1. Funny indeed
A F ,   Bangalore   (08.17.06)
You Israelies have become so skeptical about everything. Why is it this is not reported by other news networks?
2. Hezbollah Franchise
Nali ,   North Florida   (08.17.06)
Hezbollah has recently incorporated itself and is offering franchise territories. The ideal Market Segment are countries with poor and uneducated populations, where Islam and Sharia law appeals to common sensibilities. New offices to open in Paristinian offices near you.
3. Complete Lie
Chris ,   LA   (08.17.06)
If there is anything I've ever been sure of in my life it's that Syria would never make a guerilla war for the Golan Heights or any war for that matter... The fact of the matter is the Syrian leaders don't care about anything except their monetary and financial interests and an Israeli war with Syria would result in damage to that wealth. Bashar can't take the destruction of his palaces. Syrian leaders can't afford any populist movement because eventually it will backfire. This will turn out to be completely fake, I am too certain of it...
4. Monkeys AND guerillas?- Syria is turning into a
Talula ,   Israel   (08.17.06)
giant size zoo.
5. Iran -Syria - Al Queda all fighting in Lebanon as Hizbullah
Lemar ,   uk   (08.17.06)
Thats the result of Olmerts and Peretz strategy of not taking south Lebanon. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER. And if Israeli's cant see this and still vote for him they deserve what they get.
6. Pathetic
Charlotte ,   London   (08.17.06)
Wow Syria really is itching to be transported back to the stone ages. What a pathetic country.Contribute nothing to the world and talk like a bully in the playground.Amazing.
7. Syrian Guerilla Force is Syrian Army . . .
Harry   (08.17.06)
Accordingly, any attacks by a Syrian Guerilla Force would allow a full-on response against Syrian cities by the Israeli army. Unlike the pretense of Lebanon - Israel restrained itself from total destruction because of the myth that Hezbollah wasn't actually the State army. In a Syrian situation, all bets are off - any attacks on Israel should be met with total Syrian destruction.
8. Staying United
Lee ,   NY, NY   (08.17.06)
This war is far from over. At this very time, Israel is appearing as the loser in the world press. Why? Because we project ourselves that way. We "eat" one another. This must stop. And stop now.
9. #4 Monkeys
Rustum ,   London, UK   (08.17.06)
As usual, YNET produces uncorroborated news which serves only to reinforce Israelis' sense of beleaguerment. However, none of this excuses the ape-woman Talula - who uses every little snippet of news to refer to Arabs/Lebanses/Moslems/Syrians/Iranians as some form of monkey. Why don't you give it a break, luvvy. It only shows up your own stupidity one more time. Who do you think you are - so superior that you make sneering remarks about every non-Jew in the region? Syria will not be forming a guerilla group to reclaim the Golan. The Syrians have settlements right up to the demilitarised zone and they will not be prepared to pay the price the Lebanese have paid for a victory.
10. thank you Mr. Olmert!
uli ,   Jerusalem   (08.17.06)
It was obvious that that will be the result of our golves tackticks. we have to understand, less IDF now, will cause a lot of IDF in the future. IT IS FORBIDDEN TO GIVE THE SHEBA FARMS UNDER ANY CONDITION. They will attack us, until the end.
11. Don't worry - it won't work anyway.
Karen R ,   USA   (08.17.06)
Poor Assad doesn't understand Hizbullah - despite being their sugar daddy. Hizbullah works because it gets the people to identify themselves with it. It gives extensive charity, runs youth groups, etc. and recruits from within its own community using religious enthusiasm against an external occupier (Israel in the '80's). Likewise the Viet Cong. Professional soldiers won't be able to do the job. Remember the Green Berets getting creamed by the Viet Cong? The few villages in the Golan wouldn't be adequate. Assad is just trying to borrow some of Hizbullah's glory.
12. syria

