Please learn a little about who the former SLA soldiers and what were their personal circumstances before you unfairly call all of them 'traitors'. Words are an interesting thing; for instance, I believe that someone that deliberately provokes the destruction of his country and rejoices whe his fellow countrymen dies, all of this after years forbidding his country's army to exercise sovereignity upon half the land, this person can be called a traitor. They were persecuted because they were Christian. They supported Israel's fight against terror. Christians are slowly fading from the Lebanese landscape. It was once a majority Christian country. It used to be, but since the palestinians and lebanese muslims got together they have ripped it apart. Not everyone in Lebanon wants to live under muslim Sharia or rant about jihad all the time. Anyone in his right mind would not be patriotic to that.

I served with many SLA members and not one of them was anything less than patriotic, they wanted a free democratic Lebanon, it was the Palestinians,AMAL and Hizballah that wanted to divide Lebanon. Instead of greeting them with open arms, the Syrian backed Lebanese government labelled them as traitors. Syrian backed well there is no patriotism in that, right?

turend there villages in south Lebanon in to Terror camps more than ten years before Israel invaded Lebanon! suprisingly they didn't only export terror from Lebanon to Israel, but terrorised everybody who were different from them: Christians, Druse, Sunnis, you name it. By the time Israel had ever set foot in Lebanon (1983) they hadn't only mannaged to murder dozens if Israelis in invasions to Israel, but had also mannaged to slaughter hundreds in Lebanon. If you are really from South Lebanon then Bravo! I cannot tell you how many Israelies I know who feel the same way. But I must say that what I find most distressing right now is that it's Hizbullah - using Iran's oil money - who is helping the civillians. Siniora loves to shed tears when Israel bombs, but where iis the government when the cease fire is finally secured? I hope for the sake of all Shiias, Sunnis and Christians that HIzbullah is weakened, government corruption and inaction is reduced to tolerable levels and Lebanon finally gets the opportunity to live up to its huge potential.

I was an SLA member...... was I right or wrong? I asked myself that quesiton many times. I am now in Lebanon and had served 3 months in jail for my presence in the SLA. If you think like a minority, you would fear the others, especially how Israel portrays them. But if you think beyond your nose, you find that I was wrong and I thank God that they did not kill me. When Hizballah took over, they could have killed all of us who stayed, but no one was even hit on his face. I killed some Hizballah fighters before 2000, Lebanon only jailed me for 3 months.. I regret it and I now wish I can give those figthers back the life I took. We were treated well by Hizballah all those years. SLA are not just Christians. They come from all backgrounds. SLA beleived in a Free Lebanon. I'm sure some SLA men fought alongside the Israelis in the July War.
