Almost everybody commenting on this site predicted that the cease-fire giving powers of decision to Annan would lead to anti-Israel decisions, based on Annan's history. Just another Olmert error.

Right next to the UNIFIL post, is a Hezbollah bunker. What did they think it was gohpers out there digging.. Our Canadian soldier that was killed sent an email to CTV news (as a last resort since UN was not listening) informing them that Hezbollah fighters were in and around the UNFIL post. Annan should be tried for war crimes!

you are confused. hezbollahs weapons and the weapons of private citizens are different. hezbollahs weapons come from iran, and are for the purpose of fighting israel and america from lebanon. lebanon to hezbollah and iran is simply a football field to play their game on. they really really don't care about your 'stolen rights'. right now it is a torn up football field, and the first game of the series has just been played. the question lebanese need to ask is do they want another game to be played?

France who took the leadership of the UNIFIL see lifting of the blockade as a major necessity for the success of the cease fire. 3.World wide concern about the humanitarian conditions in Lebanon during the war is still rising with the continual suffering of the Lebanese. Eroding the economy of Lebanon which is already weakened by the war is not acceptable internationally whatever justification given.

We should not be syrprised by Mr Annan, one who has shown non-stop bias and did not implement the same UN resolution years ago. Have no doubt UN will sink back into the same old rut. UNIFIL was ineffec tual, and with all the noise at the moment, the new force will be exactly the same. There is nothing new.. Mr Annan can accuse Hisballah as well, but am sure will not. Does he not remember how this war started?after they abducted our soldiers - Does he have such a short memory of convenience???

Please don't lift the blockade until the kidnapped soldiers are returned. It's a simple request. Give them back: Blockade ends. Keep our boys, and there will be no fuel, food or commerce. Only Olmert could expect to Negotiate with Hezbullah. (How about swapping Olmert for the soldiers?)

The UN resolution that "Israel" accepted in the security council, with the approval of the US clearly states that the Hostilities should end from both sides, and that the blockade should disapper. The UN resolution Mentiones no connection between hostilities and blockade with the release of the POW. I also think that the UN should disappear from the political world, because it has no effect what so ever, especially with the prresence of the US in it, which is actually acting like a child with a new toy. The POW will not return back unless the Lebanese prisoners are all returned to Lebanon. Refering back to Nasrallah's interview on NTV, PATIENCE HAS LIMITS,and the amonia tanks are still a TIME BOMB! Only the side that won the war has the right to dictate its rules, "israel" in this case does not have the right.
