1. Why not Livni?
Lee ,   New York   (10.05.06)
For secretary of the commission, why not pick someone who will not be biased due to knowledge of anything, someone whose mind is a blank slate (and someone whose physical appearance will occupy the attention of the Israeli media): why not Livni? And why not have Halutz serve on the committee, as there are indications he knew little if anything re what was happening on the ground during the war. Also, if anyone says anything that is anti-Olmert, Halutz can fire them (even if they retired). Also, I suggest they further limit the committee' scope of investigation to what happened in Eilat and points south during the war, and limit it further to what happened on odd hours (skipping even hours). After all, we wouldnt want this committee to actually discover anything of value, would we?
2. Supreme Court
Ben Hur ,   Manhattan, USA   (10.05.06)
THe Supreme Court is supreme over the lower courts, NOT over the other branches of government. Whether or not there is an inquiry is dependent on the ELECTED representatives of the PEOPLE, not UNELECTED lawyers appointed by other UNELECTED lawyers.
3. Commision of inquiry
Joe Simon ,   Kfar Aviv, Israel   (10.05.06)
It is obvious why a state commision of inquiry was not established. After all, what politician wants the truth to come out. Unfortunately, the members of our government are more interested in keeping their fat asses on their seats then they are in saving the country.
4. The "Supreme Court" wants Merlot gone because ...
sk ,   USA   (10.05.06)
Merlot is no longer able to expel Jews from Yesha given his terrible political position. I guess the SC prefers someone like Bibi, who, I guess, will be more able to give away Jewish land -- which history shows he will do. My only question is whether Bibi would launch a successful attack against Iran, something Merlot would never attempt. Despite some serious reservations, I still think Feiglin (Manihigut Yehudit) is the way to go.
5. To #1, what are you smoking?
Canada ,   Jew   (10.06.06)
Livni and Haluts are 2 clowns who are partners to this desaster. If you dont know what youre talking about, then shut up! Livni? any 3rd year law student could have done a better job at the U.N. , not to mention making the case for Israel internationally...which is really her job...she's simply not qualified. Haluts?...not gonna even bother getting into that one.... They dont know what they are doing! I fear for Israel's near future..
6. #5 your not serious are you?
