For anyone who has bothered to actually listen to the man, he has always said that he wants REGIME CHANGE in Israel...not the removal of Israel. He gets asked about that and his comments on the Holocaust in every single interview he does, and each time he clarifies what his point is, but then the media goes and prints whatever they want. Ask him yourself what he really said and he'll tell you again. He doesn't claim the Holocaust didn't happen. He says it didn't happen the way the "official" story represents it , ie: that 6,000,000 Jews were gassed. If regime change is such a dirty phrase, then why are all these people advocating regime change in many arab countries? He sounds like a pretty rational guy--much more so than the average Israeli or American leader who seek power from spreading fear and constantly talk about killing others.

ALL of these goodwill gestures have been refused by the Muslim countries concerned. Israel, and the Jewish community worldwide, have never once turned down the open hand of friendship, when any Muslim leader has sincerely offered it. Not once. The truth is that many Muslim governments and organizations persist in teaching you (and, much worse, your uncynical children) that "the Jews" are "an evil force attempting to subjugate the Muslims" -- whereas in fact, Jews are simply people; Jewish culture is fundamentally not oriented around conquest or war; and Israelis have always asked simply not to be attacked by their neighbors. When neighbors have shown that they can provide quiet borders, Israel has reciprocated with friendship. It's tragic: all that passionate, bloodthirsty hatred on one side, for a people who, with a very few exceptions, would much rather relate to you as friends and equals. Last thought: how many times have you seen Jews rallying and screaming "death to Iran? Death to Saudi! Death to Muslims!" Have you EVER seen that? Of course not. But you have probably seen lots and lots of rallies where Muslim groups are yelling "Death to Israel!" and calling the Jews pigs and monkeys -- despite the fact that neither Iran nor KSA has ever been attacked by Israel. You may have forgotten what was going on before he started the Holocaust denial stuff and the wipe-Israel-off-the-map stuff: the Israelis had withdrawn from Gaza, Pakistan and others were talking to Jews and Israelis and there were groups in the Muslim world calling for dialog with Jews and Israel. Ahmadinejad's policies have always been meant to rally Muslim extremists, put Muslim moderates on the defensive and drag the region back into the kind of bloodshed and chaos conflict that has since occurred. It does not make sense that Iran would attack Israel with nuclear bombs. They know that if they do this America will attack them. And if America attacks Iran, after they do something like destroy Jerusalem with a nuclear bomb, then all of Iran will be destroyed, and probably much of the surrounding lands of the Middle East. They know that we would destroy all life in Iran. So why would they attack Israel with a nuclear bomb? I can only wonder if American and Israeli Jews do not realize what firepower the U.S. military has. We have enough nuclear bombs to wipe out, well, all life on the planet. I don't know why we are being egged on like this to use them.

Look, I'm not trying to say Ahmadnejad's perfect or without flaws. I'm only trying to correct some of the crazy things people say about him. I'll admit I haven't seen every single thing out there, and I've never seen this "film" that "freedom, canada" was talking about, BUT I have seen half a dozen televised interviews (foreign and domestic) and read at least as many interviews in newspapers and magazines. Maybe he's a lying politician, like the rest of them, but he seems sincere; he seems honest, and more importantly I've NEVER heard him say ANY of the things that get attributed to him--by OTHER people. In fact, he's ALWAYS addressing those very issues and re-stating his position over and over. If he said "death to Israel" I've never seen it--put up the link and I'll watch it. He seems like a very intelligent, articulate, believable person. When compared to total idiots like Bush, or twisted war-mongers like Sharon & Netanyahu , he's like a breath of fresh air.
