Geronimo   (08.23.06)

3. Navigation error and other errors
Chanan ,   Jerusalem   (08.23.06)
No not navigation error, rather poor command and the only Rav Aluf (Lieutenant General) is Dan Halutz, so it was not a Rav Aluf.
4. injury by mine is terrible
karlos   (08.23.06)
perhaps the reason Israel refuses to give Lebanon the maps of the mines laid by IDF, is that they don't know where they are?
5. Another IDF Failure
Morris Harris ,   NY   (08.23.06)
Can anyone truly fathom the utter depth of the IDF's incompetence? It is no longer a mystery why Israel has not provided the Lebanese government maps of the minefields it laid during its last occupation. Apparently, these maps do not even exist. Otherwise, wouldn't the IDF High Command have given them to its field commanders now operating in southern Lebanon? The only conclusion one can reach is that the Israeli military doesn't give a damn about the safety and well being of its troops. It is time for all Israelis to begin to take a hard and critical look at their society.
6. What are IDF soldiers doing in Lebanon?

7. Yet an other sign
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (08.23.06)
about the mess which has taken over IDF....there is no reason why this happened ...nor excuses...! One thing is for sure organisational capabilities of IDF have gone down the drain...It was visible from the 2nd day of the war...onward...And this is not only a matter of missing military intelligence....and ll of this in spite of the courage and determination of our soldiers. IDF, Pertz and the like should really question themselves: are they still the right people to manage what they mismanaged ?

the 1701 resolution doesn't forbid to bump into own mines at the time when IDF soldiers already used to it as Hizbollah taught them it

Asking Israel to remove mines is un ethical and is an act of anti-semitism, so please stop being an anti semite! Thanks.
12. Too Dangerous
Faisal ,   Hyderabad India   (08.23.06)
These mines were laid by IDF at the time of occupation and it was needed for the security , but missing so much important information abt mines is very terrible. Hope that IDF will remove all those mines or else try to take out the maps of the mines and hand over to Lebanese govt.
13. As you sow, shall you reap
Hussain ,   Manchester UK   (08.23.06)
Israeli soldier dying from Israeli mines laid in Lebanon. How sad. Do people of Israel not give a though of little children who play and step on these mines laid down by IDF. I would like to plead with Israelis to asl their army to remove these mines and make peace with people of Lebanon. I believe that Lebanon and Israel can live in harmony and friendship. Its time to put the guns away forever. Both sides have shown courage to shoot each other. Now it is time to show courage to sit down with one another and talk about mutual concerns. I am sure both sides can give each other security and peace that is badly needed. Language of love is more powerful than language of force. Give it a try. Lets not let outsiders play games with children of Abraham.

israel planting mines in a neighboring country in civilian areas is completely unethical and unhuman. refusing to submit the mine maps to the lebanese government is criminal. so do not mix things up and involve anti semitism in every issue one day the fact that israel will loose in a sport event will be according to your standards anti semitic. enough is enough stop this joke.

20. #13 So then you admit Leb got its destruction justifiably?
RA   (08.23.06)
Since as you say, "as you sow, shall you reap." I guess they sowed terror, and reaped an all-around ass kicking. So you just officially stated that the deaths in Lebanon are no one else's fault but their own. I'm really glad to hear you say that, I never heard a Muslim say that before. God bless you for seeing the truth!

moe ,   montreal, Qc   (08.23.06)
Israel, against all the civil laws, left in lebanon thousands of landmines, which they still refuse to give the maps to disarm them. I hear people talk about terrorists and terrorism, but what can be more terrorist then working on killing civilians, a thing Israel is doing since ever. If lebanon is defending itself, it's act of terrorism, If israel is attacking and killing civilians in lebanon it's a self-defence. what a screwed up concept.
