I think you might be missing one point. At a time when there's so much enmity toward Israel, having high-profile celebrities performing there is not only good for Israeli morale, but it focuses attention on something other than wars, bombings, and mayhem. My own feeling is that celebrities get way too much attention, but I'd rather they get attention for doing something positive regarding Israel than the alternative.

Please, no more negative words about him. I believe that he (and others who have performed here in Israel only want to do good-- Roger Waters, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Neil young and MANY others) but unlike the rest, Santana wishes to make a statement about world peace. He and his wife deborah are from all accounts, very spiritually connected people. Can't we give peace a chance?
