This article, coupled with the smile on that typically gorgeous Israeli reservist's face (in the accompanying photo), brought pride to me for being from a place that actually does something to help.
Hopefully the amount each individual gets will be enough to make a difference...unlike, for example, class action lawsuit claims' settlements in THIS country!

One must hope that a small portion of the money actually gets to the students... keep in mind what is being done to the Ethiopians, and how little of US donations actually get to the intended victims... after the government-employed histadrutniks and the fundraisers take their cuts.
