1. Rumors of Wars
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (10.12.06)
Quite frankly we should all be worried about North Korea Iran and Syria. America's forces are already over streached and I am beginning to have a bad feeling how this will turn out. This has the potential of blowing up at anytime either in Korea, Iraq and Iran and or a terrorist strike in th US. This is probably one of the most dangerous periods in world history since th 62 missle crises with Cuba.
2. Kissinger Mistake
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (10.12.06)
And Give up all the Golan like we did Gaza and also Lebanon. That brought us war. Kissinger forced israel to give up part of the Golan in 1974 for a truce that was a mistake we had the land then to negotiate a peace treaty. Now there is too little to give back. Back to the cliffs over the Kinerret. I have always been under the belief that there would be one more war with Syria. I was in Israel during the 73 war and had friends killed and wounded in it talk yes but they want it all something that can't be done.

Use UN and NATO peacekeepers!!!
4. What a surprise
Fern ,   Colombia   (10.12.06)
What kind of confidence could you have in a this syrian crazy man: read at it: "Druze leader Walid Jumblatt said Thursday that “Syrian President Bashar Assad suffers from split personality disorder" Would you put on risk people liives dealing with a mad man?
5. #3 Like in Lebanon
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (10.12.06)
Just like in lebanon I don't think so even the ones in the Golan have been ok I think Israel cannot be put in a situation that she has to go back in ten years

8. Well, you've done it again!
RIB ,   USA   (10.13.06)
Aug. 25/06 "The estimate of one or two is actually fairly dated," said a senior expert on the North's nuclear programme at the Korea Institute of Defence Analyses, Kim Tae-woo. Most estimates of the North's nuclear arsenal vary between five to 10 and sometimes more, Kim said. This is not a B/S contest. Here's a broader scenario. http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=23441 There's no way to disconnect China's Tech. from N. Korea, Libya, Syria, Turkey, the Saudi's or Egypt. Like Russia, the World is their market place.
9. Peace in exchange for Golan
SAM ,   CANADA   (10.13.06)
you are dreaming, how you can make a peace with the devil in Syria,do you Accept to live beside a horrible regime in what you call PEACE.
10. You mean THIS Syria?
RIB ,   USA   (10.13.06)
THIS Syria! http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21610 ~The article also notes a CIA assessment that “Pyongyang has between 12 and 20 atomic bombs, with the likelihood that North Korea has already designed missile warheads.” Iran’s race toward nuclearization is, of course, in the public eye. - http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=23512 ~Double threat: North Korea makes weapons, then peddles them around world Published: 10.13.06, 02:22 According to US officials and outside experts, Pyongyang has sold its military goods to at least 18 countries, mostly in Africa and the Middle East. That's a good indication, officials warn, that North Korea might sell nuclear weapons if doing so would bring hard currency into the isolated, impoverished communist state. (AP)

