Alan ,   SA   (08.31.06)
7. and rockets?
eugenie ,   jerusalem   (08.31.06)
Is it ok to shoot ball bearings laden rockets and missile into civilian populations? I say ban UN, AI and all the rest of the no good hypocrites. Where is the UN and AI when Hammas and Hezbollah recruit children for terrorism, much in the line of Hitlerjugend???
8. or better still
eugenie ,   jerusalem   (08.31.06)
Ban everything except suicide bombings and infidel beheading on Al-Jazeera.
9. #1, #3, #6
Marhaba ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.31.06)
With your argument, you are equating yourself to the suicide bombers.. Your logic is btw very similar to that of the suicide bombers. Same reasoning.. Either you are both right, or you are both wrong
10. WWhere is concern from International Community?
lynne ,   austin, texas   (08.31.06)
Where is the concern in the international community for the lives of the three kidnapped Israeli soldiers? Where is the moral outrage that the suicide bombings targeting Israeli citizens must stop? Where is the condemnation of Hamas' refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue and overtures for peace? "We will destroy Israel" is NOT meaningful. The anti-semitic, anti-Israel bias is too clear. Boycott the products of those countries that are unfriendly to Israel.
11. Good, it's like killing two birds with one stone.
Jeremiah ,   Israel, Jewish Land   (08.31.06)
Quit complaining you bunch of hippies and take a bath.
12. Pakistan used cluster bombs on Balochistan few days ago
KMR ,   Middle East   (08.31.06)
Where are these "Anti-minefield international activists"?
13. Stop whining: Geneva conventions not applicable!
Bernard Ross ,   St. Anns Bay Jamaica   (08.31.06)
None of the Geneva conventions are legally applicable to a country which operates as a terrorist entity. Lebanon, who allows terrorist groups to participate in government and to commit terrorist acts from Lebanese soil can not then have recourse to Geneva. Israel should demonstrate to terrorist supporting populations Geneva's non-applicability, as Geneva only applies to nations who uphold its tenets. Ron Arad alone should have ceased the conventions. In law one breached clause can breach an entire agreement.
14. Both US and NATO use cluster bombs
Robins ,   UK   (08.31.06)
The US has used cluster bombs in both Gulf wars and NATO, including the UK, used them in Kosovo in 1999. Somehow, only Israel gets public condemnation.
15. CLUSTER THIS!
WILBUR ,   CANTON USA   (08.31.06)
SUICIDE BOMBERS ARE REALLY HOMICIDE BOMBERS THE KILL INNOCENT CIVILIANS...WAR KILLS...WHEN ATTACKED ISRAEL HAS THE RIGHT TO RESPOND TO FINISH THE ATTACKS...WHY NOT FLAMETHROWERS FOR HEZBOLLAH BUNKERS? NAPALM THE AREA WHERE THE COMMAND CENTERS EXIST?!! THE ONLY MESSAGE NEEDED: ATTACK THEN DIE!
16. USA MUST STAY THE COURSE / ISRAEL MUST RETREAT ?
DACON9   (08.31.06)
17. No banning untill world finishes turning on Israel.
(08.31.06)
18. Intl community has doubts that clusters risked the kidnapped
(08.31.06)
19. #9 Marhabtein
Rustum ,   London, UK   (08.31.06)
Are you not shocked, as I am, at the string of people here not only refusing to acknowledge that unexploded cluster bombs are a violation of international law and immoral, but calling for further bombing, napalming, etc. I can only say that the chorus of posters here is like a bunch of brainless chickens, except that they are much more dangerous. Jewish law, as far as I understand it, does not condone the killing of innocents - only Zionist practise does. I wonder how they would feel had the Lebanese army peppered all of northern Israel with unexploded ordinance. However, I forgot, the knee-jerk morons who post here do not consider non-Jewish life the equivalent of Jewish life - and there's the nub of the problem - officially sanctioned and legislated inequality as well as a population that behaves like a blood-thirsty mob with no regard for anything but their own settler-state ghetto.
20. cluster bombs
izaak ,   melbourne   (08.31.06)
if its true its a disgrace to jewry . but lets face it the whole region is in general terms a disgrace to humanity
21. people, what's the matter with you?
eugenie ,   jerusalem   (08.31.06)
UN double standards (or treason?)on a legitimate UN-member state: www.theweeklystandard.com What did you do in the war, UNIFIL? You broadcast Israeli troop movements. by Lori Lowenthal Marcus 09/04/2006, DURING THE RECENT month-long war between Hezbollah and Israel, U.N. "peacekeeping" forces made a startling contribution: They openly published daily real-time intelligence, of obvious usefulness to Hezbollah, on the location, equipment, and force structure of Israeli troops in Lebanon. UNIFIL--the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, a nearly 2,000-man blue-helmet contingent that has been present on the Lebanon-Israel border since 1978--is officially neutral. Yet, throughout the recent war, it posted on its website for all to see precise information about the movements of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and the nature of their weaponry and materiel, even specifying the placement of IDF safety structures within hours of their construction. New information was sometimes only 30 minutes old when it was posted, and never more than 24 hours old... Meanwhile, UNIFIL posted not a single item of specific intelligence regarding Hezbollah forces... http://www.theweeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/012/622bqwjn.asp
22. ban claster bombs= less civilians casualities
mo ,   montreal,Qc   (08.31.06)
this is a disaster for IDF policy
23. #20 - disgrace and shame
Geno ,   St. Louis, USA   (08.31.06)
Izaak, I heard a talk last night from a former terrorist. This man was the grandson of one of the Muftis. He indicated that Israel has two choices: 1. Fight. 2. Be ashamed that they didn't have the courage or will to defend themselves. If they choose # 2, the former terrorist inicated that the result will be that they still will have to fight - AND be ashamed that they waited. I encourage you to attend a speech by Walid Shoebat - now a converted Christian who lives in fear for his live - apostates are not well loved in Muslim countries. Maybe you will learn to be proud of yourself and Israel someday. There is no shame in living or in self-defence. Anybody who says otherwise is delusional, suicidal or has an agenda to destroy a realible friend of the US. It took WWII and the loss of millions of lives to get rid of Hitler. What makes Kofi think that we can get rid of the new Nazi-like threat with words or appeasement? That is - if he is not a part of the new Nazi-like threat. Geno
24. #9, by your argument U.S. and GB were equal to Nazi Germany
AK   (08.31.06)
truly idiotic reasoning.
25. #12, they're still protesting Israel's bombing of ambulances
AK   (08.31.06)
Israel did't really bomb ambulances and the pictures are fakes? The UN, the Independent the "peace activists" and the rest of that gang couldn't care less about the truth.
26. Cluster Bombs
Khaled Almalki ,   London, UK   (08.31.06)
Any trgeting of civilians is wrong including suicide bombers and cluster bombs. Two wrongs doesn't make it right. Stop the blaming game and take responsibility for your own actions. I'm an Arab and will never condone suicide bombings of Isreli civilins.
27. Cluster Munitions
Steve ,   Fort Worth, TX USA   (08.31.06)
Sounds like Israel need to upgrade to the latest version. The newer version automatically detroys itself and hopefully and enemy combatant in the process!
28. #20 "disgrace to jewry"? what an idiotic statement
AK   (08.31.06)
Israel fights a war, unfortunately not brutally enough to win. Wars are not games. By your rules, the would still be fighting WWII, and guess how many more would have died. If Israel were allowed to win any of the wars forced to fight, the lives of thousands on both sides would have been saved.
29. And not one word about banning terrorism
Arie ,   Afula   (08.31.06)
