one from Atlanta, GA. The cast of CNN International that reports on TV in Europe and the ME is much less neutral than the CNN crew in the US. I occastionally watch Cooper's 360 and rarely miss Blitzer's late edition because their reporting is much more balanced. CNN International and the BBC do have a very strong tendency to give a lot of airtime to people critical of Israel, Bush and Blair, that's unfortunately how the news in the UK has devolved over the last few decades.
56. CNN
Don ,   California, USA   (08.15.06)
Nobody watches CNN in the US anyways. They are a joke. May the people of Israel be blessed.
57. Ryan fro Chicago y-net does not claim to be international
Mike ,   Israel   (08.15.06)
CNN is and was always biased they should be thrown out of this great country. And as for you moron you have a choice not to read this site. So go read some "real news" like the star or some tabloid you love get lost just dont come here again.
58. #35 You got to be kidding me you muslims
Mike ,   Israel   (08.15.06)
Are either realy realy stupid for someone in Lebanon to say freedom of expression is just un real. Its amazing he knows what that means. As if the world got freedom of expression in Lebanon. Your an idiot for even thinking that.
59. Nr 10 KMR
Leon ,   Grand Rapids U S A   (08.15.06)
BBC is biased, because it has world-wide exposure, and it feels it has to compete with Al-Jazeera. As Billy Carter once said, "There's lots more Arabs than there are Jews". Money talks, alas!
60. #49
Lee ,   washington dc   (08.15.06)
You are so right, Joceline! Not only should there be a satellite channel in English, but a professional one in Arabic as well (while Israel Radio gets a good amount of listeners from Arab countries, Israel TV's Arabic newscasts are of comparatively poor quality). Al-Jazeera is getting set to launch an English-language news service. For God's sake, Israel should be able to put together a high quality satellite news and info channel.
