Under no circumstances should prisoners be released to the Hamas terrorists. This same process led to the kidnappings in the first place. Instead, Israel's should go after those involved and bring them to justice. The international community should also hold any governments that support the terrorists -- directly or indirectly by encouraging the negotiations -- accountable for their actions. Time to pay the price for their crimes.

One of the main rules of the M.E. is different than in the West. Looking weak brings on attacks by the Arabs from their sense that it will now work. It comes from the tribal/sectarian style of organization & leadership. In the west, concessions & negotiations lead to peace. Both the Egyptian & Jordanian peace treaties were based on strength. Both countries expressed that they were settling because they no longer saw it as possible to defeat Israel. Only then were negotiations successful. Makes Israel look poor in western eyes often, but it's a reality that effects how they defend themselves.
