assuming that Vlaams Belang eschews hatred of people of goodwill, including Muslims, and opposes enemies, including Islamists, ceteris paribus, Jews should support the Belang.
2. Call for Jewish vote
charles wildstein ,   Petach Tikva   (10.05.06)
First of all , observant Jews in Belgium can't go to the polls : Second day of Succoth . As a former inhabitant of this town , I know this extreme xenophobic party . Many of his founders were collaborators with the nazi's during WWII . Today they are anti muslims , it's not so accepted by the general population to be antisemite . But they are , first they want to clear the muslim problem , and this is OK by many inhabitants . Thereafter they will find a way to express their Jews hate . There are Jews who say : Ennemy's of my ennemy's are my friends . Stupid !!! Do not trust Dewinter's "love" for Israel . Even Jewish Belgians residing in Israel have voted for him during the last parlementary elections . Stupids!!!!!!! There was an antisemitic incident in Wilrijk , near Antwerp . Two Yeshiva students were attacked when waiting at a bus stop after Yom Kippour .

This article says that Jews and Muslims are living side by side in Antwerp. Nonsense. They are living side by side like in Israel. With constant threat of violence by those peaceful muslims. I am not sure if Vlaams Belang is good or not for Belgium, but it certainly shows that the extreme left is making extreme mistakes in their absorbing muslims who have no intention to live side by side, not with Jews or with Christians or with any other Belgians.
5. Racial tension
tommy ,   belfast uk   (10.05.06)
All down to islam and why is a man referred to as extreme right when he is one of the few who can actually see what the problem is and has a solution to it. After all we have tried appeasement and it only quietens the beast until it gets its breath back.(support barbarism- make islam a reality)
6. He is only using the Jews!!!

Barry Granbridge ,   Tokyo   (10.05.06)
It´s refreshing to see someone speaking out about the obvious threat to Western Civilization. The UK is nearly overtaken (Londonistan, Chamberlainian appeasement) , France (12% Mulslim population) is doomed. Not yet late to go on the offence against Islamo-Fascists! G000000000ooooooo Belgium!

charles wildstein ,   Petach tikva   (10.05.06)
I do'nt know where you live , I lived till 2001 in Antwerp , so i can tell you they live more side by side in Antwerp . The muslims live in a suburb were Jews lived from the 30's untill the Shoa , and again after the war . Many Jewish shops still exist there . This flemish party is not extreme right only because of his racism , but it's general view on politics . So talk about facts you know and not when you are ignorant
10. European version of "xenophobia"
Eduardo ,   Santa Cruz, Spain   (10.05.06)
European countries are far left wing. Simply advocating the enforcement of laws or the punishment of crime is enough to be labeled "far right wing". I will take "xenophobic" in this case as meaning "not willing to let some illegal who raped a 10 year old girl get away with a slap in the wrist". Sad but true
11. "Left" and "Right"
Ephraim ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (10.05.06)
Left and Right are political terms which are not well-defined. Their meaning has evolved with time and is different from place to place. Originally the Right privileged the nobility, the Left privileged the bourgeoisie. During the 2nd part of the 19th century, the Right became associated with all the wealthy (aristocrats and bourgeois), the Left with the workers and the unemployed. In other words: for the Right Liberty was the most essential principle, for the Left it was Equality. This distinction remained valid for a long time. But in the Soviet Union, the political activists who fought against the regime (like Sakharov) were called "Rightists" by the Soviet authorities, "Leftists" by the Western Europeans. Today the confusion is growing. Many European Socialist politicians are openly antisemitic, but they are considered by their peers and by the journalists as Leftists. Israel on the other hand is considered by the majority of European politicians and journalists as an "Extreme-Right" regime, although our Arab minority is represented in our parliament, it receives full children's allowances, its schools (where Arabic is spoken and where they are taught Islam) are fully subsidized by the State, etc. Things which the Muslim minorities in Western Europe are still fighting for and did not obtain yet. Concerning Antwerp, do not forget that Jews are an endangered species, a small minority, and if a powerful political party extends its hands towards the Jews it is not very wise to reject it. After all, here in Israel, we have had a number of governments which spat in the face of the Religious, which trampled upon the Torah, the poor, and the Jewish settlers; and we are still paying our taxes.
12. Islamic fashists
Illia ,   Israel   (10.05.06)
In a few years it will be ruled by Muslems. They will probably kill Jews or alow to live a few Beilin types who will report to them on other Jews (where they live, addresses, etc) like they do in Israel. The situation is bad, very bad in Belgium. American Jews already afraid to walk on US university campuses. Left-wingers (Arabs and non-Arabs) are very powerful and they realy hate Jews
13. Antwerp
charles wildstein ,   petach tikva   (10.05.06)
In Antwerp the Jewish community is not an "endangered" species . No many intermarriages . Most of the Jewish children , not only orthodox or haridi , attend Jewish schools . They can even have the Israeli psychometry exam in on of those schools and go , as the Israeli students to the university here without any other exam ! Antwerp Jews have a very warm connection to Israel , many have family here .
14. Extreme right
Gijs ,   Netherlands   (10.05.06)
The terms extreme right, xenophobic are incorrect. Vlaams Belang is conservative at most. Vlaams Belang has been and is demonized for years by (extreme) left wing, corrupt politicians in Belgium. People who repeat terms like far right, xenophobic and so on bear false witness against Vlaams belang.
15. Belgians have explaining to do
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (10.06.06)
The Belgians have not explained why they deserve to keep their culture and preserve their race. They may learn the value of life once a fascist regime takes control. Well, one they they don't sympathize with :)
16. #11 Theres a little difference between Israel and Europe..
Dan ,   Montreal   (10.06.06)
"our Arab minority is represented in our parliament, it receives full children's allowances, its schools (where Arabic is spoken and where they are taught Islam) are fully subsidized by the State, etc. Things which the Muslim minorities in Western Europe are still fighting for and did not obtain yet. " The difference is that arabs were there first in Israel, not in Europe. And don't be a hypocrite, you know very well that arabs are treated inequaly in Israel. That, however, does not excuse Europe's racist and xenophobic behavior. Apparently racism is alive and doing well all around the world!
17. To Charles @ 9
Tommy ,   belfast UK   (10.06.06)
Charles-This is 2006 a lot of things have happened since 2001 An assortment of clips- Brussels: Muslims riot for 3rd straight night-- the Brussels journal Guido Demoor, a 54-year old Flemish train conductor on his way to work, was kicked to death by six “youths” on a crowded bus near Antwerp’s Central Station---Three Moroccans, two of whom are minors, were arrested today Joe Van Holsbeeck, 17 years of age, was murdered in Brussels Central Station----For an entire week the police, the authorities and most of the media have tried to downplay the fact that the killers are Muslim youths. Police in Belgium and France yesterday arrested 15 suspected militants believed to be linked to a Belgian woman who carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq last month. The 38-year-old convert to Islam blew herself up on Nov 9 on the outskirts of Baghdad in what security sources believe was the first suicide attack involving a European woman. With each arrest, investigators uncovered fresh evidence that placed small-town Maaseik at the center of a terrorist network stretching across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The town had served as a haven for suspects in the Madrid train explosions that killed 191 people in March 2004, for instance, as well as an important meeting place for the GICM's European leadership. "We have brothers who are ready to sacrifice their lives for the triumph of Islam in Great Britain, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and also the United States" Wake up Charles--the solution is in front of you...Dewinter's proposals in this article are relevant
