1. This aircraft design is old. They have a stealth design alre
Russel ,   Tlv   (09.06.06)
All the technology, including the stealth capabilites, was sold to Iran by Russia - the lissing spoke in the "Axis of Evil".
2. IMPORTED/LOCAL TECHNOLOGY
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.06.06)
Irrespective of where the technology came from,Iran is making progress in the manufacturing of sophisticated arms. How many countries in the world have done EVERYTHING independently?
3. Is it a Bird? or a plane
John ,   NZ   (09.06.06)
4. Iran spend all its oil revenue on
John ,   NZ   (09.06.06)
weapons of destruction @ the expense of its people's welfare. They hired top Soviet scientists, no wonder Russia is obliged to support them. What they are doing is self-destruction and dragging the whole world into it.
5. LOL! if its Iranian it probably came with cheap vinyl seats
Khatami ,   persepolis   (09.06.06)
6. Plane meant for peaceful purposes to generate electricity!
Alan ,   SA   (09.06.06)
7. Let's see it take on the F-22
Sean ,   Israel   (09.06.06)
8. Reply to Mahmood - 2.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (09.06.06)
Since Iran didn't do this by itself how can you make such a ridiculous statement? The technology was someone else's so your word " everything " doesn't apply. By the way if you are Sunni what happens to you when the Shia's take over the world since to them and vice versa you are infidels too?
9. Good luck to Iran.
Kiumars ,   London   (09.06.06)
What I don’t understand is why some people think Iran bought the technology from Russia? Iran has a 70 million population most of them young and highly educated! Also let’s not forget that their ancestors were the masters of Science and technology in the past so it is in their blood. Iranians must arm themselves to teeth to fight with their enemies. Good luck to them.
10. To 2 the answer is simple
(09.06.06)
Israel Pretty much most of it's technology in use today was developed independently. And before you state 'BuT wHat abOUt the F-16" Go look up the Lavi. The real reason why pretty much the entirety of the IDF's arsenal isn't Israeli weapons is because of economics.
11. POISED TO TAKE IRAQ WHEN AMERICA LEAVES
andrew ,   Miami,fl   (09.06.06)
12. And What Does Israel Manufacture? Mongoloid Olmerts, LOL
Maxine Higgins ,   San Angelo, USA   (09.06.06)
There's nothing funnier than Olmert's big ears and Peretz' Saddam mustache. You laughed at Hizbullah too, why look at you now. Keep laughin'. And if Iran is so funny, how come Israelis announce everyday, "existential this and existential that? Here's what Israelis have been warning about lately: Iran, Iran, Iran, Iran, Iran, Iran... Please, please, please USA, look, look, Iran, Iran is gonna "wipe us out", "existential, existential", help us, please help us, "attack, attack, attack because Israel can't do shit. Seems to outside observer, the only current joke IS ISRAEL.
13. Do not underestimate them. Do not mock them.
Bechor   (09.06.06)
This is no joke. Whether the technology is Iranian or Russian is irrelevant. Let me remind you all that Israeli planes are all American. If they can begin to mass-produce these then Israel is at risk of losing her only advantage - the airforce.
14. ANSWER TO #5
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.06.06)
Are you one of the remnants of late Shah? If you are I am not surprised to read your talk-back.Else, you decided to use this name just to stir up the readers.Hatred will take you nowwhere, whoever you are.Iran has many surprises for the world. So keep reading.
15. There is nothing to Underestimate
Snir ,   NYC   (09.06.06)
Israel has the largest and Strongest Airforce in the middle east. Israel has wiped out every airforce which has went up against it. The Syrian Airforce was destroyed in 2 days during the Lebanon war in 1982. Also Israel has the most advanced planes in the world. Not to mention some of the best pilots in the worlds. This doesnt change the rules of the game in anyway the Iranians have always have an Airforce but it will never match the IAF
16. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE LAVI FIGHTER JET?

