Erm, what are you going on about? Iran was divided into British and Soviet influence zones. Iran was formally Persia and is bankrupt, cant even repair towns from the Iran-Iraq war or the Earthquake. Lebanon, was formally a christian country and prospered with French money, people and ideas. Until they left.
