1. From the Refugees of Gush Katif
Israeli   (10.01.06)
For abandoning them before and after the "disengagement"; for belittling them before; for not taking care of them after. For demanding they sacrifice all in exchange for nothing; for accusing them of wanting violence, when it was the police who delivered violence and NOT the settlers; for turning our backs on the dream of Israel when they held firmly to it.
2. To the people of Israel
Israeli   (10.01.06)
For letting the government abandon you to poverty, to missile attacks, to suicide bombers, to left-wing politicians who care more for their own political future than for the State.
3. To the women of Israel
Israeli   (10.01.06)
For letting men harrass you and think it is acceptable; for letting the government fail to take you seriously.
4. To the National Religious Camp
Israeli   (10.01.06)
For painting a picture of violent extremists, when really what you have is people who love this land and seek peace where peace can be found and not in the empty gestures and absurd roadmaps the government seeks to ram down our throats.
5. what about the lebanese?
norris meyer ,   new york, usa   (10.01.06)
How about a very big sorry to the innocent people of Lebanon whose lives, property and ability to function as a socety has been destroyed by your country? Why are there no reports of Israel pouring funds and resources into Lebanon to help repair the unprecedented damage it caused.
6. What about ynet's sins?
Daniel ,   Tekoa   (10.01.06)
Like anti Jewish articles.
7. It's not about telling OTHER people what to apologize for...
jerusalem   (10.01.06)
Yom Kippur is for introspection about what I/we could be doing better, not about blaming other people for our problems.
8. I don't think so
Menachem ,   T-A, IL   (10.01.06)
Israel does not owe anyone an apology, least of all the palestinians. I may not agree with everything the government does, but that doesn't mean they owe me or anyone else an apology.
9. #5
Antonio ,   Haifa   (10.01.06)
Lebanese are not innocent. They attacked us, and they didn't get half of what they should've gotten in response.
10. From media (expanded)
Gaby ,   Boston, usa   (10.01.06)
Meaning from 10-20 corrupt, cowardly, bribed by Eurabian money media barons including the owners of ynet?
11. to #5
Stan ,   New York   (10.01.06)
The Lebanese government needs to apologize to its people for failing to deploy the lebanese army on the border and and failing to act like a sovereign state.
12. Thiis is such bullshit.....take advantage of Yom Kippur to..
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (10.01.06)
bash the State of Israel. This country is a wonderful country. Leave the Israel bashing to the arabs, you morons.
13. Was the situation really better
tFighterPilot   (10.01.06)
in the time of our "founding fathers"?
14. apologize for LYING and DECEIPT and UNDERMINING DEMOCRACY
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh   (10.01.06)
before the elections, any Kassam that landed in Sderot was relegated to the back page, if published at all. the 'pravda-style' left-wing press prevented any serious debate about the issues before the elections - they 'changed the topic' away from the missle threat. they said this 'scares the public.' they didn't want to publicize anything that indicated that the Gaza retreat was a FAILURE LIARS !!!!!!
15. more on appologizing to media
Gaby ,   Boston, usa   (10.01.06)
I would rather ask you as media to appologize to the state of israel for printing articles by the likes of Beilin, Sarid and Shulamit Aloni and this very article for dirty Eurabian money.
16. apologize
michael ,   miami,usa   (10.01.06)
Ynet should apologize to Jews everywhere for printing leftist/liberal garbage day after day and year after year. you think Israel should apologize to the palestinians? what a joke. you people are criminals. print this if you have the courage. atone for your misguided, self-destructive ways!
17. the media
mike bne avi ,   jerusalem   (10.01.06)
balderdash from avida: yes, the media has the right to publish information. but the media also should judge caefully, if it should publish information. journaists should also know when not to publish if it is detrimental to to the country/society in which it functions. i recall a statement of basic civics, with every "right" there is a responsibility, and here all of our media often falls very short of the line.
18. How about we citizens asking forgiveness
Kike el hombre ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (10.01.06)
for our sins against the state? By refusing to give credit to Olmert, Livni et al for the great DIPLOMATIC VICTORY they gave us... By critisizing in the most disgusting way our Chief of Staff, a man who did his utmost to defend us against Hezbollah and wasn't given enough time (By Europe, the UN, the US and the Muslim world) to disarm them... By denigrating our Defense Minister, despite the fact that he inherited every single problem in the Defense Stablishment... Calling for their resignation in such a critical point was irresponsible, almost suicidal behaviour
19. Should Israel forgive YNET Staff?
S ,   Israel   (10.01.06)
Perhaps the YNETstaff should ask for forgiveness for their precious moralising. Such a self-righteous attempt at lecturing is pitiful. The State of Israel is bigger than all of YNET's Editorial staff, throughout its short history, put together.