17. but does it actually perform? not much of a chance at all
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (09.06.06)
most military technology builds on actual battle experience of existing weaponry. theory is put to the test, rather than empty boasts. i'd like to see iran's airforce up against older generation american, israeli, european, or russian fighters. let me guess how it would do...
18. Only losers will rely solely on airforce
Zico ,   Brazil   (09.06.06)
The doctrine that uses solely air power will only work on conventional war between the two large and powerful armed forces. Many have learned through vietnam war (although saddam didnt), that small low intensity warfare could bring down large armies down. Learn more about this from soviet in the afghanistan, americans today in Iraq and the latest one israel against hezbollah.
19. Israeli Lies
Andy ,   London   (09.06.06)
During the Lebanon war, everything that Hezbollah fired at Israel was made in Iran as alledged by your three stooges (Peretz, Olmert and Halutz). Now that Iran is showing what it has, they are made somewhere else. I thought you guys had the best Intelligence service in the world! Doesn't seem that way anymore.
20. to # 9, kiumars
david ,   herzlia ,israel   (09.06.06)
what enemies????, instead of spending the billions of $ in oil revenue on war equipment .... spend the money in helping the poor in the middle east...there are many and they will be more than happy to get your money and not your bombs. why do you always talk about war sitting in london and passing wind.....
21. Iran's fighter jet
Arad Kaye ,   Canada   (09.06.06)
Reverse engineering F18 is not a trivial task. It is impressive that Iran can build an advanced fighter jet.. Iranian made Anti tank missiles and land to sea missiles are proven to be very effective against Israel tanks and navy ships in recent Lebanon-Israel war. There is no reason to believe Iran's Fighter jet will not perform in battle. Israel should not under estimate its opponent.
22. The path of new horrors
Dr D ,   Jerusalem   (09.06.06)
In order to verify the improved Iranian military capability a war is needed again. As Hitler during the Civil War in Spain the Professor in Teheran got , with the stunning victory in Lebanon, a good motivation to try his chance further. But suppose nobody will provoke Iran and a war will never come, are the Iranians going to eat all those sophisticated missiles and plane? The Iranians don't have any substantial food reserve and a war will quickly bring their 70.000.000 to starvation and most probably the army to surrender. One think is ideology and one thing is logistic. The Iranian's aspirations will end in another horror with or without a war. DR D
23. Israeli Complexes
Andy ,   London   (09.06.06)
Why is Israel so hung up on who produced the technology? Is it because they cannot believe that there is someone in the region to contend with? Israel's advantage was the american made F-16, I wonder if it is a match for the Iranian model. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the US will save you guys and try to attack Iran. Who cares if this plane is Iranian made, or soviet or whatever? What have the Israelis made? Oh yes, the Mircava tank, which became the moving tomb for the IDF! Good luck Israel, your policies of hatred and bullying attitudes have got you here and your big sister the US may not help you this time.
24. Sean # 7
Uncle Sam ,   US of A   (09.06.06)
"Let's see it take on the F-22" - Sean Yesiree, isn't my country's superior technology a marvel? Better hope your little country toes the line, Sean, or else we'll cut you off.
25. UNIFIL & NASHRALLA - MUST READ
(09.06.06)
UNIFIL – Hezbollah's Secret Intelligence Service Throughout the month-long conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, UNIFIL's website served as Hassan Nasrallah's personal intelligence services. All he needed to do was log on to UNIFIL's official website to find daily, real time intelligence about the location, equipment, and force structure of Israeli troops in Lebanon. UNFIL posted precise information about the movements of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and the nature of their weaponry and materiel, even specifying the placement of IDF safety structures within hours of their construction. New information was sometimes only 30 minutes old when it was posted, and never more than 24 hours old. At the same time, not a single item of intelligence regarding Hezbollah's forces made it to UNIFIL's website, in case Israel might be checking in. The Weekly Standard reported that a review of every single UNIFIL web posting showed that, “while UNIFIL was daily revealing the towns where Israeli soldiers were located, the positions from which they were firing, and when and how they had entered Lebanese territory, it never described Hezbollah movements or locations with any specificity whatsoever.” The Standard provided an example, posted July 25: “Yesterday and during last night, the IDF moved significant reinforcements, including a number of tanks, armored personnel carriers, bulldozers and infantry, to the area of Marun Al Ras inside Lebanese territory. The IDF advanced from that area north toward Bint Jubayl, and south towards Yarun.” The previous day, UNIFIL revealed that the IDF stationed between Marun Al Ras and Bint Jubayl were "significantly reinforced during the night and this morning with a number of tanks and armored personnel carriers." When reporting on Hezbollah, the UNFIL website spoke in vague generalities, saying only that Hezbollah fired “rockets in large numbers from various locations.” Analysts from both the United States and Israel agreed the UNIFIL intel was of significant value to Hezbollah and exposed 'Israeli forces to grave danger' while obscuring intelligence about Hezbollah that would have aided the Israelis. ================= http://www.hallindseyoracle.com/articles.asp?ArticleID=13321

28. israel jets
jerome ,   basalt, co   (09.06.06)
The F-16and F-15 jets from the U.S. are practically gutted by Israel and fitted with Israel technologies and electronics. Irans airforce would get wipe off the face of the earth if it tangled with the Israelis.
29. Where would you like to start Maxine Higgins?
Mike ,   Israel   (09.06.06)
One of the Leading High Tech development countrys in the world, most computer systems in the world use atleast 1 element that has been invented in Israel, leading medical developments. You say we "laughed at Hizbullah" yes please look at them now look around them under them look every where and learn never again to take us on. Oh and please keep thinking Israel "is a joke" that can only be good for us.

and pet projects and institutions of the various political parties here. We need to rebuild and retrain the army.We need new weapons and weapon systems. We need to stock more ordinance, fuel and spare parts. Our soldiers need boots and protective gear. The enemy is moving ahead and we are falling behind. We should invest in r & d to stay ahead.
