I am so sick of these people wining all the time that they are offended. If they have it their way, history will be completely rewritten. In a democracy such as Canada, Christianity and Jesus Christ take hits on a daily basis, as does Judaism. We are the brunt of jokes and criticism in every type of media. Now we are having to walk on tip toes worrying about offending Muslims. Islam needs to learn to shake it off or get a sense of humour or a thicker skin! Muslims in my country were arrested for terrorist plotting against our Prime Minister and to blow up various sites in Toronto. We have Muslims pushing for Sharia Law. In our publicly financed high schools, they can meet for their daily prayers. Christian students have to go off school property to meet for prayer. We are being forced to hide our faith in a public venue while they are being allowed to exhibit theirs. We are now developing a situation in which the rights of those who would like to take away our rights are paramount. I understand that this is not the majority of Muslims in my country but there certainly is an extremely vocal minority. The fact of the matter is that almost every society and religion have historical issues that would be nice to sweep under the carpet. Hopefully most of us learn from these historical issues, atrocities, etc. and move ahead with God's help to be better people. We can't do that until we admit our wrongdoing first. The Pope should not apologize for his quote. Muslims should reread their own history and then show us all what lovely peaceloving, tolerant, accepting individuals they are.

Well spoken, but you left out how they affect political voting, fill our courts with useless human rights violations, take advantage of our social programs, change security laws, as the case of the turban vs. the hardhat, and the rcmp towel guy that wouldn't wear the hat, the sikhs that wear there knives in classrooms. I'm still waiting for the first turban astronaut that won't wear the helmet. I'd like to see him do a spacewalk without his helmet and only his turban, and the downright disrespect of our own traditions and customs, as well as the respect for woman. How can I teach my son to treat woman with respect when muslims in his class give different examples, and what happened to christmas, it's now winter holidays. I want to express my comments in support of the Pope. Why should he apologize to a group of people who cannot stand to hear the truth about the way their religious doctrine and leaders are going.
