I am a Catholic too and have known it is Jewish since I was a child and studied the Bible at school. This is right. A different matter is that the pal jihadists want it for islam, as it happens with the whole Israel. They say Israel belongs to islam because once it was occupied by Muslims (Hamas charter). This is what jihadists believe about any place they once occupied. So beware of them, Indians, and some European places. We are all in the same boat
32. "Jerusalem Resolution"
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (10.09.06)
1st Session S. J. RES. 14 Providing for the recognition of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel before the United States recognizes a Palestinian state, and for other purposes. IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES April 19, 2005 Mr. BROWNBACK (for himself, Mr. CRAPO, and Mr. SMITH) introduced the following joint resolution; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations JOINT RESOLUTION Providing for the recognition of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel before the United States recognizes a Palestinian state, and for other purposes. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This joint resolution may be cited as the `Jerusalem Resolution'. SEC. 2. FINDINGS. Congress makes the following findings: (1) Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years. (2) Jerusalem has never been the capital for any other state other than for the Jewish people. (3) Jerusalem is central to Judaism and is cited in the Tanach, the Hebrew Bible, 766 times. (4) Jerusalem is not mentioned by name in the Koran. (5) Every sovereign nation has the right to designate its own capital. (6) Jerusalem is the seat of the Government of Israel, including the President, the parliament, and the Supreme Court. (7) United States law states as a matter of United States policy that Jerusalem should be the undivided capital of Israel. (8) Israel is the only country in which the United States neither maintains an embassy in the city designated as the capital by the host country nor recognizes such city as the capital. (9) The citizens of Israel should be allowed to worship freely and according to their traditions. (10) Israel supports religious freedom for all faiths. (11) Relocating the United States Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would express the continued support of the United States for Israel and for an undivided Jerusalem. SEC. 3. LOCATION OF UNITED STATES EMBASSY IN ISRAEL. Not later than 180 days before recognizing a Palestinian state, the United States shall move the United States Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. SEC. 4. RECOGNITION OF ISRAEL AS UNDIVIDED CAPITAL OF ISRAEL. The United States shall not recognize a Palestinian state until the international community resolves the status of Jerusalem by recognizing the city as the undivided capital of Israel. SEC. 5. SENSE OF CONGRESS REGARDING FREEDOM OF WORSHIP. It is the sense of Congress that the citizens of Israel should be allowed, as a fundamental human right recognized by the United States and United Nations General Assembly resolution 181 of November 29, 1947, to worship freely and according to their traditions.

This Resolution mentions an undivided Jerusalem. The Resolution BETRAYS Israel and the Free World's people by treacherously agreeing to a Palestinian state - a terror state dedicated to Jewish annihilation. 34. #32 - 80% OF "PALESTINIANS" WANT ISRAEL DESTROYED!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.09.06)
U.S. "Christian" congressmen and senators are not unaware that 80% of "PALESTINIANS WANT ISRAEL DESTROYED. May 2003 Pew Global poll: 80% of Palestinians agreed with the statement: "The rights and needs of the Palestinian people cannot be taken care of as long as the State of Israel exists." All PA maps show the new state of Palestine covering ALL Israel with ALL Jerusalem as their capital - the Jewish Holy Land is the highly coveted prize of global jihad. http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/pictures/PalestinianChildAbuse
35. Bible has no authority or credibility
FM ,   Seattle, USA   (10.09.06)
Linda, why don't you try making reference to something that could hold up in court? The argument that God gave Israel to the Jews is totally lame and worthless. The Bible has no actual authority and little or no credibility at all. If the Bible is your only source for this authority then your whole point is moot. The fact that you belive it is one thing, that thousands of other people believe it is nice, but it doesn't make it so; it doesn't make it real. You can quote the Bible all day, but that means nothing! I might as well quote you the Qu'ran . Would that mean anything to you? It means the world to those who believe in it, but so what? Why can't you understand that? I'm sure the Jews are happy to hear what you have to say most of the time because your opinion overlap with theirs in many ways--especially where you defend Israel,etc--but if you're Christian, then your opinions ultimately diverge at some point--beyond reconciliation. Believe what you want but don't go around quoting it and spewing it like it's real. Don't hold your breath for the 2nd coming either....Jews: don't hold your breath for the 1st coming. It's all in your head.
36. Unite, for humanity's sake
FM ,   Seattle, USA   (10.09.06)
Islam, Christianity and Judaism are a sham. The Bible is not the inerrant word of God, neither is the Qu'ran. All three religions are paganism--mostly polytheistic at that--raised to the level of primacy through politics and violence. I don't say that to be disrespectful but rather to put things into perspective. These books are the word of man--full of errors, edits and contradictions. If their mesages were so clear--as others like to say--then why don't all Christians, Jews or Muslims agree upon what they say and what is meant by what they say? I know most people's answer to that is that what they believe is correct and the rest are wrong, but that's an extremely arrogant way of thinking. By the way, I'm not trying to say that I know what God wants, so don't attempt to lump me in with what I've just criticized. I've come to terms with the idea that we, collectively, DON'T know and probably CAN'T know what God really wants of us. Instead, I focus on what we can do for ourselves to help ourselves, that is good for ALL of us, regardless of what stories you might believe. I think that ultimately the greatest challenge we face--as humanity--is how to overcome our differences and come together. This is in all of our best interests. Instead of dividing ourselves--which our religions surely do--why don't we do what it will take to come together? Isn't that a noble pursuit? We could--and do--bicker and debate all day long, what the Truth is and who's religion holds it, al the while we drift further apart. Sure, there are some, who in the name of ecumenism, offer dialogue and peace to people of other religions, but at the end of the day they still believe in their own particular religion OVER that of the others. Instead of doing good because some book tells you to do so, or threatens you if you don't, or makes promises of paradise, why not do good for the BEST reason there is? because it's GOOD to do good. Why not do good for the sake of goodness, knowing that it's good for us all? Why not do what is good for others simply because that's the right thing to do? Why does there have to be anything more to it? Religion is not the answer. Religion is the problem. It divides us, with the possibility of some residual effect of feeling good within yourself. Sure, feeling good is nice, but to dedicate your life to a bunch of stories is insane. Dedicate your life to being good, to being the best person you can be, the best neighbor you can be. I think the "golden rule" has a good message, but that idea is much older than the Bible, and is only useful when divorced from the rest of the clutter and distraction of the Bible. How are we going to come together if we keep dividing ourselves? If your answer involves conversion then you are fooling yourself. There is no way--aside from brute force, maybe--that this whole world is going to become members of ONE religion. Some people are going to be anger at what I've just said; for that, I appologize. It's probably because you have too much invested, and therefore too much to lose, to be able to look at these issues objectively. Let's come together. Let's unite, for humanity's sake.

