(08.23.06)
and the academy award for dumbest person in canada goes to.....you! iran said during the war that they would destroy israel. hizbullahhhh said it would destroy israel during the war. israel said it will send lebanon back 20 years (not 50 by the way)... are you feeling like the moron you are yet?
32. Amnesty´s three main errors.
Isaac Haskiya ,   Roskilde - Denmark   (08.23.06)
Error 1: Observing events with one blind eye and the other biased. Error 2: Playing prosecutor. Error 3: Playing judge. Other errors: a six-year silence while Hezbullah was preparing for war, its own interpretation of "International Law", running for Arabs´errands...and so on.
33. why did amnesty not remember terror against innocence people
schulz ,   bad germany   (08.23.06)
in Israel? This is the point to make the different at their business! Never can start terror without war come back!
34. So what's new? Should be Travesty International
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (08.23.06)
With CNN International, Sky News, the BBC and others helping the world sport of Israel Bashing, Reuters and other "News" Agencies tampering with photos and video, how could Amnesty International, the constant condemner of Israel do anything thing else? Amnesty International would have blamed the Jews for the Holocaust, would have branded a little baby girl shot out of her father's arms in Hebron, a war criminal and Israel's fight for survival against 1.5 billion Muslims a crime against humanity! The truth is that the world likes to see dead Jews, but when Jews don't want to die, that's a War Crime. Maybe when the next natural disaster falls on the World of Islam, we should remember the words of Moses: "Let my people go"!
35. Predictable Penalty For Ignoring Effective PR Practice
Paqid 16, Netzarim ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.23.06)
Anyone who didn't see that coming from the first day of the war needs their behind kicked. It was as predictable as sunrise because Muslims practice proactive PR and propaganda while Israel, only as an after thought, whines "hasbara" (explaining) reactively. For the remedy, see http://www.netzarim.co.il/ConvCtr/ConvCtr.htm#YBD200608211330 Paqid Yirmeyahu Israeli Orthodox Jew Advancing Logic as Halakhic Authority Welcoming non-Jews www.netzarim.co.il
36. To Amir al Safir #19
jert ,   jul   (08.23.06)
Amnesty Intl bases its claims on a bunch 'international laws' rendered obsolete by the new rules of war dictated by the islamofascist, worldwide. The organisation has never had a say in underdeveloped countries, but now risks to loose its credibility in the developed world, due to its anachronistic phylosophy.
37. Amnesty
Dr John Maxwell ,   Rechovot Israel   (08.23.06)
Hizbolla was of course using only "precision rockets" to hit only military targets in Kiryat Shmona, Safed, Carmiel etc, & we are accused of "War crimes"!! Why o Why do we bother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
38. Amnesty International
Paul Taylor ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.23.06)
As a former and active member of AI I am disappointed that no mention seems to have been made about Hizbullahs' delibrate, constant and unremorseful bombing of civilian targets- of the 4000+ missile attacks into northern Israel by this terrorist organisation all their attacks where against civilian targets! Every death caused was in their blood thirsty campaign a celebration and victory. Their total disregard and hatred for Israel and its democratic nature has produced a barbarism that threatens to throw the world back to the Middle Ages-this is what they want, a world subjugated to islamic law, where rights for women etc. is irrelevant. Whilst I mourn for every individual hurt, damaged or killed in war and conflict AI and the whole international community must act with equanimity , wisdom and force before a nucleur disaster. This horror seems ineviatable especially if organisations like AI and the UN whose uncommited responses seem completely misguided and naive.
39. warcrimes ????
arno ,   rehovot isr   (08.23.06)
why is it that every time there is a military conflict involving israel the supposed to be impartial organisations first of all accuse the jewish state of warcrimes. they don"t mention the initiaters they don"t mention the crimes Hezbollah committed Just because the firepower of israel is more advanced and powerfull don't blame them for using it if neccessary.I recall pamplets being thrown in resedential neighberhoods to warn of any airstrikes to avoids civilian cassulties .What other country does that??
40. #18 Check these facts
Molly ,   London   (08.23.06)
A war crime is when you kidnap soldiers ro even take pows for the sake of argument and then you kill them see ron arad, and all the others who se bodies havent been recovered, those are war crimes. hitting stategic sites are part of the rules of war and not Crimes.
41. What did you expect?
Anthony ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (08.23.06)
Amnesty International always have criticized Israel for almost everything they've done. It's an organization that NEEDS this kind of war and situations like that to make people remember they exist and to collect funds. Nothing to worry about.. just the same old routine for them...
42. Amnesty deliberately hits common sense...
Marc ,   NICE, France   (08.23.06)
"Amnesty International said it would address Hezbollah's attacks on Israel separately" Consciously or not, Amnesty is doing its best to consolidate the only tactical advantage of Hisballah : Deliberately targeting civilians, while hiding among civilians (and/or UN observers, BTW). Then, in the same move, Amnesty hits common sense, truth, morality, and Western interests. Business As Usual : Islamic terror finds its best friends inside our liberal system ... A bad israeli response to these accusations would be, on the next round, to carpet bomb for real any place where terrorists are allowed to hide, and then deserve the "international community" accusations for good. Just to show Amnesty and Kofi, and "international bla-blee-blahh", once for a while, what targeting civilians means for a modern Western military might. After all, if we are always to be considered as the bad guys, why not taking the advantage of immorality ? Just once, to be *respected* by these thugs and their "liberal" implicit (or explicit) allies ? IMHO, Ynet spoils bandwidth when publishing "Amnesty" theatrical performance.
