The great "religion of peace" threatens war and violence everytime someone says anything about it. Look, it's coming to a clash of civilizations. Right now, the west could win. 10 years from now it will be different. I say let's get it over with while we can still survive. Unless all 3 rabid and hate-filled Abrahamic religions suddenly disappear, we're destined for a world wide war. In fact WW3 probably started in 1948 with the birth of Israel. If we don't have the guts to take them out, they WILL take us out. Wherever Islam goes, bombs and death soon follow. Just like Christianity and Judiasm.

Why are Mulims so touchy about everything. Sounds like a massive case of inferiority complex. What I am having a hard time understanding is the sheepish mentality of the (seemingly) average middle-easterner. Whatever a cleric says seems to be the RULE and follow blindly, the weirder the more "true" it must be. Do everyone a favor and grow some skin before we end up burning the planet down.

Many consider atheism to be a form of religion. You are calling for the death of many people yourself. It is another debate as to whether or not some should behave capital punishment applied for crimes. Logically you are calling the kettle black and have placed yourself at the same level as the fanatics you deride. Perhaps you should think more clearly before you post.

number 5; athiest. good point. i highly agree. it's a sad day when we realize that 99% of the world's population are living a fanatical reality, not being able to discern true from false. *laugh* number 9; ben. islamic leaders do not owe an apology. again, this is our problem today. we're pointing our finger at an entire ethnic group of people because of a few peoples' actions. sounds kind of like the nazi-jew thing. and try investigating a little bit, you'll find more truth away from islam and more towards your government and treason than any where else. but i guess, the government did play a script pretty well and that 9/11 thing is embedded in your head. just remember, 7 of the 19 alleged hijackers are still alive today. too bad they walked away from the airplane crashes. :( until next time, enjoy.

As a practicing, obedient Roman Catholic, I am so grateful that the Holy Father has said what few--if any--other world leaders have had the courage to say. It amazes me how so many Muslims turn a blind eye when their clerics advocate killing us "infidels," but have a non-Muslim say anything approaching the truth about Islam--and how it spread throughout history by forced conversions--and...whoa...they just won't have any of that. The truth hurts, doesn't it??? Make no mistake, radical Islamists do not want "dialogue"--they want to dominate the world and kill any of us who do not share their beliefs. Pope Benedict XVI has NOTHING to apologize for!!

So let me get this straight, you have a religion (Islam) from which all we hear is threats to kill Christians and Jews, a religion (Islam) that threatens to kill anyone (salmon rushdie) that disagrees with their pathetic kill everyone attitude and they get offended that someone calls them violent religion. Are these people educated or brainwashed. The article says somehting along the lines of Islam forbids harming humans and later goes to quote some knuckleheads that call Hezbollah heros. Newsflash to all the IMANS or IMAMS or whatever, we're not as gullible in the "west" as the people you have been keeping under foot in the name of islam.

Yes, Yes, and Yes! They whine about a quote the Pope made about "evil and inhuman" ways in their religion. They find this very offensive that they are depicted as babarians. How do they respond to this? They burn churches! I never gave any thought about Muslims until this conflict in the Middle East started. Now that they have become an every day event in our news I do believe they are barbarians. What "God" wants you to go around murdering people? They use this excuse for their actions. If God wants one person, an entire nation, or the whole world dead, he's quite capeable of doing it himself and doesn't need a bunch of piss ants to do his work for him. The bottom line is they like living like animals.

It is fascinating to watch the Islamic world become apoplectic over a truthful statement made by a Christian leader and yet murder converts from Islam to Christianity. The proof of the Pope's quote is in the actions of the Islamic world not their rhetoric. The West must have the courage to speak strongly in spite of the threats.

It proves one more time that pope is wright. You can not discuss things that hurt you. The truth hurts does't it? And we do not need your land. If you want to sell somethng (as oil ) we buy it. But wait what will happened when we will not need the oil. I pray for that day and it is close. Be civilized. Discuss. Admit when it is wrong. Prove if it is wrong. Pope did not threaten nobody. And by the way I am not borh in USA, i immigrated here. And i can tell you that it is a great country. Of course nothing is perfect, but this model and believe in this country is going to work. There is nothing that would soothe the offended "feelings" of the moslem mob short of a voluntary conversion to islam by the Pope of the Roman Catholic church. The Pope made some very well considered remarks indicating his position. G-d bless him. John Paul issued apologies for imaginary offences which reinforced the Muslim's sense of victimhood. While the Pope is in Turkey will he insist that the Cathedral of St. Sofia be returned to it's rightful owner, the Roman Catholic Church?