It's really sad that you cannot believe in the bible. Maybe one day you will but it may be too late. Jerusalem does belong to the Jews, all history proclaims it.

FM ,   Seattle, USA   (10.09.06)
Debbie, everyone else.... I believe the Bible is a book, I just don't believe it's what Jews and Christians think it is: the inerrant word of God--for several reasons. Most of what you think you know about the Bible simply isn't true, that's why I don't believe it. If you were to read what leading scholars and experts have to say about it you would understand what I mean. Among their discoveries are: that Moses didn't write the Torah (how & why would he write about his own death in the 3rd person perspective?), that Solomon's Temple never exsisted, Noah's Ark didn't exist, there are multiple versions of many events in the Bible that contradict eachother (creation, the flood, Jesus' birth, etc), the people that wrote the New Testament weren't Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, that their stories already existed and were recreations of what others had already written and known about. Long story short, there's no proof of anything that the Bible says--none. In fact, in the first hundred years of "Christianity" there was a huge debate about whether a person named Jesus ever existed in th flesh--among "Christians". Why would that be? If he had just existed and died, why would the locals debate whether or not he existed? Why wouldn't the issue of his divinity be clear? why would his birthday by placed on the same day as the pagan Gods that were already worshipped? To appease them? That's stupid. If Jesus existed and was born on a certain day, why would his birthday be moved for any reason? Why is everything about Christianity taken straight out of existing paganism? Most of it was taken straight from Mithraism and Zoroastianism--two of the prevailing "religions" of the time. The association with the cross, the virgin birth, the trinity concept, the day of judgement, the day of birth, the ressurection--all come from pagan religions that existed at the time of the creation of Christianity. Are we to believe that it's just a coincidence that they both have these in common?
39. knowledge is power (part 2)
FM ,   Seattle, USA   (10.09.06)
If you know anything about the cultures in the area at that time, you'll see a lot in common, with only small differences here and there LONG before Jesus came along. The stories in the Bible--old and new testament--are so much older than the Bible versions, and are borrowed from other nearby cultures. Judaism isn't monotheistic and never was. Yahweh was but one of many tribal deities that gained primacy and prominance through politics and violence. Jews believed in many different Gods even at the time of Moses was supposed to exist and afterwards. There is no phyisical or historical proof of Moses, Abraham, Noah, Adam, Eve, etc or an exodus from Egypt (in fact, during the time Moses's story supposedly happened the land in and around Israel was part of Egypt's empire). While I'm at it, why do you Jews (and some others) bother with writing "G-d" like this? Supposedly you're not to say or write the name of God, but "God" isn't it's name, so why don't you feel like you can say or write the word "God"? I could go on and on, but the issue is tiring. It's not sad, it's enlightening to know what's real and what's not real. Knowledge is power, and without it you're left to believe almost anything since you don't know any better. I'm not an atheist, either. I have a strong sense of spirituality that doesn't come from any religion and isn't dictated by any book. I have faith, but not is these books written by humans that are supposedly the words of God. God wouldn't make mistakes, or contraictions or multiple versions--people do that. If God is real, then you can know God--without a book, without a religion--in the middle of the desert, if you'd like. Instead of blindly believing some book, why not honestly and sincerely seek God and foster a personal relationship? Your religion can and will only take you so far. Ultimately we all need to move past it, so we CAN come together. What is your option? What's your advice? We all become Christian? We all become Jewish? All Muslim? Baha'i? Forget it. That will NEVER happen. So how do we ever get past that which divides us? Tell me if you can. Don't give me that 'Jesus is the only way' stuff, or the line about the day of judgement. Neither of those make any sense and you don't have any good reason for believing that. Heaven and Hell are right here and now, not after life.