43. to #19: I don't have respect to UN and Amnesty, but ...
Haim ,   Israel   (08.23.06)
I do suspect our actions in Lebanon are not white clean. International organizations are biased and always rush to condemn Israel and are too slow and unwilling to condemn terror organizations hiding under “resistance” titles. On the other hand I do suspect our government in dirty games. We see too much evidence of dirty politics related to IDF, reservists, northern citizens, and others. I don’t trust them and will be not surprised to see similar “dirty” approach to Lebanon, including possibly war crimes. I don’t believe in international organizations to judge, but I do believe in Israeli legal system. We demand highest level inquiry of government and IDF actions in this war including war crimes investigation whenever see any evidence. If found guilty – they should be brought to justice according to Israeli law that strictly prohibits such actions. This is the difference with Hezbollah that not just performs war crimes intentionally targeting civilians, but also consider them legitimate resistance.
44. More of the same from 'Travesty' International.
Jane ,   UK   (08.23.06)
Human shields, media shields, UN shields, now Amnesty International join the queue to protect those who cold bloodedly attack Israeli civilians as part of their agenda to eradicate the Jewish state..... How much more shields do Hezbollah need. They must be giving out sweets in the streets again ..... to "civilians" of course. Courageously hiding in tunnels and emerging to fight from behind women and children and their homes seems to be an acceptable practice to this increasingly anti-Semitic organisation.
45. #1
Adrienne Schwartz ,   Johannesburg South A   (08.23.06)
Could not agree more, but unless we start an International Group against Amnesty International, one that has teeth, how do we get the world to hear their oh-so-balanced views?
46. NO AMNESTY ON ISRAEL'S INNOCENTS!!
Scott   (08.23.06)
This organisation is so biased ,FULL OF SHIT!
47. SO , UNBELIEVABLY 100% BIAS!
Da Sphincter   (08.23.06)
What a disgusting crowd of do-gooder fools
48. NO NEED FOR AMNESTY FOR NEXT WAR
NUDENIK 69   (08.23.06)
They wont know where to start such will be the scale of it. I detest these morons, they are the very worst of the self-righteous, pious , politically correct in our community. Dickheads.
49. AI probably stands for
NTI ,   Red Chili   (08.23.06)
Ansari al-islam, i.e. Supporters of islam. It is really easy to just sit with hands folded and point fingers at the victim, Israel, when their master, islam beckons. These blood idiots need to read this: "Jihadi Civilians" http://www.news.faithfreedom.org/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=377
50. Amnesty - Another Terrorist Organisation
Stanley ,   Israel   (08.23.06)
And Hezbollah’s ball-bearing loaded warheads, aimed at killing and maiming are ignored? Amnesty International’s one-sided approach to “war crimes” clearly puts them and their leadership in the terrorist camp. Frankly they should be listed as a terrorist organization and its leadership should be fair game in the war on terrorism.
51. Irene Khan and Kofi can get a room together
John ,   NZ   (08.23.06)

Lie down with dogs you get fleas. Lie down with terrorists you die.
53. It is not seriuos from A.I.
Harissa ,   Argentina   (08.23.06)
I many times signed A. petitions for I am a human right deffender, but this time I am sorry Amnesty, this what you are doing is not serious. How come you bring out a statement like this without having participate in an investigation?
54. Sign petitions to reject this, write to Amnesty!!

55. No. 38, Paul Taylor
NYC Girl   (08.23.06)
Since you describe yourself as an active member of Amnesty International, I hope there are others like you and that your voices can be heard. There are many of us whose natural inclination would be to support a group like AI...until we see the unremitting bias they have against Israel.
56. AA's opinion is worthless!
Matthias Roth ,   Switzerland   (08.23.06)
57. ONLY GOOD AT WAR CRIMES
Simon   (08.23.06)
having failed to defeat a few thousands guerillas of the lebanese resistance, The Israeli Army, 40 000 strong with the best, latest and greatest of american weapons and 10 billion budget , did what it knows best , destroying civilian infrastructure and maiming, killing , and terrorizing the civilian population.
58. Amnesty from ISRAEL go and F--k yourselves
ERIC,,, ,   ISRAEL   (08.23.06)
Amnesty are Jew haters.Amnesty are bastards,Iam real mad.I wonder why we have terror in this world.Let them go to hell.
59. #40 Really????
George ,   Lebanon   (08.23.06)
Maybe you need to refresh your memory and go back before kidnapping these soldiers. It is israel who is occupying the arab lands, israel has in its terror cells more than 10,000 prisoner ( a lot are minors) , it is israel who committed and still committing massacres whether in Palestine or Lebanon. Israel was found on the blood and bones of the women and children since 1948. Ron Arad was targeting Lebanese civilians when his plane crashed in Lebanon, he wasnt taken from his swimming pool while drinking whiskey. You should really go and check the definition of war crimes before posting ur comment. Israel should withdraw from all the occupied territories, release all the hostages and then start talking about peace....
60. DONT WORRY - if i am correct, there will be a special report
Suzanne   (08.23.06)
released on Hezbollah Pity they dont come at the same time and/or that the Israeli one comes before. All the things AI is accusing Israel of are DEFINITELY valid for Hezbollah. It's time that Amnesty prepares some more time on working on more balanced reports concerning the Middle East.
