Johnson ,   USA   (10.14.06)
You all dont have any idea just how hostile the US will be in putting an end your pathetic fatah's and Jihad's. Our patience with you all evil bastards out there is running very, very thin.
2. why not? hamas has human shields to spare
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (10.14.06)
they can attack and when america responds they will be already hiding behind the women and children. that is how cowards fight.
3. Hamas plotting
Brod ,   USA   (10.14.06)
This is not surprising as they are in league with other Islamist-Jihadist terrorist organizations such as Hizbullah and Al Queda which are supported by Islamist-Jihadist master terrorist states Iran and Saudi Arabia.

the US should realize that the people are fed up with the long years of Fatah corruption and offering it millions of dollars won't solve the problem as much of this money would be embezzled and the public won't get any benefit from it, so the best solution which would better the american image and guarantee calm is pushing Israel to comply with the international legitimacy and let the palestinians get their state not ghettos
8. Hamas vs. US
M.Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (10.14.06)
Heaven knows, we're a patient lot. We like to sit on our rear ends, watch our football, play our golf, eat our hamburgers and do whatever the world thinks we're doing over here. Just don't piss us off too badly or you will find out how far we're willing to go to for who we are. Our men don't hide behind us and our kids. We stand next to each other to protect those kids. Our men don't want to die for iffy virgins. They prefer to live for what they have right here and now. And if you want the wrath of G-d on your heads, just tell us women that our butts look too big in those uniforms.
9. Hamas who are you to flgth wlth uS

10. Persecution makes the US stronger.
Sheikh yer Bu'Tay ,   Dar al-Harb   (10.14.06)
Hamas had the vote and will of the Palistinian people, yet they pissed away international support by not recognizing Israel's right to exist. They have proven they are not worthy of any support by importing tons of weaponry instead of paying workers salaries. It is so obvious they are ramping up for the final conflict with Israel. Fatah has proven they are completely corrupt and should not be given any money, either. It is sad that the Palis have to choose only between Fatah and Hamas. The former is the most decietful liar in the ME, and the later are bloodthirsty murderers.

you were supposed to have a state about 58 years ago, but instead you chose wars than you can never win
12. Typical of the Palis-2 faced hypocrites.
workit out ,   on ur own   (10.14.06)
I hearcomplaints vis-a-vis money spent in M.E.I thought what does Israel contribute to the world in terms of knowledge + technology, and what do the Palestinians contribute outside of wars, bombs and death I came up with nada. I am sick of listening to them, hearing about them..why do the american people owe them anything...they should be falling over themselves to thank the Americans..who did more for them than Mohammad did. Besides they have Arab brethern, most of whom are rolling in excess cash..why not get them to give u a hand, or maybe a foot so they cud give you a swift kick in the butts...which is pretty much the only thing you deserve and understand...Ingrates..
13. GREAT?? NO
Ahmed ,   Gaza   (10.14.06)
I think hamas cant launch such attacks at all. (If that true) I think this is the results of Bush's wrong policies in the middle east. For sure, Bill Clinton was the best American president dealing with the M E issue. I still remember the day when he visited gaza, and how all the people wents out to the streets to salute him with flowers. During his time, if you visited Gaza or West Bank, you will see many youth tying or putting the American flag on their heads, and wearing the hats with the USA flag. If you asked The Palestinians about their point of view about America at that time, you will find it completely different from today. And this needs a very long time to change.