If you were to actually read the Bible, you would find that It has more credibility than any other book in the history of mankind. Many, Many prophecies in the Bible have come to pass, and those not yet fulfilled will be. Example : Israel was a wasteland for centuries. The Bible says that God would restore the Jews to the land that He has given them (ISREAL), and He did that in 1948. I hope and pray that you will accept the Bible for the COMPLETE truth that it is before your death and that you will bow to and confess JESUS as your Savior. If you do NOT do that now, you will someday, but that someday will be too late.
41. Dan, you sound like a broken record
FM ,   Seattle, USA   (10.10.06)
For what it's worth, Dan, I've already done that--a long time ago, when I was a kid. According to Christianity that's enough to save me for the rest of my life. So, as far as you're concerned, I'm already "saved", but thanks anyways. This question is for any of yourChristians....... what's it going to be like when Jesus comes back? (and PLEASE don't quote Revelations) Is it all going to go down just like Revelations says? Do you really think so? Is he going to float down from Heaven and we'll all watch it live on the news? Will it be in the Middle East? Do you think anyone will/would believe him? Would you believe ME if I said I was Jesus? Why not? How do you think you're going to know? When is that supposed to be? PLEASE don't say "in the end times". I'm challenging you to THINK for YOURSELVES, so show me what you've got....lif you can. I can bet right now that most of you--if you bother--will say the same old tired thing, proving that you don't know and that you don't even know what you're saying.

44. DIVINE INSPIRATION
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (10.10.06)
BELIEF IN INSPIRED BOOKS among the Jews The belief in the sacred character of certain books is as old as the Hebrew literature. Moses and the prophets had committed to writing a part of the message they were to deliver to Israel from God. Now the naby (prophet), whether he spoke or wrote, was considered by the Hebrews the authorized interpreter of the thoughts and wishes of Yahweh. He was called, likewise, "the man of God," "the man of the Spirit" (Hosea 9:7). It was around the Temple and the Book that the religious and national restoratiion of the Jewish people was effected after their exile (see 2 Maccabees 2,13-14, and the prologue of Sirach in the Septuagint). Philo (from 20 B.C. to A.D. 40) speaks of the "sacred books", "sacred word", and of "most holy scripture" (De vita Moysis, iii, no. 23). The testimony of Flavius Josephus (A.D. 37-95) is still more characteristic; it is in his writings that the word inspiration (epipnoia) is met for the first time. He speaks of twenty-two books which the Jews with good reason consider Divine, and for which, in case of need, they are ready to die (Contra Apion., I, 8). The belief of the Jews is the inspiration of the Scriptures did not diminsh from the time in which they were dispersed throughout the world, without temple, without altar, without priests; on the contrary this faith increased so much that it took the place of everything else.
45. Knowledge is power
Debbie ,   West Indies   (10.10.06)
When there is too much knowledge, we then to lose sight of faith and belief in things that are so simple to understand. I have one question, how is it so easy for you to believe all the information you give and it is so hard to believe the information from the bible? As you say all books were written by men then maybe your info is wrong too. All creation declares that G-d exist. We must account for all that we do, whether it happens while we are alive or after we die.

How about some real history. Do you think that the Diaspora was in vain. The Holy ONE scattered the Jewish people for the sole purpose of cleansing and punishment for there unbelief after Yeshua offered His blood and body on the cross but they did not accept him. Israel will NEVER be taken out from their country anymore. Aren't you aware that the Jewish People are God's chosen people. Jerusalem needs to have all muslims presence removed, especially the Dome of the Rock which is desecrating God Holy City; rebuilt the temple. Israel and have faith. My beloved Jewish people you need to repend and turned to Yeshua for eternal salvation. Shaalu Shalom Yerushaliim I love Israel and the Jewish people.
