Most people will opt for a Jewish marriage anyway. Those who don't, too bad, guess whose kids will be mamzerim or goyim within another generation or two?

With untold numbers of Israeli citizens from the Former Soviet lands unable to marry under the current system; with many living together without marriage as a result of this, the electorate will demand and get civil marriage. Many Jews, regarding themselves as non-religious, would in fact opt for Masorti or Reform, as their bretheren in the USA have done, if these movements were also recognized officially. Again, in time the electorate will decide. And reform of the gov't structure, eliminating a multipliciy of one-issue parties will strengthen democracy. Lieberman's got it right.

Are there any real Jews left in Israel. Do not wonder why G-D is allowing Israel to fall apart. It all starts from within. Remember the true Zionists, now you have watered down Olmerts', ready to appease the world along with his trader wife.

Actually, mamzerim are the result of adutery or incest. These people will never be married under halacha, so they won't produce any mamzerim in any case. Sad, but it will solve agunot's problem once and for all. Ysahi and cohorts never did a thing to improve this burning issue. Women are entitled to dignity too.