Let me see, if I have this right: You want the US to bully Israel, our ally, whom you've sworn to wipe off the face of the earth, into recognizing you as a legitimate State? Has it ever occurred to you people to help yourselves and put a stop to the corruption and the embezzling of billions? Arabs and Jews started out in the same desolate geography 58 years ago. The difference between Israel and your ghetto is the state of mind of the people. If all the Jews left Israel tomorrow and let you take over, in a few years, you'd end up with just a bigger ghetto. You're right that all the billions in the world won't help, but since you know that your "leaders" are stealing you blind, maybe you should choose different leaders. You had that chance, and you blew it. Until and unless you realize and can bring yourselves to admit that your situation is not always somebody else's fault, nothing will change. You are being duped by your politicians, and you hold still for it. Instead of wasting your energy, resources and money on trying to destroy Israel, why don't you use them to build a decent Palestine? Is that so hard to comprehend?
15. Translation please.
magrudis ,   Houston, TX   (10.14.06)
Does "Hamas" mean "Dumbass" in arabic?
16. #10 - you said it -- Fatah crooks or Hamas murderers.....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (10.14.06)
nice choices for the Palestinian people. It puts some real perspective on the crappy choices we have to make: Olmert or Bibi. I pray that both of our peoples bring forth real leaders and soon.
17. Let Hamas try it - then Gaza would find out what.....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (10.14.06)
it really means to be bombed. The US wouldn't put up with the shit that we do.
18. ATTACKING AMERICANS RECIPE FOR DISASTER ON LARGE SCALE
DAVID P ,   SANTA CRUZ, USA   (10.14.06)
IF HAMAS WAS TO ATTACK AMERICANS THEN ANYONE IN THE USA THAT SUPPORTS HAMAS WOULD ALSO BECOME A TARGET FOR PROSECUTION AND BELIEVE ME, THE USA WOULD BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO ROUND UP SUPPORTERS OF TERROR
19. 7 - who supports the two-state solution exactly?
NL ,   Israel   (10.14.06)
There has been concession after concession made by various Israeli gov'ts (right and left) to try to help the Palestinians arrive at a situation where they could have their own state. In fact, Kadima's political platform, with which they won, was based on withdrawal to internationally recognized borders, leaving many territories for the Palestinians in which to form their own state. In contrast, Hamas' platform, with which they won, stated the destruction of Israel as bulletpoint 3 (for context, fighting corruption was way lower down, 10 or 11). This would indicate that Israeli-elected leadership tends to want the two-state solution and Palestinian-elected leadership doesn't want Israel to exist as a state at all. How could Israel possibly comply with such a thing? And given that this is the stated goal of the Palestinian leadership, is it any surprise that Israel is trying to take baby-steps and not simply giving up all security measures with the hope (totally unsubstantiated, since Hamas keep making statements that 67 borders would just be a 'starting point' and that they want to eliminate Israel as an entity) that such a risky gesture would be rewarded with an end of Palestinian violence? A bit too suicidal for reality, sorry. Why must Israel be the only one to take 'trust-building steps'? In a normal negotiation, one side takes one step and waits for an affirmative response, before continuing to walk. Where is a valid, positive Palestinian gesture? The Oslo accords more than a decade ago, which Arafat later announced had been a 'red herring'? Palestinian steps are sorely and painfully lacking. Why is it that Israel is always asked to comply with int'l rules, while Palestinian obligations to these rules are ignored? Take UNSCR 242, for example, which is often used to justify Palestinian violent 'resistance'. The resolution states that Israel needs to withdraw from territories (not THE territories, btw. the wording is important) to SECURE AND RECOGNIZED borders. This would behoove the Palestinian leadership, based on UNSCR 242 which they keep clamoring for Israel to fulfill, to recognize Israel and help, not hinder, its security. Palestinians need to take some responsiblity for their own problems.
20. Israel should squash this ASAP
Josh   (10.14.06)
Israel should be careful that the smoke in mirrors terrorism in the territories (such as palliwood) is not used to compromise Israeli soverenty with some excuse that the US should mobilize in Isarel proper to protect their interests. Palestinians still recieve large sums of money from the US — so this appears to be a farce. Israel should cripple the Hamas government.
21. IS ANYONE LISTENING?!
stuart ,   NEW YORK,USA   (10.14.06)
HAMAS is mad because WE WON"T GIVE THEM MONEY.........SO THEY WILL KILL US .........WHAT A GREAT SYSTEM! IS ANYONE LISTENING?!
22. There seems to be some confusion here
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens, NY, USA   (10.14.06)
Hamas seems to be confusing the U.S. with the easily-intimidated appeasers of Europe. They are going to be very surprised when they see the results.
23. For my 36 years in America !
Ariya Gothelf ,   Gedera Israel   (10.14.06)
I have forever told my friends these arabs are not your friends and we Israelies stand by yourside through thick and thin . G.W. Bush give Israel the "GREEN LIGHT" and we will protect you here and you help us , we will finish this axis of evil and enjoy life not death .
24. What? It's not okay for everyone else to plot against Hamas
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (10.14.06)
Terrorists? What a bunch of whining hypocrites. Everyone here hates Hamas. Except the brainwashed college idiots, who support your cause, against the Apartheid claims you label against the Jews.

