Repelling the terrorist attacks that constitute the " Intifada" is not a glorious war for Israel, it is simply a battle that has got to be fought in order to save Israeli lives and society. It's a dirty war pitting Israel against enemies who have literally NO regard for human life - their own or others (be they Israeli or Arab) and will do virtually anything just to kill Israelis.
32. BEST RUBBISH WRITTEN ON YNET SO FAR (END)

Somebody did not do their homework.
34. To the myth guy.
Nidal ,   Nablus, Palestine   (09.26.06)
You are a myth. Palestinians exists and to prove that, Israel says they exists. Israel is fighting them day and night. Unless Israel is fighting ghosts. I have another moto for you to say "My brain does not exists!, USA"
35. response for #15
bobba fett ,   eisham, israel   (09.26.06)
indeed, i can explain why the Palestinians would not have been able to run their state before the establishment of a Palestinian Authority, and even after its establishment. The simple fact is that the local Palestinians and even the Palestinians living abroad, led by PLO Boss Yasser Arafat, were unwilling to run a proper state. The fact is, they preferred to keep fighting, than to bear the responsibilities of statehood, living in peace, side by side with Israel. Had the Palestinians wanted to live in peace, they could, and still can, have achieved statehood very quickly, had they simply stopped inciting hate, teaching their young to hate Jews and Israel, and stopped attacking Israel with terrorism. For all the romantic nostalgia that the leftists of the West wish to assign the swarthy Arab keffiyeh-wrapped 'freedom fighters' of 'Palestine', the sad truth is that Palestinian terrorists launched two largely self-destructive Intifadas against Israel, instead of building their own nation next to Israel. If you need evidence of that, simply look at Gaza today. There are no Israelis there since more than a year. Where are all the science and industry parks of Gaza? Where are the affordable residential buildings which could alleviate the crowded conditions of Gaza City? What nation is being built upon the ashes and ruin of the Jewish Gaza settlements, evacuated by Israel's own will? The sad truth, the history, is that Palestinians destroyed what the Jews left behind, and have replaced it with nothing but empty words of anger, hate, and a bunch of Qassam missiles, all aimed at Israel. With that, Palestinians have cast themselves further down into the abyss of despair. Shame on Palestinian Arabs for their hate. Shaem on them for electing Hamas and Fatah. Shame on them for failing to raise a moderate majority from within their ranks. And shame on non-Palestinians for endorsing Hamas and Fatah, rather than the moderates of Palestine that we keep hearing about, but never see take any brave steps towards achieving true peace and responsible statehood. Of course that was made clear in my initial comment above. Of course someone who did not understand that from my comment, probably should go and read some good history books about the Middle East.
36. SCHEME: The stronger is always the bad one
Nowhere Man ,   Metropolis, Zion   (09.26.06)
Who drew us into fighting ? Who refrains us from really drawing back from 'occupied' territories and getting rid of that responsibility (domination of another people) ? Is a 'victim' always free of any responability (knowing that martyrdom is a highly valued STRATEGY in arab-muslim culture) ? Who uses human (civil) shields ? I am NOT a right-wing guy, but the authors comments are stupidly rigid and short-sighted. We are NOT fighting against Palestinians; Palestinians just consitute a VECTOR for all other enemies in the region; they're just the interface. Look at the Israeli-Arab conflict on the whole regional level, and you will see who is the strong and who is the weak. 'Territory against Peace'... Give me a break. Look at how much land arabs have; then look at our land.
37. to #33 the museum does NOT exist
david ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.26.06)
#33. pity u did not look more closely after googling "vietam museum". the museum exists only virtually....
38. Marlene you suffer from philofascism
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.26.06)
PMR and MEMRI put translations to Arab broadcasts so that non-Arabic speakers can understand just how vile and disgusting the "values" that are being promoted by the PA, Hamas and other Islamofascists. It is reading Mein Kampf in Arabic and it naturally offends you that all that BS about human rights is just used as a cover by some very nasty and dirty people, just like you.
39. annoying censor; to "Nidal"
sk ,   USA   (09.26.06)
Do I have to start emailing customer service because of arbitrary deletions to these talkbacks? Nidal, the concept of "Palestinians" as a separate people was first marketed by Arafat and his cronies a few years before the '67 war. There is now an extensive fake history, sometimes asserting, for example, that "Pals" are really Biblical Philistines or Canaanites. Whether or not the current Israeli government propogates this myth is completely irrelevant. It also calls Israeli Arabs "Israelis" and not "Palestinians"; you believe that, too?
40. I agree it's nasty
me ,   Israel   (09.26.06)
Does it means that it must not be done?
41. monument to war?
Michael ,   Seattle, WA   (09.27.06)
Wars based on past hatreds? We build monuments to them to incite future hatreds that brew into new wars, ad infinitum? Where are we going here? Are we Jews, Palestinians, Iranians, Americans, etc? Are we not all humans? Can we not treat eachother humanely, each child allowed to grow up with the dignity and respect that each of us deserves?
