1. Throw This Clown Out
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (09.11.06)
before it's too late. Livni would give the entire country away if it would be a victory for "diplomacy". She's a mental midget. Remove here before it's too late.
2. You want a state within a state like Lebanon?
Steve ,   USA   (09.11.06)
B"H Hizbullah took control of Lebanon to fire at Israel because it had the two state solution in its country. And you want THAT solution for your country? Do you really think that the international occupation of Lebanon is a long-term solution? Do you want that for Israel? Why is it that you can see so clearly how destructive Hisbullah has been for Lebanon because of its violent attacks on Israel, but you cannot see the same thing when terrorists from that territory attacks Egypt? There have been several terror attacks on Egypt. You need the terror nest removed to prevent Israel and Egypt from going to war like Israel and Lebanon did over the Lebanon terror nest that went balistic.
3. Israel's Judas Goat heads to Washington to sell us out
Avi ,   Ashdod   (09.11.06)
Kadima gave us Gaza, thousands of Jewish families ethnically cleansed out of their homes and businesses, a fiasco of a war in Lebanon, a blown national budget. Now Olmert sends Livni to give away more of Israel and sell out Israel's Jews to save his political rear end.
4. so basically she, and kadima, have no clue...
aaron ,   ra'anana   (09.11.06)
"We can't pick and choose the problems according to the realistic possibility to implement a solution for them" i.e. 'we have no solutions to these problems'
5. Zionist Bubba Mayses
Dovy ,   Toronto   (09.11.06)
It's always the same recycled garbage --- talking in broad generalities and abstractions, while saying, "No withdrawal to 1967 ceasefire lines, no return of refugees..." That's the bottom line, the refugees, since all land conquered from 1948 on after partition are occupied territory under international law, which is why countries have their embassies in Tel Aviv. Back to partition lines and a plebiscite which will reject the non-binding recommendation of 1947 for partition. Everything else is mere commentary........
6. Livni, Foreign Affairs Intern, go back to practicing law.
malcolm   (09.11.06)
7. Throw these Idiots OUT NOW
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (09.11.06)
These screwups have got to be pushed out of office and a stronger goverment elected in. This is a idiotic idea one that has been tried and failed many time. How many people can say "OSLO" Been there done that. Thus EU Controlled goverment has got to leave.
8. Cancel Palestine 2..Jordan is it for Arabs
David ,   Boston, USA   (09.11.06)
You really need to stop beating a dead horse and start promoting the truth and the inevitable. Jordan is the ONLY Arab Palestine that will ever exist. Its over 80% of "historic" Palestine. Its time to end the experiment of the PA and have the Arab Palestinians start looking towards Amman for government. Granted, the borders will change a little, but there is no reason to create another Arab Palestinian state.
9. 1 Agreed, what a total dunce.
freedom ,   canada   (09.11.06)
10. 8 Likely a very logical thought.
freedom ,   canada   (09.11.06)
Why does everyone assume that most of the west bank goes to a so called palestinian state. It is Jewish by historical standards> Any UN resolution is meaningless, past and present in generality. There should be international arbitrauers that take into consideration historical facts, and palestinians and jews should be moved from their various regions. Obviously, they can not get along. Sad but true.
11. Tzippileh Is Willfully Ignorant
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.11.06)
Livni should be the first from the regime to give up her cushy home so that the PA Arabs can benefit from her stupidity. In order to gain favor with the Euros, Kofi and with other left wing 'elites' in Israel she has not only prostrated herself, but proposes existential dangers for Israel. What a gal! How can she NOT realize that there is NO room for two states on Israel's miniscule land? What more would she like to give up to 'satisfy' the Euros et al? The Islamists keep repeating ad nauseum, but the addled Jews in charge in Israel refuse to listen. Their fight is NOT about land, it is about religion and their need to destroy the Jewish state from the Middle East. How exactly does she propose that two states will solve this genocidal problem? Earth to Tzippileh - you have been hanging out with Kofi and the Euros too long. They want Israel back to the armistice line in order to appease the Muslims. Is she willing to go along with this treachery?
12. More meaningless words
M Fruchtman ,   New York, USA   (09.11.06)
This government - Olmert, Peretz, Livni - have clearly taken to the idea that people will believe what they say even though they won't back it up with actions. They never met a line they wouldn't cross. Why should anyone believe them?
13. Livni is a genius, World leaders are Qvelling!
Scott Neuman ,   Okemos, MI   (09.11.06)
What a great idea. An idea for the ages. She would make the world very happy if Israel adopts her policy. Nasrallah is on board. The leaders of Hamas are in agreement. Abas, the Holocaust denier is in full accord. I'm sure if Arafat was alive he would be proud. Even better, I'm sure if Hitler was alive he would be qvelling. He would be thinking, Judenrat, not necessary, gas chambers not necessary, just let the Jewish leaders lead their people to destruction. Seriously, when will the Israeli people stand up and say we will not be led down the road to oblivion, not by the U.N., not by the E.U. , not by the U.S., and never by our own leaders.
14. No agreement necessary, Liquidate terrorists instead!
Bernard Ross ,   St. Anns Bay Jamaica   (09.11.06)
15. "One of our demands that is not negotiable"
BJL ,   Appleland USA   (09.11.06)
And what have the Arabs learned since Oslo? Since the 2000 Intifada? Since the Lebanon "war"? Everything with Israel is negotiable. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is precious.