enough is enough shut this idiot up fly past his house again and rattle his windows then turn damascas into an other beirut arab fuks
13. As Sec. Rice stated:
(08.17.06)
in the coming days, "we will see who is for war and who is for peace."
14. #2 Nali: Not too far from the truth
Jose Jimenez ,   Chihuauha, MX   (08.17.06)
The model seems to work. The drug lords in South and Central America do the same thing. They get the "innocent civilians" to support them and cover up their illegal activites by throwing them a few bags of rice and building them a mud and stick "school" (otherwise know as an indoctrination center). Then, through their illegal activities, they buy weapons and buy (or kill) their way into local governments. (This is actually beginng to happen in the SW U.S.) In the mean-time the "school" brain washes the young into believing whatever religious or political mantra the criminals can promote to build fanatical loyalty. In a few short years they have a fanatical, gun toting militia to take bullets for them. In the end the poor stay poor and die. The criminals get rich and eat well off of their criminal activities and the blood of the poor.
15. Why not? Who is going to stop them?
Gal ,   כרמיאל   (08.17.06)
Everyone has had a hayday bashing Israel who sent their soldiers to fight a war for the whole world. A war most of the world knew would be fought while knowing what Hezbollah was up to. Yes Israel made mistakes but right at the crescendo of that war the US and France ran to the UN and made a horrible cease fire resolution. This is the way to treat Israel? I think not! In the mean time spineless world leaders ignore both Syria and IRAN and no one finds that worth bashing!! Or the way the war in Iraq has been executed. Yes, the same conservatives who will say not one word about that are slamming my people. We Israelis are finding who are friends truly are. One of these days Israel will have to deal with Syria when Syria lobs a serious weapon at us. The same people who are enjoying bashing and criticizing how we executed our war, ignoring 'who' co-authored this cease fire, will wring their hands in astonishment when my people take the hit from the Syrian/Iranian missile. Shame on the world.
16. To #2
Response   (08.17.06)
Yes the Paristinian and Oraqi .. because they are uneducated and dum.. But unfortunatly these poor nations will take your foolish country and Israel on their knees ...
17. You can't get it
Anyone   (08.17.06)
Yes, The only reason why Israel is keeping the Golan because Syrian Army and All Arab armies are designed to control population. Not to fight Israel. But any small group of population with some effective weapons will have a nice Ride inside isreal .. Every one knows that now. And guess what you can't use Nukes so close to your borders .. Ha Ha Ha
18. Syria's new guerilla force
Rolf ,   BITBURG,GERMANY   (08.17.06)
Israel's latest defeat is a lesson that is studied by all. You are in checkmate now. The next miscalcution may include a dose of chinese and russian missles with a very nasty surprise on top. The Israeli government is like a caged animal emiting noxious sounds.None sound peaceful. If you dont think this is checkmate, go ahead and "take out" syria and iran.my advice for Israel is behave and be quiet. Give peace a chance. Shalom.
19. next time no mercy for population of any country!

"Syria will not be forming a guerilla group to reclaim the Golan. The Syrians have settlements right up to the demilitarised zone and they will not be prepared to pay the price the Lebanese have paid for a victory. " * And rest assured, even if they do Rustum will be far away in London. Why be bothered with things that don't affect you? That's what I always say. And why focus on pragmatic discussion when we can attack the REAL cause of infighting, fear and war: a lack of "multicultural understanding?" If we all took multicultural appreciation classes, the world would be a safer place.
22. Ralf
Avraham ,   NY   (08.17.06)
How does it feel to know that Germany lost two - not one - two world wars? How does it feel to know that millions of Germans been killed in both wars and millions more were maimed and wounded? How does it feel to know that your 1,000 year Reich was over in 12 years? How does it feel to know millions of German women raped? Perhaps you're a product of such a relationship or a descendant thereof. Germany is very peaceful now, it's learned its lessons. So, before you open your dirty mouth, you German neo-Nazi, think of your own history. You sound truly pathetic.

Clausvitch ,   Paris, France   (08.17.06)
OK, DO THAT ASSAD, AND YOUR "CIVIL" wont be "civils " anymore. ..and becuase for you killing israeli in Haifa is a great victory, we WILL CHANGE THE DEFINITION OF A SYRIAN CIVIL, a syrian civil is a guerrilla troop. Get ready for total war.

27. to #15 CIVILIZATION GAP
yann ,   Paris, France   (08.17.06)
Gal, STOP checking at the image of israel in the world. ISRAEL will be judge on it's acts. Arabs change true to write their own history.lies lies lies as usual. But even if westerners are leaking oil on arabs ass, the written history is globally true, there's still a civilazation gap that oil can't bride. so KEEP ON. yann , paris

Why don't you address the nub of this problem - people like Talula who think that it's just fine to refer to any non-Jew in the Middle East as a monkey or an ape. Do you not think that this translates into israel's political ideology? Not, of course, in every politician - as there are some on the left who attempt to deal on the basis of equality. So come on, tell me if you feel that Talula's constant references to non-Jews as apes and monkeys is an acceptable part of the political discourse. And as for where I will be, I may well be in Damascus so you question as to how these things bothers me is a waste of your breathe and a waste of my time to answer. Zei gezint.
29. Amazing how Assad forgets the last time
Mike ,   Israel   (08.17.06)
He tried to mess with Israel what happend. In a few hours his so called airforce lost 98 jets over lebanon. If i had one wish that wish would be for syria to launch an attack on Israel. I truly beleive that the core of the problem is Sryia and that in a few short days the syrian army would be finished. The truth is Assad know this. So bring it on monkey man prove to the world your a man.
30. the syrian cowards
LONDON ,   LONDON   (08.17.06)
If the syrians plan to use terror as an unofficial governmental tool I dont think it will be successfull, particularly because the Golan area gives a strategic advantage it will be more difficult to use hizbullah/cowardly terrorist tactics against Israel.