20. about the media
dave ,   herzliya   (10.01.06)
There is something specific about the Israeli media which is much more sensationalist, quick to jump on accusations and blow EVERYTHING out of proportion compared to other countries in the world.
21. "suicide missions"
dave ,   herzliya   (10.01.06)
I do not want to diminish the damage we took during this war, but how many losses did we take during the six day war? Had today's media existed during '67 we would be calling that a massive failure. Perspective people, perspective
22. A New Yom Kippur Tradition
Erik   (10.01.06)
from the generic Jews of Ynet: list the amends that others need to make instead of focusing on one's own faults and misdeeds. But I suppose that looking in the mirror may just be too painful and revealing for Ynet's staff - and perhaps that "list" would be way too long for the confines of this website.
23. you're right
Fadi ,   Ayta Shaeb/Lebanon   (10.01.06)
Yes, we are not innocent, you have the right to think we deserves more, because we are not willing to stop, since 1982, we keep developing our arsenal to kill you more, to burn your people more and to defeat the elite IDF units more, we are preparing for the next round, where the IFA will efficiency will be down. we learnt the lesson, and next time we may talk face to face in Haifa. A bientot
24. Zionisim was a bad idea
Israel Ben Moshe ,   USA   (10.01.06)
But now that the state exists i hope and pray that the elected leaders keep security a priority not politics...
25. Apologize to arabs?journalists?
Roberto ,   Scarsdale,NY   (10.01.06)
Such a self serving article:"we are simply doing our jobs".As if most journalists in Isarel believe in the Zionism of Herzl and Ben Gurion,Israel mission as a safe haven for Jews, primarily as a nation where healthy Jewish nationalism(the word the left hates)thrives,as loving your country does not mean being "racist",a society that calls Arabs what most of them are:Jew haters, that their hate comes from their religion, their culture, their schools, mosques and homes, not from Jewish actions or thoughts, that, unfortunately, there is no partner for peace, something all Jews regret, even the ones on the right.Furthermore Yom Kippur is a time for introspection, not to ask or issue apologies.Ms.Pezzlo is more concerned in appeasing the non Jews,by accepting their anti Jewish indictements as true,if only we remove our Jewish "outfit" the world will see we are "normal".Well, we have been trying this for 2000 years and has not worked.Maybe Ms.Pezzlo should ask G-d to forgive her for her delusion.
26. stupid list. Y?
chaim ,   jerusalem   (10.01.06)
ynet should be asking forgiveness for this article.
27. A LIght Unto the World
Knave Dave ,   U.S.A.   (10.01.06)
Israel was to be a light to the word in the sense of revealing God to the world. And the writers of the Tanakh certainly did that. There would be no Islam and no Christianity without the foundation laid by the Tanakh. But what modern Israel reveals to the world is that Jews without God live in a miserable state. With only 10% of the populace appearing to have any genuine belief in God, it's no wonder you have so much poverty and so much corruption and such failure at acquiring the land you want. That's the light you are to the world today: People without God spin their wheels in the sand.
28. #9 listen!
zul fikar ,   Bent Jbeil/ Lebanon   (10.01.06)
Yes, we are not innocent, you have the right to think we deserves more, because we are not willing to stop, since 1982, we keep developing our arsenal to kill you more, to burn your people more and to defeat the elite IDF units more, we are preparing for the next round, where the IFA will efficiency will be down. we learnt the lesson, and next time we may talk face to face in Haifa. 29. Does the editorial staff actually read these talkbacks?
sk ,   USA   (10.01.06)
It's hard to believe they do. But here is a tip (which I am not the first to make): Yom Kippur is not a time to suggest that OTHER PEOPLE atone for THEIR sins. Rather, it is time to atone for ONE'S OWN sins. Now, let's be honest that few of the Ynet staff even believe in the concept of sin. But I hope even atheists can understand the usefulness of reflecting ONE DAY OF THE YEAR on what they might have PERSONALLY done TO THEIR FELLOW JEWS. Yom Kippur is not about aggregates atoning; it is about individuals doing so. In the unlikely event that the editorial staff actually reads this, I hope it born in mind next year. At least have the decency not to have opinion columns about Yom Kippur if you cannot handle it appropriately.
30. YNET is perfect. They never sin or make mistakes [END]