I love the american people, I have been 3 times in USa, I know that the people are very nice, but i know that the government appointed by people with interests, oil, weapons, big companies, and lobbies, and never ever reflect the normal american people, people have only to pay taxes, and the mafia who manage the government make projects which always against it people, the tax money is not enough, so this mafia use the largest power in the world to lead usa for more trillions dollar deficit, and who care about numbers, the poor american citizen ask why each day we find more people hating us, even our friends in europe they held demonstrations and fighting our government plans, far east the same, why most of the countries in the world is dangerous now if we want to travel there, and now hamas who never attacked us, ok they have problems with israel, usa has to think well, did it really nead a new enemy, soldiers who killed daily in Iraq and afghanistan is not enough, does supporting abbas directly worth to gain one more enemy who death doesnt scare him and his fighters are suisiders, is the american people life is that to cheap, before this i was understanding that bush want to fight with the last Israeli, but now if this news is true one it will be the american life.

Dimwit-----history is repeating itself. The Europeans didn't like us when Hitler was doing a run up to full power. They wouldn't show films that showed Hitler in a bad light that were produced in the USA. When Hitler invaded their countries and took away their freedom they were screaming for American help. The Arabs are repeating Hitlers little conquest, and will undoubtably take over Europe without a shot fired. And all the Europeans badmouthing the USA, and whining, will be screaming for our help again. The difference is, we'll nuke you silly bastards this time around. And we don't really care if all you clowns like us or not. We believe, and will always believe in our freedom. Unlike the silly Muslims, who like to be hidden under a sack and treated worse than a dog!
28. HAMAS TARGETS U.S.
DAN ,   USA   (10.15.06)
I think most of those who answered this talkback are unfortunately incorrect. The U.S. government is so into political correctness that a small strike would be denounced as committed by a fringe group and the Palastine community at large would get a free pass. The U.S. is so against civilians being killed that the country will never wage all out war in an effort to win. It is a shame. We have become a paper tiger.
29. pali arabs will be downfall of arabs
Truth ,   USA   (10.15.06)
"Arab Attitudes Toward the Refugees The UN discussions on refugees had begun in ... 1948, before Israel had completed its military victory; ...the Arabs still believed they could win the war and allow the refugees to return triumphant. ..The Arabs demanded that the United Nations assert the “right” of the Palestinians to return to their homes, and were unwilling to accept anything less until after their defeat had become obvious. The Arabs then reinterpreted Resolution 194 as granting the refugees the absolute right of repatriation and have demanded that Israel accept this interpretation ever since. One reason for maintaining this position was the conviction that the refugees could ultimately bring about Israel's destruction, "It is well-known and understood that the Arabs, in demanding the return of the refugees to Palestine, mean their return as masters ... and not as slaves. With a greater clarity, they mean the liquidation of the State of Israel." Egyptian Foreign Minister Muhammad Salah al-Din: (Al-Misri, October 11, 1949). After the 1948 war, Egypt controlled the Gaza Strip and its more than 200,000 inhabitants, but refused to allow the Palestinians into Egypt or permit them to move elsewhere. Although demographic figures indicated ample room for settlement existed in Syria, Damascus refused to consider accepting any refugees, except those who might refuse repatriation. Syria also declined to resettle 85,000 refugees in 1952-54, though it had been offered international funds to pay for the project. Iraq was also expected to accept a large number of refugees, but proved unwilling. Lebanon insisted it had no room for the Palestinians. In 1950, the UN tried to resettle 150,000 refugees from Gaza in Libya, but was rebuffed by Egypt. Jordan was the only Arab country to welcome the Palestinians and grant them citizenship (to this day Jordan is the only Arab country where Palestinians as a group can become citizens). King Abdullah considered the Palestinian Arabs and Jordanians one people. By 1950 he annexed the West Bank and forbade the use of the term Palestine in official documents. In 1952, the UNWRA set up a fund of $200 million to provide homes and jobs for the refugees, but it went untouched. The plight of the refugees remained unchanged after the Suez War. In fact, even the rhetoric stayed the same. [i.e., keep arabs refugees to destroy Israel] In 1957, the Refugee Conference at Homs, Syria, passed a resolution stating: Any discussion aimed at a solution of the Palestine problem which will not be based on ensuring the refugees' right to annihilate Israel will be regarded as a desecration of the Arab people and an act of treason (Beirut al Massa, July 15, 1957). The treatment of the refugees in the decade following their displacement was best summed up by a former UNRWA official, Ralph Galloway, in August 1958: “The Arab States do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront to the United Nations and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don't give a damn whether the refugees live or die.” They preferred to keep the Palestinians as symbols of Israeli “oppression.” by: Mitchell Bard http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/refugees.html
