31. Mark, USA (19): smaller is better? Proof required.
sk ,   USA   (09.21.06)
OK, Mark, stop repeating yourself. You say in your title, "a smaller Israel is better" and then say "a smaller Israel at peace is the way to go." So: ---> Please provide evidence that (1) making Israel smaller (territorial contraction) will lead to peace; (2) that the peace of a smaller Israel will provide net benefits in comparison to a non-peaceful larger Israel; and (3) that the peace will last for, say, 20 years or more. Note: Rhetorical "proofs" involving catchphrases will not suffice. Your evidence should be measurable. If you cannot provide such evidence, just shut up, will you? If you feel you can, and claim to provide it, I will respond. We will argue the points and allow other Talkbackers to decide which of us is more persuasive. Fair enough?

Yes, these tiny little farms are historically Syrian. However, Syria is claiming that they are Lebanese! Why? Take a wild guess! a) Because Syria is Protecting Lebanese Sovreignty and only wants what is best for Lebanon b) To justify Hizbollah's continued military assault of Israel, thus maintaining Syria's stronghold on Lebanon. Wild card! Some people call it a hellish plot. Who said the devil is not smart! Hint: B is correct. To some of the less enlightened American and Israeli commentators, not all Lebanon is Muslim or even Arab! To the Israeli commentators, I agree if there should be a withdrawal, there needs to be a full bilateral peace agreement. However, Israeli politicians think that they are better than most Arabs to engage them in a peace accord. Sure many of you think that to be true. I am not here to change the minds of hateful racists. Israel is not necessarily getting smaller. After a peace agreement with the arab world, Israelis should be free to live anywhere in the Middle East as far as I am concerned.
