So this al means that no objectives were achieved and thus in fact Israel lost the war. Make peace with your enemies and do let The US tell you what to do.

In fact, Israel lost because they've listened to the dictates of the US. In view of the "great successes" achieved by the US on the war in terror and spreading of democracy all over the Middle East, Israel would've done much better not to listen to the US and choose their own course.
3. All generals appointed by Sharon must be dismissed
Jim ,   Chicago   (09.06.06)
They, Sharon and Weisglass guys, should be removed at once. These are corrupt people.

The IDF did not achieve anything , The kidnapped soldiers are not back, Hezbula is arrogant as ever, The UN is dictading to Israel on what to do. The four stooges " Olmert, Peretz, Halutz, and Peres" are still blowing hot air . This time Israel lost BIG .While the US gave Israel a carte blanche. The four stooges were more concerned with their investments in the stock market.and not over the life of their citizens. I am sick to my stomach It is no longer the IDF I served 1967

ahhh the game of war...time to throw out last year's playbook. the X's and O's of a generation ago do not apply any longer. i reiterate that as much as israel lost a couple of toes wading in the war waters, it was a tradeoff for current intelligence information. when you are caught by surprise because youve underestimated your enemy, there will be finger pointing and blame to go around. nevertheless, the intelligence obtained will help to rewrite the playbook so that it is based on current information.

8. Should have done something before???
stude ham ,   outremont, canada   (09.06.06)
They year before the disaster they should have done something... like they even knew this was gonna be happening??? like they knew how many idiots would wind up running the government??? like the voters knew what idiots they were electing to office??? like anyone knew last year that kadima was the opium of idiocy???? let israel get real!
9. ISRAEL LOST? BECAUSE
BORUCH N HOFFINGER ,   BROOKLYN NY   (09.06.06)
B"H If you gauge success by your objectives, then Israel partially won & partially lost. Had they followed Torah dictates, and been more concerned with Jews than non-Jews, they would have used Daisy Cutter bombs, blowing much of Hizbollah into Virginville and then a massive ground force would have had more security. This is the sickness of assimilation!
10. Just work out the Kinks IDF
(09.06.06)
Solve the problem of communication. Get a solid warplan for the same conditions. Don't focus too hard, because the next faze of the war will have different suprises in store as well. The biggest problem is armour, it must be fabricated differanty.

You are back to square One . You are forced to negociate with Hizballa for the release of the 2 soldiers!! You destroyed a country and killed many innocent children and women , what for ??? what did you achieve?? You are more hated now everywhere thanks to your arrogant stupid leaders who follow Bush like dogs. The postive thing about this war is that we Arabs are more united than before ..... thank you and hard luck

Why don't you move to the Antarctic? Then you won't have to worry about assimilation.

17. WW II Barrage Balloons
Gary ,   Belmont, CA,USA   (09.07.06)
No. 7 repeats the same idea I suggested earlier. Try an update of WW II Barrage Balloons with synthetic netting slung beneath. Data on the Katyusa tragectories have been collected. Try the balloons first to stop the smaller Gaza Qassams. Good website on the WW II Barage Balloons via Google search. Balloons were used up to 10,000 feet.
18. ISRAEL, A STATE OF DENIAL?
Knave Dave   (09.07.06)
While Olmrat is truly a dispicable person in many respects, Israel is looking for a scapegoat. The hard fact is that Israel has not won a war since 1973. That's more than a generation. Let's break through the denial and recognize there is nothing odd about this war: Israel pulled out of Lebanon because it was a hopeless quagmire going nowhere. Israel didn't win anything with the first intifada. Israel lost the second intifada and GAVE UP GAZA. (You can be sure that was not Sharon's plan when he marched on the Temple Mount and deliberately ignited the intifada, but that's where his administration ended.) Israel lost the second Lebanon war where its objectives were to get its prisoners back without negotiation (it's now facing negotiation) and to end the Hezbullah threat, which is probably going to be worse in a year than it's ever been. Israel also lost the recent war in Gaza in that it stated its objectives were to get back its prisoner without negotiating with terrorists, and it is negotiating with terrorists even as you read this. And Israel lost all of these being far better supplied with weapons and far better trained.