16. Maybe peace now's solution, Jews in the sea, arabs on land.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica,CA USA   (09.11.06)
17. Peace with Palis?
Rick S. ,   L.A.   (09.11.06)
When will the idiots in the gov't learn that Hamas is being honest about it's intentions? It's Abbas who is full of crap and not to be trusted.
18. Survivor testimony
Soldier's Relative ,   US, Los Angeles   (09.11.06)
"I am writing through tears. I wept when I saw the photo of the ruined village of al-Sanbariyya because it was my former brother-in-law who helped destroy the village and the lives of those who lived there. My now deceased brother-in-law was born in Los Angeles and after World War II decided he wanted to live in Palestine. He met his wife-to-be at a training camp somewhere in the midwest. While at the camp many of the people decided they wanted to build a kibbutz in then Palestine. I am not sure that they gave a thought to the fact that they would be taking the lands of others. But then, I don't know. I wasn't there. My brother-in-law went to Palestine on a ship smuggling refugees into the country when the ship was stopped by the British. He jumped ship and swam to shore and soon he met up with the other Americans. They received weapons, probably from the Haganah, and went to the northern part of Palestine to begin the ethnic cleansing of the land so that they could build kibbutz Maayan Baruch. It was a few years later that I met my brother-in-law when he and his wife came to Los Angeles for my marriage to his younger brother. I will never forget how he laughed as he described the frightened villagers fleeing their homes as they left their shoes by the door and their pots on the stove. Later, in an internet search, I found out that the village had been called al-Sanbariyya and had been home to 130 families. His story bothered me but I was young and caught up in the story of Israel. It was only after the 1967 war that I started having doubts and as I read more and more history of Israel/Palestine, not always easy to come by, I discovered the incredible injustices that had been done to the Palestinian people, injustices that continue to this day. As a Jew who was raised to believe in justice for all peoples, I believe that it is my obligation to speak out about Israel and to try in whatever way possible to bring about a better life in Palestine for the people who belong there... The people who were so cruelly evicted from their lands. Name of author withheld
19. OLMERT AND LIVNI TRAITORS !!!!
(09.11.06)
20. This is meant as a distraction....
Gedaliah ,   Gush   (09.11.06)
Any politician knoes that when things are going very wrong, do something very dramatic. Is this strange to anyone? We lose in Lebanon, the government runs from an enquiry and now the smoke and mirrors come up with this talk with the PA. Who are they kidding. The problem is is that we are so stupid sometimes and most of the Israelis will go along with it. DONT BE FOOLED BY SMOKE AND MIRRORS!!!! Blair comes and all of a sudden our policy changes. What is this appeasment for? Blair is out in a year and is trying to make a legacy for himself. It wont work. ONLY SOLUTION: Disangage all Arabs (including MK's) from the LAnd that has been known as Israel for thousands of years.
21. One state only
Micha ,   jerusalem, Israel   (09.11.06)
There should be only one state on the Land of Israel. It should be a Jewish state, but one in which all its peoples are citizens with equal rights. The wall should be pulled down. The Israeli parliament should develop a constitution in which it states that the State of Israel is a Jewish state, and that there must be a 2/3 Jewish majority in the government. All the peoples who live here should have full and equal rights and be allowed to live wherever they want to in the Land. The fact that in time there would be more Arabs living here should be no big deal as long as everyone lives as responsible citizens. Having a constitution which enshrines the Jewishness of the state may be seen as undemocratic, however, in the U.K. the head of state (Queen or King) is an inherited position and in the U.S. the President must be born in that country. Let us move forward and stop thinking in divisive terms. Let us have one land for all of the peoples who dwell here, however the Jewish sovereignty of the Land must be maintained.
22. The only state she lives in
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.11.06)
is state of confusion.Let her shut up and start packing to leave office.
23. to #18, Soldier's Relative
(09.11.06)
Prior to the re-establishment of Israel in 1948, the land in Palestine was legally purchased by Jewish National Fund, but Jews were constantly attacked by Arabs and their militias, starting from the 1900's, and there were several pogroms when hundreds of jews were killed. If the Arabs have accepted the Jewish state from the beginning, as directed by UN, there would be no refugees that are to this day (!) REFUSED citizenship in every Arab country except Jordan. There was almost a MILLION JEWS EXPELLED from Arab countries after the re-establishment of Isral, but you don't hear about that, because no one setup refugee camps for them because they were denied citizenship rights -- they live in Israel now with full rights! So stop telling sad stories created by Arabs.
24. Livni: Strive for phased agreement with PA
Barbara ,   Modiin   (09.11.06)
And I would like to see Livni on unemployment. She is incompetent and doesn't seem to know what to do first. Is there where the taxpayers' money goes to?
25. Micha #21 wants to live in a fool's paradise
LFer ,   Formerly Lebanon   (09.11.06)
Did you learn anything from the example of Lebanon? A once thriving Christian country considered the Paris or Switzerland of the Middle East? The small Muslim community in the country bred like rabbits and we saw the result-15 years of civil war and now they have a proxy army hoping for the day Lebanon becomes an Islamic Republic. Do you with the same for Israel?
26. Another war is coming ........
zvi ,   los angeles USA   (09.11.06)
Instead of talking about the nonexistent prospect of an agreement with the Hamas led enemy Livni should concern herself with the looming need to stop Iran from gaining an atomic bomb Israel needs a new PM, FM, DM and Chief of Staff But it's politics instead. Too bad. May Israel survive its leaders!
