1. Don't Worry: Religious Jews Are Having MANY More Children
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (08.29.06)
Look at the growth rates in the religious neighborhoods of the cities, as well as the Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza (may it be rebuilt soon): MANY of these places average 7-8 children per family- nearly DOUBLE that of Muslims. This will only continue. Allah wills it.
2. to #1, yes but apparently it's not having an effect
Jenny   (08.29.06)
If the religious women have 7-8 children and the rest have 0-1 children, it will not make so much of a difference. As the report stated, Jewish fertility rates remained the same for 10 years.
3. This is a Sign : They value life.
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.29.06)
They don't intend their children blow-themselves-up in streets. Result of Hateless education.
4. Druze and Christian Israelis have less children than Jews
Jake   (08.29.06)
It is unfortunate that the Moslem Arab community is still leading by far the feritility rate in Israel (4 per woman), compared to 2.7 for Jews, 2.6 for Druze, and 2.2 for Christian Arabs. Moslem Arabs in Israel live mostly in villages isolated from Jewish society and are most forthright in their self-identification as Palestinians and identify least with the Israeli state, other than the Galilee Beduins. The Christian Arabs are the closest to the Israeli Jewish society in culture, family life, education, and general values, and they have been historically an important line of communication with the Arab sector. The Druze have historic ties to the Jews and the Israeli state and serve in the Israeli army. If the Druze and Christians of Israel are falling in number relative to the Moslems, that AIN'T good news for Israel.
5. Pay the Arabs to Leave, Solve the Conflict
Robert S. Barnes ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.29.06)
There are at least two plans in the news in Israel for encouraging Arabs to emigrate with financial incentives. One was written by myself and published on Arutz-7 as an editorial, There is an Alternative http://www.israelnationalnews.com/article.php3?id=6075 The other is by a professor from Tel-Aviv University associated with the Jerusalem Summit, and is called the Humanitarian Regional Solution: http://www.jerusalemsummit.org/eng/hs_short_eng.htm
