1. hypocrisy: Barghouti and Abbas are from the same party...

2. proving again: you have no idea about politics. step down!
uli ,   Jerusalem   (10.04.06)
Why should Israel bolser Abbas? It is a bad idea to get involved in inner Palestinian wars (as you claim yourself israel is not). Israel should wait, who wins and then decide how to procede. Giving support to one side (Abbas/Fatah) brings this side even closer to loss, since it will be seen as a collaborator with Israel. Peretz, you are stuck in this left wing thinking of the good palestinians that must be supported and don't see how you yourself build the picture of an Israel the produced a puppet regime. Let them fight with themselves and stick out! No weaponds to nobody and attack everybody who endangers Israel!
3. Israeli weakness invites war
Marcel ,   Florida   (10.04.06)
An enemy who watches israel closely can se that it is not the same country anymore. Their P.M. is tired and a defeatist willing to appease and surreender at every opportunity. This weak and cowardly goverment leads Israel forward ,not to peace but major war.
4. Have you thought about peace lately as an option?
alexander ,   Lebanon   (10.04.06)
We in Lebanon feel sorry for you guys not knowing who to blame for your failure in Lebanon. The problem is that you are stuck with one view that more killing will bring you peace. Well, you are damn wrong. But we agree that we do not want someone who says he wants peace and murder thousands of civilians on our side. We prefer to see dumb people like Sharon or Begin, atleast we see the true face of the criminal. Have you thought about peace lately as an option? Your bombs will only create more enemies that will never forgive your future generations. Think again out of the box. Just an advice from over the fence... Come on!!! what a neighbour is for? we are here to help you achieve peace through PEACE
5. THEN RESIGN!!
Arie ,   Afula   (10.04.06)
As long as our enemies maintain a "war option" we need to maintain a DEFENSE MINISTER not a minister of cowardice and appeasement
6. Assad is saving us from Peretz amputating the Golan
T M ,   L J USA   (10.04.06)
Israel is defenselehss without the Golan. Everytime Peretz says the words "peace" or "talks", we know his intent is to give away to our enemies: (1) strategic high ground to invading armies (2) hydrologic capture zones for the Jordan river, the Kineret, and other vital surface waters (3) groundwater recharge zones. ISRAELIS BETTER WAKE UP TO UNDERSTAND THAT A STATE OF WAR WITH SYRIA IS BETTER THAN A PEACE WITHOUT THESE VITAL NATIONAL RESOURCES.
7. #4...nice try!!!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (10.04.06)
You people always try to take the high moral ground in this conflict, but guess what, you'll never ever get it. Israel, as much of the world knows, wants peace and quiet. If it really wamted war, there would be no Lebanon and no Iran, and no Palestinians. You now this very well. It is impossible for Israel to not act militarily when it is under constant attacks and threats. Lebanon is a miserable failure in the war on terror and in peacekeeping. Your gov't let Hezballah sit in the South and compile arms for years and then you complian when Israel retaliates??? Get real guy. Your are living in fantasy world where bad guys are actually good.
8. Resign and take Olmert & Halutz with you. Thanks

9. To ignorant person; comment #4
Adam ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.04.06)
Actually all Israel ever wanted with Lebanon was peace. Nearly all of Lebanon don't want peace with Israel. About half of Lebanon support our destruction and the other half would like to enforce the armastice agreement but not a peace deal that we have desired since the beginning. Also if you check your FACTS i think you will discover that it was Begin who returned the Sinai to Egypt for a peace deal and it was Sharon who withdrew from the Gaza Strip whereas it was Barak's withdrawal from Lebanon and Olmert's talk of withdrawing from the WB that caused the war in your country.
