We have not yet realised that an air campaign will not win a war. Bombing targets in a country will not destabilise any regime, even one as despicable as the Iranian regime. It unites a people behind their government and gives them a sense of personal resolve and sacrifice. Unfortunately, I think we're in a real tough situation by having expended our military ability and diplomatic equity in other areas, so a real threat like Iran is not so easy to handle.

The trouble I have with your argument is that unlike Iran who has clearly and demonstrably threatened Israels very existence, Israel has never ever threatened her neighbours. There is no apology anyone can make for Israels right to defend herself from this overt aggression. It is up to Iran.

A few things: 1) Israel's forces are not built to take out an entire country like Iran. 2) The U.S. has the firepower and planning to do this. 3) The U.S. has 130,000 troops and airbases within minutes of Iran. 4) It should be made clear to the Iranians that if they try to strike back after having their nuclear capacity eliminated, that their oil infrastructure will be totally destroyed. 5) Iran without oil is just another collection of mountains and deserts. Overthrowing the mullahs is essential to this, of course. Unlike Bush's adventure in Iraq, this one has to be well planned.

Your obviously not that clever, instead of going into mass detail I'll put it like this. In southern lebanon Israel put about 10-15% of it's military strength. That strength was commanded EXTREMELY poorly. Think about this for a second, imagine if this same strength was commanded better or just doubled.