12. Plocker's view
Brod ,   USA   (10.13.06)
According to Plocker, N. Korea is poor, starving, repressive...My question is how do you reconcile all that and N. Korea's achievement in high tech development--rockets and nukes? Plocker's view in dealing with Syria is simplistic. Just because Assad has made a statement about peace does not amount to anything. Genuine peace effort by an Arab Islamist-Jihadist state leader toward Israel can only be demonstrated by the Sadat approach. However, it is doubtful if you can find another Sadat in the Arab Islamist-Jihadist world.
13. North Korea / Syria War Scenarios
Neil Kuchinsky ,   Colonial Heights, VA   (10.14.06)
My concern is North Korea and Syria coordinating the timing of surprise attacks against South Korea and Israel while the US is stretched thin, and Israel is still learning to deal with the new anti-tank weapons and reexaminging its battle doctrines.
14. Those North Koreans will give all of us
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (10.14.06)
a good ass whipping. They are very used to living and fighting in the coldest conditions on the planet. They won't need a nuclear weapon to kick South Koreas behind. All the South Koreans do is use their new electronic gadgets and protest all the time. And they have heat! North Koreans will freeze their butts off all winter and shoot at everyone without batting an eye. The guys from South Korea will be protesting because they can't get a lap top to play a video game. Fighting North Korea will make Iraq look like a childs game. We may not have a choice. We might have to use nukes to stop these crazy maniacs. I could drop the North Koreans in the Arab penninsula, give them food, water, and ammunition, and they would conquer the Arabs. Never underestimate your enemy. George Bush isn't running out and starting a war with these guys. He doesn't want the casualties.
15. What makes everyone think..
DeAnna ,   OHIO, USA   (10.14.06)
that the u.s military is stretched thin? I don't get it, Our military is freikin huge! Not only that but if we are to attack N. Korea or Iran, Its going to be by Air or from somewhere else b/s in their countries. It seriously bothers me everyone thinks we are in bad shape... We havent even gotten started yet!
16. Plocker is off his rocker
Ilan ,   Ariel   (10.14.06)
Peace with Syria? Be serious. Syria will say many things to get back the Golan, but it is not willing to do anything to make the exchange into peaceful relations. The only result of an Israeli concession will be the expectation that more concessions will follow.
17. They live underground DeAnna from Ohio
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (10.14.06)
The bombing won't work any better than it did for Israel against Hezbollah. Be prepared for massive amounts of casualities. The last Korean War was a total frozen nightmare. Never underestimate your enemy. They have no amenities. They live in very cold conditions with no TV or other fun toys to play with. What have they got to lose?
18. Get real!
Peter ,   Australia   (10.15.06)
Hey you, yes you - Israel is not the centre of the planet and frankly most of the rest of the planet is sick of Israel's whining. There are other issues going on around Israel - have a look and try to be part of the global village - not some bunch of self obsessed, selfish, pedants.
19. 18# Is that why Australia turned it's head during WW2
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (10.15.06)
and ignored 6 million murders by Nazi's?You were all self obsessed? Humping some cow, who was part of the global village? When you get marched into a gas chamber---you have my permission to be self obsessed! Has Iran threatened to nuke your country lately? I didn't think so! That could be why Israel is chatting about it---Iran did threaten Israel.
20. It's the Nazi's fault...
Peter ,   Australia   (10.15.06)
That explains everything, it's the Nazi’s fault! That why Israel is so mad. Let’s move on from that – but before we do, let’s not forget the 20+ millions Russians, homosexuals, gypsies and those with physical and mental disabilities - but they weren't Jewish, so I guess they don't count. Why does the Arab world what Israel gone from the Middle East??? Let’s think about this for a moment... Did Israel do something to annoy the Arabs? Did Israel take something that didn’t belong to them? Take a good look at Israel’s record of human rights violations! A message to all the Steve Wilsons in the world… 1. I’m not a sap to the US media – there is a world out there – take a good look, if you dare 2. I didn’t vote for Dubya, but you deserve him, and how much did the Jews pay for his campaign? 3. I don’t care of the US runs out of oil Have a nice day :)
21. Australia isn't the bottom of the world
Ilan ,   Ariel   (10.15.06)
But that doesn't stop some Australians from being rotten apples from the bottom of the barrel. Sink any lower and even the worms will lose interest in you.
22. Fallacies in this article as I see it.
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (10.18.06)
I think this article posts some very misguided assumptions. One is to think that the North Koreans need billions to refine their bomb. The average North Korean makes a pittance compared to what a worker would make anywhere else in the world. Their economy struggles by on a shoestring, so will their nuclear ambitions. They have gotten this far on that stumbling economy. With that in mind I expect that they'll reach their goal all too soon in having a deliverable bomb The second is that all North Koreans are a staving emaciated people struggling by on the barest of margins. I have seen pictures of tour boats of North Koreans sailing the Yalu after their recent bomb test. That itself implies some measure of disposable income and at least some sort of middle class. Also while their streets seem awfully barren of wheeled traffic the people I have seen in these photos seem well and even fashionably dressed. This all said, I have no doubt that the people of North Korea have suffered horribly in the past and no doubt some still suffer today. None of which will stop them from perusing their goals and others from bankrolling them. Lastly the statement "the Iranian public that is educated, vibrant, open to the West and ready to topple its unpopular regime. " Is nothing short of wishful thinking. I've never seen any crack in the Iranian peoples hatred of the West and support of their chosen government. And lastly. When your dealing with Hamas and Hezbollah your dealing with Syria, and you know what you get from them.
