Both of Olmert's wars are ending in defeat -- ALL stated objectives for the wars AND PROMISES lost. Moreover, it looks like the wars have worsened the situation. Now "Shalit has become a 'bargaining chip' in terms of the NUCLEAR ISSUE [WITH IRAN] and therefore it is still unclear when the deal will be implemented." It looks like it would be wise to reconsider wars as the first response to minor attacks by Israel's enemies. What gain has Israel made in the last thirty years?
